This was the second time I used Twin Flooring. Three years ago Twin Flooring installed hardwood floor in the family room, leaving room, dining room, kitchen, and 1/2 bathroom in my house. This time, when I decided to installed hardwood floor in the rest of my house and redo master bathroom, I called David, the owner of Twin Flooring again. David is a type of contractor you would like to deal with: hardworking, honest, and very good at what he does. On top of this his prices are very reasonable and he goes out of his way to please the customer. He even went with me to a store to look at tiles when I couldn't decide what I wanted. David came over after I called him, measured the rooms and the bathroom and emailed me his estimate the next day. Once he started, he focused on the job. He removed old carpet, put screws in the sub-floor to eliminate squeaking, and installed new hardwood floor and build stairs. In the bathroom he removed the old shower and completely rebuilt it. He also recommended another contractor when I decided to upgrade shower doors and worked with him to finish the shower. Also, everyday before he leaves he vacuum cleans everywhere including the garage. The end result was very good. Both the hardwood floor and the bathroom looked gorgeous. Including all minor details such as grout in the bathroom, wall trim, the way tiles and hardwood planks were cut, etc. Everything looked very professional.
Description of Work: This is what's been done 1) Hardwood floor in 2 bedrooms, 29 stairs, 2 landings, and 3 closets (3 1/4" white oak planks) 2) Porcelain tile floor in one bathroom and marble floor in the other bathroom 3) Shower (tiled walls, mosaic floor, sliding shower doors)

David is meticulous and I can tell he takes pride in a job well done. He explained to me what he was doing and why at every step of the way. He was a pleasure to have around the house. I appreciated the options that he offered for me to save money (like me doing the shopping for materials). I would definitely use him again in the future for other flooring work.
Description of Work: David (the owner) installed about 800 sq ft of natural travertine stone tile in a complex French villa pattern in 4 rooms on my first floor. He did everything that he said he would do when I talked to him and received the quote for the work. He started with the removal of the carpet and padding and the base trim. The carpeting was left in easy to move duck taped rolls. Next he added screws in the sub floor to ensure any loose boards were secured. Then he installed the Durock concrete backer board with mortar and screws to secure it to the sub floor. He finished this part by taping and mudding the seams. Next was the actual installation of the tile - which included making cuts as needed to fit the room. Then he grouted and sealed the stone tile with 2 coats of stone sealer. Finally the trim was replaced with a base shoe. I purchased the stone tile myself and David gave me a shopping list for the other materials needed to install the tile such as the mortar, Durock, grout and sealer. He gave me the option to buy the materials myself so that I did not have to pay him for the time spent shopping. I'm a cost conscious person and did the material shopping myself to save a little money.
