Aerus

I have a spare bedroom that I haven't used in months, because one of my cats started peeing in a corner. I'd already tried covering the room in baking powder, but it didn't help at all. I received a flier that the Aerus in Springfield was having a half-off carpet cleaning services promotional period, so I contacted them to clean that room. I arranged an appointment, and within about two or three days an employee arrived (about 1 1/2 hours late) to clean the room. He asked me a few questions about the smell and the stains, so I told him honestly that those were the reason I'd called in the first place, and that the cats hadn't been allowed in for months. He gave me an extremely skeptical look and pointed out that the carpet was damp in places. I told him that--because of the smell--I keep the window open, and it had stormed the night before. He kept giving me these super-disbelieving looks, and commenting about "whatever made the carpet damp," as though my truthfulness was in question. I felt very uncomfortable with his attitude, especially once he asked me how many cats I had and implied that I might be hoarding animals. In the end, he was unable to use the equipment on a damp carpet, and asked me to make an appointment at a later date once it was dry (to his credit, he offered two rooms at the promotional price instead of just the one). So, because the price was still right, I made an appointment two days ago for the same bedroom. The employee was late, which I found out after phoning was because he'd penciled the appointment down for the wrong date. He agreed to come late in the afternoon. I found it was a different person coming this time, and he was much more pleasant and appropriate. He took a little less than half an hour to do the job, and explained to me afterward what I might have to do in order to further and more properly deodorize the carpet. Afterward, because it was such a small room, he also insisted that I only pay $20 instead of the $24.99 we'd previously agreed upon. My grades on this review reflect my overall experience, and I gave more weight to my second, completed transaction. However, I cannot stress enough that I was made to feel very uncomfortable and judged in my own home by one of their employees. Because of that person, I probably will not use their services in the future or recommend them.

Family owned and operated business...they worked very hard installing our central vac system. Arrived early to begin work (8:00 AM) gave us many choices and respected our preferences...even though it made their work more difficult...Any problems that arose during the install, they handled with patience and diligence. 7 inlets and a vac pan...all with seperate electrical and several hundred feet of glass lined pipe. They worked in the attic...in the heat...most of the day...and stayed until the job was completed (8:30 PM) Cleaned up after themselves...made sure everything worked properly and that we were satisfied.
