Mark came highly recommended from a friend that routinely buys and sells real estate in Chicago. My friend went on and on about Mark's skill. I was not disappointed, Mark led a thorough, professional, and detailed inspection over five hours for a two story single family home. Frankly, I was tired at the end but he wasn't! Great service, received a timely report, and he was very willing to help out on a go-forward basis.

The lead guy is Mark Wilczak. They are very very thorough. He does an excellent job. I had him do a home inspection for me. He gave a great data and great report, quick turnaround time, and all round excellent. I have already made plans to use him again in the future.

Mark was great and walked us through a very detailed inspection. He took his time to make sure we understood what needed to be done and didn't miss one detail when inspecting our new home. He is friendly and wonderful to work with!

I was thrilled with Mark's work. I actually used Mark for one home inspection and one condo inspection. Each inspection took approximately three hours. His first inspection gave me the information I needed to walk away from buying the first home. He found widespread mold in the attic. Before reaching the attic, Mark crawled through every part of the house he could fit into. If there was a problem, it wasn't going to be missed for lack of trying! Since I'm not a DIY person, I appreciated the fact that Mark was willing to translate contractor lingo into something other humans could understand. He didn't make me feel stupid because I don't work on homes for a living. His inspection report was very detailed and easy to understand. Since he knew that I had a tight deadline, I received an electronic copy the next morning. When I decided to look at a condominium instead, I knew I wanted Mark to do the inspection. Thankfully, that inspection went much smoother. However, I still have his inspection report as a punch list of items I want to fix over time. Since I was a "repeat customer", Mark also gave me a slight price break on the second inspection. When I lived in Indianapolis, I'd had the experience of dealing with a home inspector that didn't catch items that should've been caught. I realize any home can have problems. However, after Mark's inspection, I felt I had a realistic idea of what I was buying. That's all you can ask of a home inspector.

Mark arrived on time and began the inspection right away. Having experienced inspections before, I could tell right away that he was providing more in depth services that other companies I have used in the past. He walked me through the operation and maintenance of every system in the units and pointed out all of the problems, big and small. He provided life estimates for the roof, boilers, etc. and provided cost estimates to repair major issues (termite damage.) Overall, Mark was professional and provided service above and beyond what I have experienced with other inspectors. His attention to detail did make it a long inspection (5+ hours), but the knowledge was well worth the time spent!

It was a three hour process that started with Mark being on time - he was professional, personable and a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. He left no stone unturned. I will have my report tomorrow - My realtor commented that he was by far one of the best shes seen. That others have spent more time doing less than him and that he was very approachable. I couldn't more highly recommend someone. I felt that everything was covered and i learned so much especially being a first time homeowner. Call Mark he comes very highly recommended and you will not be disappointed!!

Mark was wonderful. He made this experience as easy as possible from our first phone call through receiving the report (less then a day later. Mark was detailed in every area of our inspection, I joined him for the entire time and he described each and every issue to me and took the time to insure that I understood the issue. He was punctual and the work was done in the time he said it would be. He more then met our expectation and truly exceeded them. The value to dollar was worth every penny spent, he help set up our purchase to be eyes wide open.

I would recommend Mark to everyone! Throughout the inspection he was very professional, documented everything with pictures, and followed up with a very detailed report. He is so knowledgeable and very detail oriented as well. He gave us ranked or of importance for all repairs and timelines in which he felt the repairs would need to be done. He also included estimated costs for the repairs so we could formulate a proper budget going into our home purchase. He took the time to fully explain all the points of his report to us during the inspection. He was available for follow up questions and consultation after he submitted the inspection report.

Wonderful job! First, Mark was available on very short notice. He did a very thorough job. The report was ready the next day. It included all deficiencies found, along with pictures and estimated costs to fix. Because of this inspection, we were able to go back to the seller and request a credit on the purchase price for fixing these items. In addition, we will be renting this property. There were a few items he reported that could cause potential liability for us as landlords. This report saved us actual dollars on the purchase price, and who knows how much for potential liablity for future problems. Bottom line? Hire him. The fee you invest will be returned many times over in benefits received.

One word can describe the whole process: Magic. We were shocked when Mark discovered active water leakage into the unit which would have cost thousands of dollars to fix. He also found multiple other unseen problems with the structure. Paying for Mark's inspection was not an expense, it was an investment. His time and expertise saved us from a possible disastrous homeowner experience.Money well spent compared to the value he gave us. The fee was a bargain compared to the value he provided.

Mark was extremely professional. We discussed the issues over the phone and his depth of experience in renovating old building was especially interesting to us. His familiarity with working with contractors, prices, how to prioritize, and what to pay attention to all paid dividends in the end. His customer-minded attitude was evident from the beginning. He clearly pointed out in the email what he would do, he was very thorough and efficient during the inspection, not spending too much or too little time, and insisted on seeing each detail of the building. It was apparent he absolutely did not want to leave any corner unseen. His report was professional and included approx costs to expect, recommended prioritization, and dozens of photos that he took during the inspection. It must have taken some time for him to create the report, but he delivered it promptly. In short, Mark understands his customers' needs very well--and delivers.

Mr. Mark, from Secure Choice Property Consultants Inc, was on time and very thorough. He climbed on top of the house and garage roofs, under the porch, and in the attic. He spent over 3 hrs inspecting, and provided a very professional report just two days later.

