Description of Work: They replaced a broken clutch cable on my mower (as I asked) and did a basic tuneup (which I had not requested). The bill came in about $25 higher than estimated, and the mower seems to be working right again.

+ -1 moreThey seemed to be pretty good. I thought their price is fair this time. I don't like the fact that they have a minimum because I had used them before and it was originally for blade sharpening; it seems like $70 for a blade sharpening is a lot. The quality was pretty good. I'm glad that they are there and they are providing the service. If I were them, I would either lower the minimum or just get rid of it.
Description of Work: I used Skokie Lawnmower for lawn mower repair. I brought my lawn mower to them.

+ -1 moreWent in with a broken pull cord on a lawn mower. You have to enter the shop from the rear, so don"t bother to park on the street. Go around and enter the alley and follow the alley to the shop. You can't miss it. It is where a large number of mowers and snow blowers are parked. The owner or manager [ not sure which but he was in charge ] immediate came to meet me and looked at the broken part and explained that the cords usually break when the spring inside the pull start device snaps. He showed me that that was in fact the case. He gave me the option of having the part ordered; but suggested that he could simply provide me with a used part with a brand new cord for only $18.00. The used part was in very good condition and worker perfectly.

Description of Work: Replaced a broken pull cord on my rototiller engine. Called me to inform me that the carberator needed cleaning. Made repairs and engine runs fine. They take a little longer than I would like, but rototiller was ready when promised. Would use them again.

Description of Work: My snowblower broke and they came and picked it up in 3 days, one day earlier than promised. They fixed it and returned it in less than a week, just in time for the next snowstorm.

Description of Work: The pull start cord snapped on my lawn mower. When I attempted to replace the cord myself, I discovered that the spring apparently had broken. I rushed over to Skokie Lawnmower on a Saturday morning to see what could be done. Even though the shop was packed with mowers to be repaired and numerous workers were clearly very busy, the person I dealt with stopped what he was doing and immediately helped me. He explained that the spring inside the pull start unit sometimes brakes when the cord snaps. He did not have an new unit, but he had a used unit that he assured me would fit. He immediately replace the cord in that replacement unit and I was out the door in less that 10 minutes. The replacement fit perfectly and operates as it should; all for just $18.00!

+ -1 moreEverything went great - the guys said it might take up to 7 days, but they finished the work in 2 days. The price was reasonable, and they helped me load it into my car.
Description of Work: My lawnmower was dying every 30 seconds unless I would push the primer button. Skokie lawnmower replaced carburetor on lawnmower, inspected all other parts, replaced oil and cleaned the mower up.
