Description of Work: Have used Pete's for years. *Never* had a problem. Quality work at a fair price. Business sold to new owner in 2012. Will see how new owner performs.

Description of Work: As we were finishing our basement I had Pete's Heating and Colling come to the house so that they could install the fan in the bathroom. A crew of two young guys came to the house. They came to the basement to see the work that needed to be done. There was a fan to be installed and duct work had to be ran out to the end of the house. They had no supplies with them on the van. They told me to go to Menards or Lowes and buy a fan and it should cost me around 25.00-50.00. They cut a hole in the cement block of the basement wall. They didn't even have the supplies to run the duct work. The found a rag in the basement and stuffed the whole with the rag so no "critters" could get into the house. Some time later I get a bill for 250.00 that I absolutely refused to pay because it stated they supplied me with the fan for the bathroom. I had the receipt from Lowe's to prove I bought it. We also ended up running our own duct work and put the vent on the hole they cut into the wall. It was a very expensive bill to pay if you ask me just for a hole to be cut into the wall. So for several months I tried to call and explain that the guys crew did not do the work I was being billed for. The owner completely ignored me and kept sending late notices. I have no problems paying for work that is completed... however this was poor service. Sometime later we go to refinance our house only to find we had a lein put against it from this company. In the end... he got paid or we couldn't refinance the house. It made me even more upset. I contacted the Better Business Bureau. He lied on his report. I don't know how companies can get away with things like this. I felt totally scammed and that as a consumer I have no rights.
