Attempted to price gouge me. Needed a part installed that sells for $20-$30. This was a simple part that would take about 5 minutes to remove old one and install new. The tech quoted me $440 to install this part. I declined. I still had to pay the $109 service call charge. I asked the tech to clean my furnace as long as I still had to pay the $109. The tech refused. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. lOOK AT ALL THE 1 STAR REVIEWS THEY HAVE. Many of the reviews are also for price gouging. Many other reputable companies in Springfield.

They are fantastic very professional very fast and very clean.

They were prompt and considerate. They answered all my questions. Their workers were really kind. I trusted them.

Twice a year they come out and check. I have a service contract. It went up this year; I want to say $270, that included if they have to do any work needed at a discount.

It was under the other contract, it was much less, like a $120. They added extra features when they bumped it up, like if they had to come back and repair something you get 25% off. I told my son that he could use a head replacing his system in this horrible hot weather. I recommended them and they were quick to get there. They're very good about explaining what needs to be done. They left the area very clean.

Came out twice, the first time it was the fan contact relay had failed and it would not run. The second time a mouse had gotten into our wiring and shorted out the contactor on the unit outside. They had it fixed within a few hours, they were on time, and they worked through the rain and fixed our unit. He was totally Soaked but he really busted his butt. Highly recommended

They replaced 25 year old units in a tight little closet with energy efficient, incredibly quiet units and were very professional. A little pricier than another company we were considering, but the products they offered were better per consumer reports.

This was the first time they came out. We thought it was a little high.

We had a new furnace and air conditioning and they were out for service on that system.

The air conditioner wasn't working and the technician that came out just thought it was freon and it had a leak. They didn't check the leak before they filled it up. They came out right away and they were professional but they messed the diagnosis and never knew what the problem was. In all fairness to them they down to about $300 because I wasn't fantasized with it. They wanted to replace the whole furnace and air conditioner unit and all I needed was a simple part. I just needed a part that was leaking fixed and they didn't do that, so they wanted to replace the whole HVAC system.

Had brand new A/C installed April, 2014. We received a 5 year warranty with the installation. Also had service agreement with M&B, and they inspected the unit in June of 2016, and nothing was found to be out of the ordinary On June 23, 2016, air conditioner stopped working. M&B came out the following day. The compressor had literally exploded. At first, we were told that this was a warranty claim, then we were told that the paperwork that had to be submitted to Brandt was tedious and they didn't want to fill it out, then we were told that our unit was struck by lightening, so it wouldn't be a warranty claim. Lots of different stories all coming from one company. My husband spoke to a manager, as well as Tom Sweeney about the issue. They told us that we needed to purchase a brand new compressor and A coil from them, and they would come right out to give us a quote. Not to mention, they charged us $75 to basically lie to us. Luckily, my husband called around, and was able to find an honest HVAC company that also uses the same company's compressors and a coils. The man from this company said that it absolutely was a warranty claim, and gladly filled out the paperwork for the warranty claim. Our a/c was fixed for $225 worth of labor instead of $3000+ for an entirely new system. We will be needing a new furnace this winter, and I am glad that I found a company that I can trust to install it.

Everything went wonderfully--MB got a technician (Darren) to my house the next morning. I was so grateful. The price was fair, and I was relieved. I was actually really sick too, so he was very patient with me being such a drama queen!

The MB Heating & Cooling crew did a fantastic job. The process was completely professional, non-pressure sales, with good explanations of everything on the front end. They were always prompt, clean, and prepared. We replaced our existing furnace and thought the cost was very competitive. We had scheduled our installation for a few days prior, and were asked to delay the installation as another customer had a no-heat situation. We were glad to agree to reschedule and think that this shows to their customer service focus that they would ask and tend to the higher priority installation. I had a quote from a competitor for similar grade installation and feel that the price was very competitive. All costs the same, I would have hired them based on the professionalism and customer oriented that was displayed in the contact and review process. The installation crew did a very good job, left the job site clean and made a nice, tight, professional looking installation. I've had things installed before with other contractors where the goal was to Git'R'Done. This was not the case here. M&B worked diligently to get the job done and made sure all my questions were answered. Overall, as a natural gas professional who is concerned with proper and safe furnace installations, I would highly recommend MB Heating and Cooling for your furnace replacement.

Found problem when others could not.

The work performed as noted above was excellent and price was in the expected range. Fortunately, this unit is located in a room that can be isolated from the rest of the house (which is served by a separate heating system) as this was a very cold period. Our only concern was that the estimated repair date was off by about a week apparently due to shipping problems with the replacement part. For some reason the part was shipped to Champaign and then had to be reshipped to Springfield.

