Matt charges only $10 extra to make the trip out to your house. Since it was my laptop, I decided to take it to him. The price is $30 per half hour of time spent doing the work. He did an excellent job. I really liked the fact that he was able to do the work so quickly too, other companies indicated that it would take 5-7 business days. I would use him again.

I called in the morning describing the problem. He told me he could fix it and that the cost would be probably under $100. He said if he could not fix it there wouldn't be any charge and he would know fairly shortly after working with the machine if what I asked was possible. I brought the machine over around 2 p.m. We spoke again around 5 p.m. He said the transfer of data was about 80% done at that time and I could pick the machine up around 7:30 p.m. that evening when I said it would be convenient. He charged me a total of $90 for the time and work and $5.00 for the super-sized disk. I was able to partition the disk and reinstall the data immediately that evening and had a working computer again by 10 p.m. that night. I had called a number of places I found in the yellow pages before I decided to go with Mr. Burris. Others sounded unsure on the phone and or quoted much larger possible fees - one said it would take three to five days probably and wold cost between $149 and $549 to do the work. Another was a mail in place that said it would take 7-10 days and I paid for shipping and they had no guarantees but it could cost as much as $500.00. They said this sight unseen. Burris was willing to guess it was a minor not a major problem and didn't try to scare me with large cost and time estimates that were unnecessary. He told me if it was something more or he couldn't do it, he would tell me when he had analyzed what was necessary before he did it. The other businesses may have given correct information but it seemed as if they were setting me, the customer, up for a larger bill than necessary and longer time delay for me while still wanting me to believe they were being prompt and not excessively costly.
