"Things went from bad to worse. I replaced a few boards before the sanding and staining was to be done. The carpenter told me "a few of the boards are thicker than the existing". I told the carpenter "don't worry about that. The deck guys are going to sand it all down". This was my understanding from the start. I have evidence I communicated with DeckMedic my understanding that the deck would be sanded to get rid of the rough surface. Their ad calls it "sanding to remove the raised grain". I even mentioned he will most definitely need to hammer all nails before sanding. Otherwise he will tear up his sander. He agreed. The sanding was never done and many of the nails were never hammered down. I brought a third party service company in for their opinion. Their professional opinion "the deck was never sanded as the raised grain on the wood stands out and is very rough" Second issue: my deck stairs needed rebuilt then would need stained. Ryan and I came to an agreement. He would give me a $400 discount due to my dissatisfaction. He would send me a discounted invoice marked paid and would include a contractual promise to come back in the spring to stain new stairs. After I paid him, he said the invoice is in the mail. It never showed up. Now he still won't give me the invoice."

"I was very impressed with the information provided and the speed in which my queries were responded to. I received a quote of $520 for the job and the certificate of insurance I requested. I verified the cost quoted included cleaning the deck. I was told that the "deck was part of the house". I provided photos of the shed, and the house to assist with providing an accurate quote. I had a couple of additional questions prior to scheduling that I emailed to PrimeTime. Suddenly, my emails were kicked back as being undeliverable. Apparently, the person I had been dealing with must have separated from the company and the information about this job was not passed on. I sent an email to Primetime via their website regarding the returned emails and scheduling the job and was contacted promptly, which was appreciated. I reviewed the jobs to be performed and confirmed the price we were quoted. I was now being told there was additional cost involved with power washing our deck, which happens to be very small. I offered to send them photos of the deck and to measure it. They would not commit to the $520 price quoted, and I was told they would cost out the deck once they saw it, the day of the job. I indicated this was not what I had contracted for, and I emailed back the documentation and photos previously sent to them to aid in getting a quote. They refused to commit to the $520 quote, but said "not to worry about it" and we set a date for them to come out to do the job. PrimeTime's subcontractor showed up and did not appear to have any of the paperwork emailed to me. After consulting with the main office, I was given a totally different quote for the job - over $400 more than agreed to. The subcontractor called Primetime again and was sent back in to try and negotiate the job again. We felt bad for him because he made no money that day. After the subcontractor left, I immediately got a phone call from PrimeTime trying to renegotiate the cost of the job telling me:. They really wanted my business, You can't expect us to drive to Every customer's house and give an estimate, They've been doing business in this area for over 20 years..... I told him that this is one job he isn't going to get, as it smacked of bait and switch. I know what I contracted for. I can understand having to adjust the price slightly after seeing the job at the site. However, I had the written estimate that was agreed to, emails, and the photos I sent to them to help estimate cost including the deck. Then, to actually get to the job and want to charge over $400 more ($915)?? Not going to happen, especially on my unemployment check. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: After posting my review on YELP about my experience, the next morning I started receiving telephone calls from them starting at 7:00 a.m. which didn't make me happy as I am recuperating from surgery as well as an unhappy response to my YELP review. I'm quite willing to talk this through with them, but DID NOT appreciate the full-court press."

After I accepted they clearly communicated when they would be able to start on my deck. Samantha and Josh showed up to paint my deck and replace my boards on the day they had communicated prior. The work and their attitude was professional the entire time and the project came out looking fantastic. I would recommend their services to anyone looking to have their deck done right."
