Geek Squad - Best Buy

We have used Geek Squad for computer repairs, and it has gone well. When our tv was damaged we thought we would try them for service. They came out August 13, 2015. They did not have the part needed to fix the tv. Told me it would take 7 business days to get the part. At that point, they scheduled the next appointment for August 22 from 4:00 - 8:00. They never bothered to call or show up on that day. After making several calls the next day, I got the answer that the part never came in but they forgot to call me. More time passed, still no call from Geek Squad that the part was in. Finally, my husband called (it is now September, by the way) and they said, yes, the part is in. So they are supposed to show up today, September 9 from noon - 4:00. Well, you can see where this is headed....they called my husband this morning and said, hey, can we come from 5 - 6:00 instead? My husband said no, we can't be there then. We had already planned on 12-4:00. They said ok, we will come from noon - 1:00. I don't need to tell you they never showed up or that when I called Best Buy in Geneva, they gave me some bogus number to call. So, the moral to this story is never use Best Buy' s Geek Squad to repair a tv. This is my first review on Angie's list so that itself explains my frustration. This saga is not over because I intend to visit Best Buy in Geneva and talk to the manager or do some sort of protest.

My husband went in, got the TV he wanted and when they actually came out they got the wrong model which was of a lesser price than what we chose. We made them take that away and they came back with another one. They didn t have our model available and they had to call other stores for it. When they finally came they got a newer version of the model we were looking for and made us pay a bit extra. They fixed it and there were giant fibrotic cables that were needed to be hook up to the DVD player as well as other parts. He got a tuner that he swapped with a different brand which didn't work after a week and it was a nightmare. I wasn't happy with the overall experience and found them very bad at responsiveness. I called and was promised a call back but ended up waiting for a long time without any calls. We chose them because we have very limited choice of dealers where we live.

The sales people treated me very well. I basically told him what I wanted and he started showing me different models. He also showed me a floor model that had a discounted price and that is the one I bought. The delivery went well and was on time. They installed my new refrigerator and took away the old refrigerator.
