Description of Work: I had a semi-private fence put in around our pool and part of our yard. They accommodated my request of 1 inch spaces between boards. Originally they started putting boards on with no gap and had about 15 feet complete. I stopped and questioned them, we called person who came and placed our order, cleared up the problem, took boards off and redid it for me. Looks great!

The fence turned out as expected. However, the installers put lots of trash in my construction dumpster causing me to be charged extra. The company did offer to reimburse the fee. More recently, I have been having issues with my gate. I have called the company FOUR TIMES to fix the problem. Nothing has been done yet. I will call Goodman for my future fencing needs.

I received 4 bids for fencing and Allied was one of the highest. As the saying goes you get what you paid for but not in this case. When I met with the estimator Jessica I was advised not to worry about getting a survey because they had someone that would come out and help them find the lines if they couldn't (lied). I gave 1/2 of the money up front upon approval. They called and came out to put in the posts. When she got here she advised they couldn't find the pins and asked where I thought the property lines were ( I work from home and was working when I was called outside so I was in a hurry and not thinking clearly). We looked over the property and decided on the location of the fence. After I got off work I took the information I received from the city on the property lines outside and found the lines. HHHHmmmm and I don't do this for a living. When the crew came out to put up the fencing I was gone and didn't get a chance to talk with anyone prior to the start of the fencing going up. When I got back I pulled the crew leader/supervisor aside and asked that he pull his metal detector out and showed him where the pin was. I followed the information from the city and come to find out the fencing was going up about 6 inches in the neighbors yard. At this point there was nothing I could do about it. Good thing I have a nice neighbor and hope she dont sell anytime soon. After about 2 weeks I noticed the front gate would not open right and the back gate was twisted. I called and left a message. Finally got a call back (of course I missed it and it went to voice mail) and I left another message stating exactly what was wrong with the gates per the voice mail. A month later still no repairs and I called the office again and told them do not leave until I take a look at the work. No such luck. I got a voice mail stating they would be out sometime in the next week. Of course they came while I was gone. I checked the gates. They fixed the front gate and untwisted the poorly installed back one but now it doesn't open right. I called again and again I left a voice mail (at this point I hate voicemail) and 5 days later nothing, so I have called again and you got it left another voice mail. If you are to this point in my review run as fast as you can the other direction do not make this call unless A. you do a survey and don't listen to the estimator and B. like voicemail.

When the sales person arrived I went thru what I wanted he was helpful and courteous. I needed to fence in the front street side and the back of the yard, the front being 18' with gate and the back stretch being 12' no gate. he said the total would be 590.00 I agreed and put 295.00 down. After some thought I wanted to extend the back and utilize more of my yard , however if they priced it that high for so little fence and I was adding 15 additional feet with a gate, I decided I would tackle that on my own which I did for $340.00 for 28' of wood fencing with Gate.. I received a bill for an additional $175.00 - Minus the $295.00 I put down So it seems they credited me with 120 for the back fence?? so the total cost of the 18 feet of one sided fencing with gate was $470.00. Now I want everyone to make a profit but thought ( knowing what I paid) it was a flippant attempt to just throw a figure back at me and not a calculated amount. I certainly can afford this extra amount however I proceeded to look over the work OMG that's when I really blew a gasket!!! I am not making this up the MY FENCE IS MORE LEVEL!! there were NUMEROUS cracks in the wood they used, I have pictures UNBELIEVABLE!! they had to add little pieces of wood so as to have something to drive a nail into!! I think its measure twice cut once RIGHT!! I have needed 2 fences in my life, and really do not see a need for another before I move on, so I have little recourse except to write this VERY HONEST review and pay it in 2 payments so as to ease my frustration..

I don't really remember them honestly. They didn't really make an impression that much I guess. They were nice.

This is the worst piece of craftsmanship I have ever seen. For starters, the neighbors agreed to pay $370 for 25' of chain link fence line. The fencing is the cheapest grade material out there. The existing fence has stood level for 40 years and is of quality material. The support beams are spaced uneven, the horizontal support sags and then takes a 30 degree dip at the end. The chain link is bent at the top mostly because of its cheap quality. The new fence line sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the existing, level fence that has stood for 40+ years. The whole project looks atrocious and greatly decreases my mothers property value. I have several thoughts here: Is it common for a fencing company to replace a section of fence when the fence line does not belong to the buyer? Shouldn't the fence company make contact with both homeowners to make sure there are no property line disputes. After seeing the work, I contacted Allied Fence and spoke with a man who did not identify himself. The e-mail is C.Lazarus@insightbb.com. I initially asked him how much extra it would be to make the job right. the man said that the purchaser had paid him so it must have been ok. I advised him that i was the owner of the fence line and that I was not happy. The man continually said "Jesus Christ" and "Jesus". I advised him that Christ had nothing to do with this job and that he need not use the Lords name in vain to me. Allied Fence was not at all interested in making this fence right and I believe that they took advantage of older retired folks that were my mother's neighbors. The price paid was $370 for about $50 worth of materials at best. Rather than discuss the situation in a mature manner, the owner/employee took the defensive and became belligerent. This is not the type of company that i would suggest anyone do business with in the future I am now in the process of getting additional bids from reputable companies to replace the hack-job, that Allied Fence calls quality work.
Description of Work: The house in question belonged to my mother, who is now deceased. The neighbors, who are retired folks tore down a garage that acted as 25' of fence line on my mothers side. The existing fence belonged to my mother. The neighbors, acting in good faith attempted to replace the fence line where the garage once stood. after the work was complete, the neighbors contacted me (the son) to say they had replaced the fence and wanted to know if I would go in halves with them to cover costs. Not having seen the work done, I agreed since they are genuinely good people who took good care of my mom. This occurred in June 2009. The neighbors eventually got a hold of me to request my half and to I went to see the final product..........
