Workers were prompt and respectful of my home. They completed the job in a timely manner, taking appropriate breaks and cleaning up afterwards. They found a problem on my roof and let me know about it The owner stopped in and checked on the job and also talked to me about what would be needed to repair the roof. I was very happy with this company and would definitely call them again.

The technician was punctual and he was straight forward. Scheduling was easy and he was able to come out a couple days after I had purchased the big deal. He gave me some good suggestions on what he found during the inspection.

Everything went well. I was told my insulation was fine. The service man pointed that my humidity setting on my furnace was too high causing condensation to form in the attic. I appreciated the advice.

There were no troubles with scheduling and they were able to come out quickly. They spent about half an hour completing the deal. Everything was fine and I think that they were really good. However, I have had other companies provide the same estimate at no cost. That is the only reason I did not give them an A for price. They seem to do good work and seem to be good guys. I have not decided if I will go forward with any additional work, but I may hire them if so.

It turned out very good. It was just an attic inspection, it met my expectations. They were on time, thorough and very informative.

They quoted us $370 for the first 90 minutes with a 2-man crew, pointing out that 2-man crews were required for safety. Any additional time required would be at $95 per man per hour. At the appointed time, one workman arrived, stating that he always worked alone. Due to the recent heavy snowfalls, and the then-current extremely warm thaw temps, we were sort of "over a barrel," so we let the lone workman proceed. He was extremely courteous, personal, and thorough, even showing us photos from his smart phone of the work done. My only complaint is that 1 man cannot do the work of two. We paid for a 2-man crew, and got a 1-man crew's work. This is simply another contractor who tells you one thing, and then does another, because he knows you have little choice once you've 'gotten into bed' with them. They know you don't have time to exercise any other option, and count on you to not be rude enough to just cancel at the last minute. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

They were excellent. They were prompt and viable vendors. I would've used them but I went in another direction.

They performed a roof check and seal. Waited for estimate on new roof but they never got back to me then stated they would have to come back because first guy never completed paperwork and didn't work there anymore!

I was in a jam with my new insurance co. they said I needed to replace my roof or I would be cancelled.Apex sent over David Downs to do the estimate.After being on my roof for several minutes Dave told me I did not need a roof at all. He told me it was in good shape for at least 10 years more.Honesty is something we don't see to often any more.He went back to his office and emailed a letter to me to forward to the insurance co. With this the insurance co. will no longer be cancelling my new policy.Thank you Apex Exteriors for your honesty! When ever I need outside work for my home you will be the first one I call. You can feel safe with this company!

They were very quick about getting the quote and the first 1/3 of the payment, but it took a while to get the actual roofing job scheduled. Luckily I didn't have any major rain in the interim so it was not that big of a deal. The job was scheduled to start about a month after the original quote. After some delays from the electric company (ComEd) on covering the power lines, the job was finally scheduled to start (about an extra week due to ComEd, about 3 weeks due to Apex). Although I was given a 7:00 AM start time, the crew showed up at about 11:00 AM. This was VERY unprofessional, in my opinion. I had cancelled customer meetings, told my wife I could not help with things she needed done, and had someone else take my daughter to school because I was sitting around waiting for the crew to get to my home and start for 4 hours. Once they arrived, they did not have the proper materials for the job on hand and said they needed to come back the next day. Again, not optimal as now I needed to miss ANOTHER day of work. As it rained for the next 2 days, the job was further delayed. Once they got started, they did a great job on the roof (as far as I can tell...we'll see during the next heavy rain.) However, the crew was extremely inconsiderate of my personal property. They simply threw the materials off of the roof onto trees and flower beds, left trash, boxes and scrap materials to blow around my yard, into my neighbor's yards and all around the neighborhood for 4 days (multiple people complained about blowing debris in their yards). The bottom line is that while it was a bit unprofessional and pretty costly, the work appears to be well done and I finally have a flat roof that will not leak (fingers crossed). Apex was the only roofer I could find who specifically does flat residential roofing, so I didn't really have many options. I would use them again, but I would probably make sure I spoke to the manager about these issues prior to starting the job. Also, give yourself AT LEAST 3 weeks for ComEd to cover the power lines.

Everything went smoothly from our initial contact to completion. David, the sales rep, was very helpful and answered all of my questions, and was not pushy at all. Larry and the crew were punctual, professional, and did a great job installing and cleaning up. The bid was slightly lower than the other two that I obtained, plus they gave me the Angie's List discount. The roof looks great! I'm very happy with how things went and I would definitely recommend Apex to others.

Look above - siding, fascia and soffit and downspouts are done. Waiting for the skylight and door to come in (on order) and the job will be complete. It looks like a new house. When I drive up I get a thrill each time.

I probably should not have bought the deal and had them come out. It wasn't their fault, but I did not get much for the money I spent

As we embarked on our project, replacement of a 2800 square foot flat roof & under hang, we contacted 6 roofing and exterior companies. Right of the bat, APEX approach was superior to all of the rest. Initially the sales person, Dave, came in took measurements and took a core sample of the roof. The second visit APEX sent a team including the operations director, Larry, to go over the different variables of the project and review material options. They did a mockup of the fascia and a 3D model as well as roof cad drawing. All this was done prior to signing a contract which really made the decision very easy to select APEX. APEX execution was superb, they had a team lead at the job that interfaced with us and gave us daily updates. The operation director stopped at the job almost daily and let us knows exactly what was going on if any decisions needed to be made. The crew cleaned up daily and really made a difficult project feel like a breeze. APEX attention to detail was superb! Larry often pointed out concerns before we brought it out and he followed up with the punch list to the tee. The team was able to preserve the architectural detail of our modern home and my wife and I are ecstatic with the results of the project. We will be using APEX again for another exterior project next spring and we look forward to working with APEX team.

On Angie's List, APEX claims to give free estimates, so I called them re: inspecting my roof for damage due to a previous family living in my home having an internet 'dish' installed, then removed from my roof, and getting an estimate for any necessary repairs. However, when I called to schedule an appointment for the 'free estimate' I was told that they would charge $339 just to come out to my home. I reminded her that they advertise free estimates, and she replied that $339 or more is what their estimate is, that they would charge $339 just to come out and determine the issue, and would charge more than that if the repair exceeded that amount. They should NOT be able to claim 'free estimates' on Angie's List when, in fact, they are charging you $339 just to come out and look at the job. Misleading, at best.

We are very happy with them. The price was reasonable. We felt like they have really good workmanship. They replaced a lot of rotten wood on our windows and we felt like they really cared about doing quality work.

Some extras were done for the attic insulation, however the installation was not correct. The company agreed to not charge for the extra because it was incorrectly installed.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. This is the first time I used this company. They're probably a fine company, I had no problems with them.

Not what was advertised, but I did receive good recommendations about needed external maintenance and replacement.
