Stole my money. They sent out their son, Cody, to open our pool. Originally to open the pool was $300 including chemicals. Then several requests were made for "miscalculations". We started getting suspicious when he requested $40 for gas through Cash App. After $580, only thing done was the pump hoses were connected and a new plastic basket installed. Tried to contact the son a few times for a refund, but he won't return any calls.

I want to separate Aqualand from the people who installed the pool (a sub contractor they recommended). The sub was great. We had this pool put in last year for $4000. When I opened it this Spring, there was a hole just above a seem in the liner. Aqualand told me that because it wasn't on the seem, it wasn't warrantied, and they questioned how I closed the pool the previous Fall. I've owned a pool for 10 years and know how to close it. After plowing another $2000 into the project (liner, wall damage, and labor) I got another liner. It too had a hole in it and the owner of Aqualand wasn't going to replace it initially, suggesting I might need to buy a third liner in less than one year. After I threatened a lawyer (at which the rude woman on the phone openly scoffed), and had a letter drafted and ready to be mailed by my attorney, they magically got a third liner and replaced it. I am honestly concerned about writing this review, because Aqualand still has my credit card. I'll be monitoring it closely it my lawyer to watch for any retaliation. Now, The rating for punctuality of an A is only for the sub who did the install work. They were great. As soon as the owner at Aqualand released a new (3rd) liner, the sub was out here putting it in. The owner of Aqualand at one point tried to say that maybe the sub had ripped the liner while installing it. When I suggested that even if this were the case, Aqualand had given me his card and recommended the sub, he scoffed stated that he did not hire the sub, I did, and he bears no responsibility for the quality of the install. By the way, the sub cut his labor costs in half (taking a loss) because of what all we had to go through. A cheap pool initially turned out to cost just as much as the competitors and with a ton more headaches!!

Mr [Member name] liner failed due to two tears allowing all the water to go out. I believe it was due to ice but cannot tell. I sent pictures of the tears to the liner manufacturer,and since it was not a defect in the seam it was not covered by warranty. Labor is not covered by the warranty at all. I gave Mr. [Member name] a 25% discount off the new liner because I felt sorry that he had the problem. Next when the contractor that installed the pool took the liner out he discovered that the wall of the pool in one area had been crushed. This was due to the fact that the pool cover held a lot of water and when the holes in the liner allowed all the water in the pool to go out the weight of the cover with water hanging on the wall crushed the wall because the pool wall is not designed to support that weight. Therefore Mr. [Member name] had to purchase a new wall and two pieces of bottom track. This kind of damage is not due to defects in the product. No different that having a wreck with your car, it happens. The new liner that the installer put in did have a defect that he did not see when he installed it. A seam came unweilded where the wall material meets the bottom. I went to look at if when they discovered water leaking but could not see it. In order to get credit for the liner we have to cut the defect part of the liner out and send it to the company. I gave the installer another liner and told him he needed to bring me the old one and find the defect. He took it out and found the defect and I sent it two the company that supplied it and I have still not received credit for a new liner. I also gave the installer $200.00 out of my pocket to help defray all his labor. First of all I would like to set the record straight about the guy that put the pool up and replacing the liners. He is not a subcontractor of ours and has never been so Mr. [Member name] reference to a subcontractor is entirely wrong. We provided his name to Mr. [Member name] and had nothing to do with him hiring the installer. Also Mr. [Member name] was the one that was very rude to us not he other way around. We are not responsible for acts of God. We can only replace material as the warranty states. I have been in the Pool and Spa business for 40 years and have not very often run into people like Mr. [Member name] and thank God for that. From the very get go he yelled at me about his problem, which had nothing to do with a warranty or defect in the product. I tried to be nice by giving a 25% discount on the liner. Thank You Thomas V. It went very well. Their crew worked fast and had the pool finished in about a month. We are very happy with the results and would recommend this company to anyone looking at building a pool.
Description of Work: This company was a joy to work with. They often came to our house to check on our pool because they knew we were new pool owners. Tom was the best and always looked after us. Anyone in Springfield looking for a new pool should talk to this company. They helped us design a pool that met our requirements. They had a crew start installing it almost immediately. They worked with the landscaping company to coordinate the patio installation with the pool installation. They actually cleaned the construction mess from the patio out of the pool twice. They closed up the pool at the end of the year in coordination with the patio construction that was still ongoing.

They did argue with me about the PVC anchors. Our pool repairman told us that brass fittings would be better, but the salesman at Aqualand wanted to argue with me about it. I don't want to replace anchors in five years.
Description of Work: I exchanged some pool parts that were not needed for others that were. I returned a faceplate gasket for a skimmer along with 4 pvc ladder anchors. I purchased 3 escutcheon plates for our ladder and 3 complete return fittings.