The installers were very courteous, professional and neat in their work! They were prompt and worked very efficiently as a team. Working with this business has been a pleasure.

Cleaned and serviced the heating/cooling unit in the room we added to the house. Cleaned and serviced the heating/cooling unit which takes care of the rest of the house. Changed filter on the whole-house humidifier attached to the furnace. Thoroughly cleaned both units. Because of the excellent work Darren Patrick did when we used MB last year, we requested him again. Once again he did a thorough, quick, professional job. He and the company are highly recommended.

The old air conditioner was not working. Due to the age of the unit we decided it was time to replace it rather than try to fix it. M B came out the same morning as my initial call. After looking at the existing system and the house we sat down and and discussed the options. I was pleased with the choices and decided to go with them. Because of an intense thunderstorm and lightening damage the day before, their crews were very busy with calls. Still, that afternoon they were able to try to get the old system running and setup a portable A/C unit that would keep the living room and dining room cool until the new equipment was installed. This was done on a Thursday before Labor Day weekend. They arrived on schedule on Tuesday and had the complete install done that day. I was very impressed with their service and workmanship. We are happy that we decided go with M B.

M B heating and cooling guy was very fast arrive 5 minutes after calling me and telling me he was on he way. when me he came in my house he was very polite and got the job done fast.

In November, I was having trouble with my heat pump. I called MB Heating and Cooling and they were pretty prompt to respond. He said there were holes in the lines and he could repair the holes, but wasn't guaranteed it wouldn't break again. He suggested I think about a new heat pump which he said would be around $5,000. We ended up spending $800.00 instead and took our chances that it wouldn't break again, because we didn't have $5,000. All seemed to be fine until the middle of June, our breaker kept kicking the A/C. We decided to look on Angie's list and found a different provider. We found out from our new provider there were never any holes repaired. Bob from our new provider said it was the compressor on the heat pump. Also Bob found out the heat pump was still on warranty and it was only going to cost $620 and the warranty would cover it. We will still have to pay $502 for labor and freon. I asked him how much a new unit would be and he said around $3,000. MB Heating and Cooling really screwed me over!!!

After finding water on the basement floor, I consulted Angie's List and contacted the company with the most positive scores. An hour (or less) after my initial call, which was after hours, I had paid the service person and he was on his way. Service Technician Darren Patrick was prompt, polite, professional, knowledgeable and quick. He also told me how to help prevent future problems of this sort. The cost was exactly the price quoted during my initial telephone call and I thought it was reasonable, especially given the fact that it was after hours and the exceptional speed with which Mr. Patrick responded and completed his work. I will certainly use MB Heating & Cooling from now on.

They called ahead to let me know that they were on the way and he arrived at exactly the appointed time. The service was completed and they took some time to educate me a bit about my boiler system. I was pleased with the professionalism of both Curtis and the owner.

We were pleased with the service we received. Darren did a great job, he was later joined by Curtis to assist. They were very professional and competent. Darren took the time to explain and answer my questions before and after. It was an expensive job but I felt the price was fair in today's market. Based on this experience we will call MB Heating & Cooling again.

My experience with MB was great! The previous owners of my house installed a flexible aluminum dryer vent that took more turns than a roller coaster track in the crawlspace. It was not venting at all and was completely blocked because it made FIVE 90 degree turns around ductwork in the crawlspace. I am pretty diligent about keeping the dryer clean, as well as the areas of the vent I can reach with the Shop Vac, but with all the turns the only solution was to replace/reroute the vent. My dryer is literally located in the middle of my home's floor plan, so I was worried that it would be difficult to re-route the vent, but the MB rep figured out how the dryer could be vented straight out of the crawlspace using a solid metal tube and avoiding all the ductwork. He drilled a new hole leading out of the crawlspace and instead of the cheap, plastic flap that normally covers dryer vents, he installed a very nice metal cover that lets the dryer vent but also keeps out animals. He also capped off the old vent from inside the crawl space. Now my dryer runs better than I ever imagined! It only takes 40 minutes to dry a load of towels where it took at least 4x that before MB took care of the vent. I also feel a lot safer knowing my dryer vent is no longer a fire hazard. This is such a neglected area of the home--I've told all my friends how important it is to keep up with dryer vent maintenance. I definitely thought the price was fair for all the work that was done, and everyone I interacted with at MB was patient and friendly. I would definitely recommend MB to anyone for a similar project. I was so pleased with their service that I am hoping to have them back in the spring to work on my bathroom exhaust fans.