Mark spent 3 hours at the property, and I had the report by 8am the next morning. I presented Marks findings to the seller, and were now at wait and see.

I searched for Home Inspection companies on Angies List and read many good reviews about Mark. I needed the inspection to happen quickly because it was a short sale and the bank did not give me much notice. Mark was very accommodating and we set the appointment. The morning of the inspection Mark called me to tell me he was running about ten minutes late which was fine because I was running ten minutes late as well. Mark was super thorough and explained everything he was going to do and then explained everything that he found. The inspection took five hours and left no stone unturned. I feel like I got a complete list of everything that needed fixing or might need fixing soon. He really gave me the information I needed to make an informed decision. I have bought a few houses and had taken the realtors advice to use an inspection company they recommended and was left with the feeling they were looking out for the realtor and not me. Mark must be a realtors nightmare! He was definitely looking out for my best interest. If I ever buy another house I will not hesitate to use his services again. Highly recommended. From the initial phone call, Mark was extremely responsive and was able to come out to the house just two days after the initial call to perform the inspection. Mark was extremely professional and extremely thorough. He had us stick with him throughout the entire inspection and explained everything he was looking at and doing. He explained why certain items were more important than others and noted which things we should absolutely have corrected. The inspection process took about 4 hours, which may be a bit longer than most, but I felt so much better leaving after him taking the time to walk us through everything and answer every question we had. When we got the inspection report everything made perfect sense because he had taken the time to walk us through everything while he was at the home. We also shared the report with a friend of ours who owns a plumbing company and he mentioned it was the most thorough report he had seen and would definitely be recommending Mark to other clients as he sees far too often clients coming to him with emergencies that could have been avoided had a proper inspection taken place. I would recommend Mark to anyone and when the time comes to purchase a new home I will definitely be using him again.

Mark was extremely professional from beginning to end. He arrived right on time, and was friendly and knowledgeable. The inspection took approximately four hours, and he stayed longer to review all of the pictures and results with my husband who was unable to attend the inspection. He was extremely thorough, and was able to explain all of the inner workings of the house in a manner that I could easily understand. He was friendly and thoughtful to the current home owners, who were present throughout the inspection. The current home owners were extremely impressed with his professionalism and quality of work that they asked for his contact information for future home purchase! After having a lackluster inspection by a realtor-referred home inspector, I reviewed Angie's List before having a second house inspected. I chose Secure Choice based on both the company's ratings and the fact that several of his past clients noted Mark's thoroughness and willingness to give a general estimate of what it would cost to repair the issues. Mark's rate for this inspection was almost double what I paid the first inspector, but the amount of work and the quality of the inspection was five times better (plus this house was 30% larger). Where the first inspector looked at the roof from the ground and the top of a step ladder, Mark climbed onto the roof for a far more thorough inspection...and he also inspected the roof from inside (where he found mold on the underside of the roof in the attic above the garage - I didn't even know there was an attic above the garage). He found so many significant issues that I decided to pass on buying the house and kept looking. When I found my third house, there was no hesitation in hiring Mark again. I should note that he discounted his rate since I was a repeat customer. This time I was so comfortable with the quality of Mark's work I only showed up at the end of the inspection and had Mark give me a thorough recap of his findings. Again, a great job, and this time I'm buying the house. Over the years I've had about 6 home inspections, and no one has come close to the quality of Mark's work. I recommend him without qualification.

Excellent and thorough home inspection of 1800sf 3 bedroom home. Recommended by family but saw on AL after hiring. Pointed out serious issues with home not seen during initial tours of the property. Mark kept me engaged during the entire 4 hour inspection making sure I saw and understood what he was looking for and what he found. His inspection and extensive report were both much better than the inspector we had for our previous home. The categorized report I received with budget amounts and photos was much more useful than a typical checklist of "needs repair". Money well spent! Inspection paid for itself many times over. Promptly answered follow up questions weeks after the inspection.

We had an issue where the dryer vent did not exit the house. It was missed in the inspection and Mark came out to investigate as we were upset. Despite the fact that we did not want compensation Mark paid for the vent to be vented to the outside of the house. I feel this was well beyond what was necessary and I appreciate this offer. would recommend his services in the future as the item missed was something that is not very common. He was friendly and professional. My wife joined the inspection late and he remembered what her name was. This may seem like a small detail, but it really was nice to see that even in his prep work he paid attention to detail. It really made us feel like we were more than just a faceless client. He was extraordinarily thorough in his review of the home. While doing the inspection he made sure to mention why certain deficiencies were being noted and his reasons for them. He also made sure that we knew what potential hazards there might be for a small child since we mentioned that we have a young daughter. I was also pleased that Mark provided an education on how certain systems in the home functioned so that when we moved in we would be familiar with them. He also provided an outstanding report with color photos that clearly outlined what issues the home had and how they could be fixed. Overall, we could not have been more pleased with the service that Mark provided and will refer him to anyone that we know who needs a quality home inspection. Our overall experience was FANTASTIC. Mark was the "only" person in our home buying process that made us feel that he had our best interests in mind. He gave us an extremely thorough, fact based report (supported by pictures) that uncovered all of the problems and/or potential problems with our pending real estate investment. We had a fantastic experience. Mark not only was able to accommodate a quick turnaround (less than 24 hours after we inquired) but performed the inspection in the face of the "blizzard of 2011" and was stuck driving home after the inspection in the midst of the snowstorm!
