Mr. Wake suggested that I have an air conditioning unit installed in an upstairs bedroom to provide extra comfort to an otherwise too hot room in the summer time. He recommended an appropriate size of air conditioner, removed an existing window, built a frame for the unit and installed it. Additionally, he provided a description the work to be done to satisfy the requirements of the condominium association. His solution saved me a considerable amount of money. I recently contacted Mr. Wake for an estimate on a repair. He was knowledgeable and honest and provided some very helpful information regarding the work to be done. Mr. Wake is a stand up and talented guy. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

JK Wake did an excellent job. I would both hire them again and recommend them. The job required tearing off 13-year-old wood shake roof and replacing it with standard roofing. Tear down took longer because the wood shake was stapled on the roof as opposed to nailed. JK went to the trouble of removing staples, the bulk of which were rusted out and likely the cause of leaking. John and his team worked daily on our project until completion. The one day it rained, they completed a couple of small jobs inside our home which was much appreciated. Finally, JK uses a dumpster trailer versus renting a large, heavy dumpster from a commercial waste hauler. This worked for us because our driveway is steep, curves and isn't in the best of shape. Using a heavy dumpster would've likely scratched or done other damage to the driveway. JK Wake was very competitive on price and the only roofer to offer a 10-year workmanship guarantee.

Totally happy with the work done - have received many compliments from other homeowners in the neighborhood. Mr. Wake was always happy to answer questions, hard working crew....great job.

He didn't show up for his 2nd visit to give us the estimate we requested, or even call us to let us know his plan.

My initial phone conversation with John went well. John said he would come out the following week to look at the work so he could put together a quote. The next week went by and I heard nothing from him. I called back the following Monday and again speak with John. He told me that he hadn't been able to come by yet but would drive out on Thursday. I call him on Friday to follow up on his visit and John again said he didn't make it to the house because of the heat wave our area experienced, and his current workload, he was too exhausted. John said he would check out our house early the next week. I received a call from John as he is looking at my roof. We discuss shingle types, the valleys and guttering options; he adds that he will get a quote in the mail. I watched the mail throughout the week, nothing arrives. I call John. He says he hadn't yet got the quote written up but would get to it that day and mailed out. To date... I've never received it.

Went very well.

This went great. They had 8 guys and were at the house at 6:30 AM. They started working immediately, very professional, very hard working. They had the roof torn off in no time and was layingdown the felt paper and shingles. Mr. Wake worked personally on the front soffet and back door while his men did the roof. When they were done they went through the whole yard with magnets and picked up all nails, they also went through and picked up any peices of debris. The yard was as clean as when they started. Mowed grass next day, never ran across any nails. Mr Wake is very personable and very knowledgable about what he does, and will explain everything to you. I would definitely hire him again and recommend him to others.

Jk Wake & Co did an execellent job. Whenever I called John (owner) he always answered or returned your call promptly. They guaranteed the roof for 15 years. We purchased high end shinges and they did the work in 2 -3 days.

They were professional and completed the job quickly. In fact, they had a free morning and did the work a week earlier than scheduled, which was great for me, as the porch had been leaking.

Did great. Gave quote that was significantly cheaper than other in town. Had about 10-15 guys on the job, for a small house, which meant that the job was done very quickly. Not a nail or shingle left on the ground anywhere when they were done

They were good. I did get a really good deal. As far as their work, the man was good.

It went well. Mr. Wake called me back 5 minutes after I made the initial phone call. Came to the house at the planned time, was on time. Gave us an estimate in the mail, and called us the day before he started which was the day we wanted to have the roof done. Came promptly at 8 a.m. and was finished about 5 p.m. Did have a couple of pieces missing which he went and got and came back a little before 6 and finished the job. Overall very pleased with and will hire him again.

It turned out there were 5 layers of shingles on it (including the original cedar shingles from the 1800's). They stripped everything and put on 35 year shingles and all new decking without wavering from the original bid. The roof is beautiful and no longer leaks at all. Next year when I have the money, they will be able to do the back side of the roof the way they did it. These guys showed up with between 9 and 12 workers promptly in the morning of the first day and had it done on day two. I have a few other jobs I'm going to hire them for, they are great to work with! Very Professional.

He did a fine job. He was very friendly, accommodating, he aimed to please and came when he said he would.

Work was done in one day. They worked with me on dealing with bank. I had to get loan for roof. Very happy with everything.

He showed up as scheduled, his crew was polite, they cleaned up when they were done, cost came in as quoted.

They were quick, did what they were supposed to do and pretty much cleaned up after themselves. We had a conflict about the price; his claim was from the time I got the bid till the time I had the work done, he said there was a major price difference which he never gave me in writing. He verbally told me price was more, but, never gave me a figure until the work was done. I liked what they did and they did a very good job. His workers were unprofessional, used foul language around kids and two of them almost got into a fight in the backyard. They also damaged my neighbor's house during the work.
