I used this company in 2017/2018 and it was a complete disaster. Some guy named Cord/Coy fail through my roof in 4 spots leaving permanent damage and the repairs were horribly done. They damaged my HVAC and another company had to be paid to come in and fix it. I had to hire another well known roofing company to completely redo the work. The owner was not responsive or involved in communication at all. I live in Urbana il and will gladly provide photos and proof of this horrible experience to anyone that needs it. Stay clear of this company and it's poor practices. BEWARE!

These people are horrible. The crew leader was yelling all day, consistently throwing the F-word out so the entire block could hear. They threw the old shingles down all over my garden and ruined the garden. They threw them right over the doorway and almost hit me in the head when I went out to let my dogs out. They were supposed to replace soggy roof boards but didn’t. They didn’t put flashing in under a leak, so it still leaks. I have been trying to get them to come fix it for years, and they always tell me they’ll “have someone come look at it” and never do. When I asked them why they haven’t come out, they act like they weren’t aware of the problem, or they say they “can’t locate the foreman” because he was a temporary worker. It’s a load of BS. Do NOT hire these people. They do lousy work and then don’t follow through on your warranty. Our house needs thousands of dollars of repair work because of their shoddy work.

Gwen is awesome! She gave us lots of her time in going over various material choices. She was the ONLY contractor who fully answered all of our questions. And, she gave us the best price! The work was done on time and on budget. When we subsequently needed to remove a pet door, Griffitts came out and sided over the hole in the wall within a few days of our call. Service and price are the best!

After receiving bids from 4 vendors, we went with Griffitts Construction because (a) they promised completion by end of October, and (b) we were very happy with their previous work to replace several windows. Turns out that Griffitts subcontracts its roofs, and while the end product looks OK, it was not a good experience. Griffitts itself is wonderful to work with, and was very good about sending both subcontractors back to fix the problems and complete the work. However, this project dragged on forever. I have never had a relatively basic project have so many problems. I signed the contract on October 5th and it included a statement that the work would be done in October. Well, the project did not get started until the last week of October and all the beautiful weather in October was over. The rains started. The roof and gutters did not get completed until the 3rd week in November, and I am amazed I did not have a stroke from being so upset about all the problems. A few of the events in no particular order: -My wife got a flat from backing over debris left in our drive -The subcontractor roofers ripped up the front yard when they apparently backed a vehicle up close to the house when the ground was wet and got stuck. -The roofers dropped debris from an upper roof to my porch roof, which was not being re-roofed, damaging that roof while shoveling off the debris that had been dropped upon it. -The roofers filled the porch roof gutters with nails and debris and did not clean them out. -The roofers installed ridge vents without cutting the ridge, requiring them to come back on a weekend to take off the ridge vent, cut the roof, and re-install the ridge vent. -When confronted with the above, rather than being apologetic, the subcontractor was belligerent and complained about lost time. -When installing step flashing along a second story outside wall (rake), the roofer splintered and broke the existing siding at the bottom and left it that way rather than making a clean cut with a circular saw. He said nothing to me about it, and I discovered it later, doing the best I could to re-stain the broken edges. -The roofer tore the old roof off before a weekend rainstorm and we had two leaks that needed repair. -The subcontractor gutter installer installed every downspout (10 of them) incorrectly, so that the downspouts dumped water on the ground instead of tying the downspouts into the existing ground tiles (that the old gutters had been tied into). This is after I asked for them to call if any questions arose. The gutter subcontractor was at least cordial, and eventually tied the gutters into the ground tiles. In sum,,the folks at Griffitts responded to each of my complaints, but the problems that arose should not have occurred at all. If they were to use a different subcontractor, or do the work in-house, I would use them again simply because I had such a good experience the first time for windows.

After I decided to only do doors for now, could never get anyone to call me back with just a figure for the doors. I eventually went with another provider.

Removed our old french doors and replaced them with new sliding doors. We had a quote from another place that was almost twice the price as Griffitts, so we feel like we got quality doors at good price. The installers did a good job and cleaned up afterwards. The new doors look great!

I got quotes from approx. 8 or 9 contractors. I narrowed it down to 3. Griffits and another were priced similarly and the third was much more expensive. Through out the process griffits was very professional and I had a couple coworkers who either knew Dennis or another who used Dennis for a job. My coworker who used Dennis to install a window said that Dennis exceeded his expectation. It took me about 2 months to make a decision because I did as much research as I could on my own. Dennis welcomed questions and was very forthcoming with answers and help. Once we agreed on the price, he ordered the windows, siding and pillars. Once they came in the work began and continued consistantly weather permitting. It was a good experience and I recommend them.

Showed up on time. Very courteous. Cleaned up job-site before they left every day, including raking and using magnet to find any loose nails. Offered to return to clean driveway after dumpster was removed. VERY satisfied with the experience.

I called 3 companies for estimates. Griffitts, Bacon and Van Buskirk and another company. Griffitts was prompt with the appointment, gave me several different options to choose from and was very resonable with their price. The order went smoothly. The installation had a slight hiccup - it was originally scheduled for the week between Christmas and New Years. Due to the holidays, I was disappointed but not put off. The installation went very well. The old windows were out and the new replaced in a just a few hours. The installers were very friendly to my teenage son who watched anxiously. The work was impeccable and the clean up left no sign of any work being done. I thoroughly enjoy my new windows. They are now a centerpiece of my living room, rather than behind closed curtains.
