It went bad. They wiped my hard drive, and my back up then could not be read by ny hard drive. I am not a computer expert, I took the tower to them, signed the necessary forms and let them have it.  I was horrified when I got it back and there was nothing there. When my back up could not be read, I took it back to them and they were of no help at all.
DO NOT EVER USE THIS FIRM FOR ANYTHING

I have been to BLH a few times and they are almost always prompt, except for one time when it was right after their open time. They greet you, listen to whatever problem you are having with the computer, go through the possibilities with you and then check in your computer. My computer has never been there longer than a day, even when they had to wipe it after it crashed. However, one time my computer was only there for about 25 minutes and they still charged me with a full service charge.

I stopped by and talked with a person at BLH in person explaining the problem and what I thought needed to be done: reinstall XP Professional (I had the disks) in such a way so that it recognized the 2nd hard drive installed in the computer or retrieve the material on the second hard drive, put it on a CD data disk, and then wipe the hard drive and reinstall the data or let me do that. The fellow I spoke with said he could do that and I should bring the machine in. The next morning I called and spoke with someone else, again explaining the problem caused by a trojan virus crash, and asked if it was possible for them to fix this. I was assured it would be possible and told I should bring the machine in. No one ever asked me how old my machine was. I told them it was a non-brand model that I had put together over the years. However, I did describe in detail what I had already done: I started by trying to use my XP Professional disk to reboot/format the C drive. It wouldn't work as it was not a boot disk. I had originally had Windows 98 on the computer. So I tried to boot that up and then do the upgrade again. But Windows 98 thought the disk corrupted because XP had changed the format of the disk. I borrowed a boot disk from a friend who had a Dell computer and booted C drive anew with that, reinstalling XP Professional with the code I had. I did not realize until this was completed that Dell boot disks for XP Professional brought the machine back to factory ready status and therefore it did not recognize the existence of a data file secondary hard drive that I had installed (known to me as F drive). As a result the device manager said it saw the second hard drive but listed it as drive 1, unallocated. If I partitioned it again it would wipe out all the data I had on it. I did not want this to happen. I now needed to retrieve the data on F and clear and reinstall or redo C drive and reinstall another version (not Dell) of XP Professional that would recognize the existing F drive with its data intact. From my description it was clear that the machine was old enough to originally have Windows 98. My copy of XP dates from 2002 when I installed it. I brought the machine in to be told it was too old and they would not work on it because it wasn't worth it. I said it was my choice and my money not theirs. I pointed out I had spoken with them twice and was never told they refused to work on "older" machines (Pent. II or lower). I was told I needed to buy one of their reconditioned machines instead. I took this to be a classic bait and switch. Lack of communication of crucial information and deceptive sales practice attempts mean they are untrustworthy even if they may know their computers. I do not recommend dealing with this firm.
