It took a short period of time after contact to get a detailed estimate. They requested that I come to their location to look at models and colors, which was a good idea. I ended up specifying a more expensive unit as the other one (screen room only) wasn't to my liking. They were not high pressure in terms of trying to sell the product.
Description of Work: We had an estimate for a three season room addition. I thought the person who came out was professional and prompt. The estimate was competitive. In the end, a competitor simply had what appeared to be a better product. (I liked the design better). But I had an overall favorable experience with them.

The builders showed up as scheduled, although they did work odd hours most days. This, for us, was more a benefit as we both work and allowed us to address any questions we had with the builders and review progress before the crew left for the day. Everything dealing with the actual construction went very smoothly and the crew did try to leave the site clean every day, but this was a construction site, so there was generally some stuff they had to leave around. The only problem came up when it was time to do the roofing work on the addition. The original roofing crew (not the construction crew) never showed up and it took nearly three weeks before BenMar brought in another crew to finish the job. The original building crew was very careful to protect the addition with plastic sheeting to prevent leaks, but it wasn't the look we wanted and we were a bit anxious by the time the roofing crew finally got there. The day they did the job we arrived home to find all of their waste in our front yard and an opened half-pack of shingles still on the roof, with tar-paper tacks scattered all over the roof and deck. Other than that, they did an excellent job, and one call to BenMar and the construction crew was back on site, cleaning up the mess and checking the roofing work, so we were pretty pleased with the response to that, as well. BenMar did say that they had addressed the issue with the roofers, so that should not be an issue with anyone wanting work done. (This problem is the source of the "B" grades in punctuality and professionalism above.) All in all, we got just what we wanted, the building crew was very careful and courteous, the support and communications from BenMar were excellent, and we are now thoroughly enjoying our new addition. I will certainly hire them again if we need something else done in their line of work.
Description of Work: We've been wanting to add a sun/three-season room for several years. BenMar came to the house, provided an estimate and advice on things we needed to do before they started, and, when we were ready to proceed, provided a dedicated crew to perform the actual construction. BenMar provided plans and a detailed quote before beginning work and had no issues with modifications we decided on later. Adding a gabled roof to tie the new room in to the house raised the price (as expected), but BenMar was easily able to accommodate our choices with no problems. Side note: We did want outlets and a ceiling light in the sun room, but BenMar explained up front that they do not tie the new addition electrical into the existing construction electrical, but they will run the wiring itself up to the point where the owner can bring in an electrician to do that for them. It was well worth it to us, as they will customize the locations of fixtures (as far as the construction design will allow) and cut the holes for them (they will not install outlets or fixtures, but the wiring will be in place for the owner to do so) and it's really not very difficult to do the rest of it on your own.
