Description of Work: Waterproofed my basement and added sump pump. Overall it was ok. Removed a window and could not get it back in. Did not replace the screen when done. I will say that when I called about something I thought was wrong or needed correcting they were quick to respond.

Yes, this did in fact happen where the materials went in another Greentree vehicle to a different job site and we had to send another vehicle for it. This true and every blue moon human error occurs on our part.

Although the hole was right next to our porch, the men put heavy plastic down to cover the porcht. When they were done, there was no dirt from the digging anywhere but piled on the hole. I have not complaint about the quality of the job. However, $900 for an hour's work seemed like robbery. I went in to speak to the owner, who was pleasant but insisted that since I had signed the contract, there was no need for him to reduce the price. He said that sometimes a job takes a lot more work than they expect. As I understand it, overestimating my job helps them cover any underestimates that they might make. It is an unfortunate business model. If the mechanics at my garage give me an estimate to replace the brake pads and turn the brake rotors on my car and then it turns out that the brake rotors don't need to be turned, they don't charge for work they didn't do. Greentree does. The job involved none of the expense that was built into the bid - no bush moved, no trench - but the owner's position was basically - too bad, but you signed the contract. Legal, yes; ethical, not so much. I would not do business with them again or recommend them to anyone else.
Description of Work: After the unusually dry summer, the ground around the house had pulled away from the foundation. When I was watering the front yard, the water from the sprinkler was hitting the house, running down the foundation wall and into the lower level (not a basement - the floor is a little less than 4' below ground level) of the house where the water pipe from the street enters the house. Our plumber recommended Greentree. I called them, a man came out promptly to look over the problem and gave us an estimate of $1000. I was told that they would need to dig a 4 1/2 foot deep hole big enough for a man to get down and work in. That might involve moving a bush, ($100), and it could be that there would be a long crack across the front of the house, which would involve trenching to fix. I pointed out that the pipe was only about 3 1/2 feet down at most and that there might be enough space to dig without moving the bush, so I asked if they would be taking $100 off if they didn't move the bush. The estimator said that he would just give me a 10% discount on the bid, so the final estimate was $900. I paid 20% down ($180) with the rest due after the job was done. Two men came out at the scheduled time, dug a hole down to the pipe maybe 2' in diameter, reached in, and patched the hole around the water pipe with patching compound. No bush moving, no trenching along the front of the house, no big, deep hole, just in and out in less than an hour. I gave them the balance of the money ($720) on completion of the work.

Response from Greentree Waterproofing Inc
Greentree Waterproofing Inspector's and Foreman's take great pride in the service we provide our client's. The time involved in Mr. M's project did in fact exceed more than one hours time to repair the seepage problem correctly and our Foreman did have to trench down below his problem area to effectively place a seal which also takes time to set. Our Inspector's are trained and very knowledgeable in our field and informing our clients of all unforeseen possibilities prior to the signing of any agreement to perform work, this is standard procedure. Mr. M was informed of all the possible scenarios that our Foreman could encounter, but he was not billed for work that wasn't performed, nor was he charged for a bush that wasn't required to be removed or trenching that was not performed. I can say as the owner of Greentree Waterproofing that in our history of doing business it was our first time having a client come in to renegotiate after the work was performed. We're very sorry that Mr. M has pour feeling towards our company, but by far our job is not easy thus being the reason we can guarantee our work.

The workers arrived on the scheduled date & time. They were very professional & well mannered. They explained what they were doing each step of the way. They cleaned up their mess & wore shoe covers to protect my floors. They were able to work with me to get financing for the project which was a lifesaver! I would definitely recommend them to anyone & would definitely use them again in the future if needed.

It was great. The customer service was wonderful, and the team of laborers worked like dogs to get the work done quickly. Furthermore, we have had several rainstorms and a pool leak, but not a drop made it into the house.

The work was well done, and the workers left everything very clean. Their job was especially difficult because the crawl space was a muddy mess with standing water in several areas. Also, the work had to be done on hands and knees because the space is only 44 inches high. This drainage system has performed well since installation.
Description of Work: Installed a garage entry to the crawl space. Hauled away old visqueen and broken cement blocks from crawl space. Installed sub floor drainage system in crushed rock along the perimeter and several branches through the center of the crawl space. Installed a pit sump pump and drain to the yard. Installed automatic vent covers and laid new visqueen.

The lower living level of my home & crawlspace took on ground water for years!! We saw Greentree's trucks around the corner plus we heard good reports about Greentree, called for an inspection. Inspector was on time, professional & explained everything in layman terms from where the water was coming from to how their company was gong to stop it, he gave us a huge list of names they did work for in our area, we even knew people on the list so we called them to see how their project went, GOOD Reports!!! The crew was on time & organized, the forman gave me a daily report before leaving our home & they completed the project right on time with no problems. I recommend Greentree to everyone I know & Give them a big thumbs up!
