Please do yourself a favor and don’t buy anything from The Pool Center. We bought overpriced, low grade, damaging “Poolife Rapid Shock” from this business based on a water sample we provided them that permanently damaged the liner in our 1 year old pool with shock burns. We contacted the owner Ed who is extremely hard to get in touch with, and he made excuse after excuse and took no accountability for the damage. He stopped responding when we presented evidence after researching reviews of this product and consulting with several pool experts that it was indeed the shock his company sold us that caused the damage. Clearly the owner Ed has no integrity, and he takes no ownership for the damage his products cause. The quality of products this business provides is not guaranteed and can result in permanent damage. Terrible customer service and damaging products is what this business offers. I will absolutely never buy anything from The Pool Center again, and I will definitely warn others not to as well.
Description of Work: We just bought pool chemicals for our pool from the pool center.

Don't EVER use this company! I contracted Pool Center Inc to put in a new liner and pool light. The took the inner parts of the light back to their store in order to order the correct replacement. They lost the parts and later told me it in order to replace the light we would have to bust out the concrete around the pool, dig down to the light and replace the whole assembly. That would cost me about $3,000 they said. They installed the liner in the fall and left one of the jets undone until spring, because they said it need to settle in to the corner. I called then in the spring to have them cut in that last jet. They of course can't remember what I am talking about. Several calls later they finally came out and took care of that. The day we got the pool up and running again, my neighbor's dog jumped the fence to get into our pool and tore up the liner. We then needed to replace the brand new liner. Eight weeks later they put the new liner in. It leaks. I was hauling 250 gallons of water a day to keep the pool filled. (I live on a well) I call again to ask them to address the leak. Their solution is to put a suction device over the light fixture hole. We put the cover on last fall. Then this spring we take the cover off and that suction device is gone. Sometime last fall or winter, they came out and took it off without telling me. My pool has been leaking all winter. We busted out the concrete ourselves in order to replace the light and hopefully fix the leak. Now I see that the metal pool walls are rusted through in some areas. I am furious with this company.

At first we were happy because The Pool Center returned calls and came out. Ed and his staff seemed very friendly and that's why I'm giving them a D instead of an F. As time went on they became erratic about coming when they said they would and they did not communicate about the work they had or hadn't done. It became an exercise in aggravation and frustration. The pool filter was fine. However, the solar heater never worked properly and repeated calls about the pool leaks did not lead to a solution. They eventually tore out and replaced the south wall of the concrete pool but then groundwater seeped in. The liner they installed for several thousand dollars promptly pulled away from the wall--it will have to be scrapped. Getting the pool opened was a huge hassle. It was all we could do to get them to complete work so that we could have our annual 4th of July pool party. (We gave up the event because we could not be sure the work would be done in time. No one should still be trying to get a pool into usable shape in July!) We couldn't use it at all in 2013. Here's the worst part: as we've had other pool contractors come out to give estimates, each has looked at it and asked, "The Pool Center did this, didn't they?" Apparently their reputation for poor quality work and client dissatisfaction is widespread. We are deeply, deeply sorry to have hung in with them for seven years and to have spent about $15,000 on chemicals and other items. Their "repairs" left us with a worse problem than we started with. Water was leaking out at an alarming rate and now groundwater is leaking in behind the trashed liner. We do NOT recommend The Pool Center. They seem nice but then it turns into a nightmare.
Description of Work: From 2006 to 2013 The Pool Center did repairs, maintenance and upgrades on our pool: new filter pump, solar, heater, leak repair, rebuilding a wall, installing a vinyl liner and a new pool cover.
