From the get-go, very impressed with the folks at Shavitz. The young ladies who are the "handshake" for the company - Teri and Jasmine, are very professional, courteous and really seem to like what they are doing. Joe A was the technican who came out to my home. Loved the fact that he arrived even earlier than scheduled. I found Joe to be extremely personable, professional and really knew what he was talking about. (I have had some service providers in the past where I knew more about HVAC than they did). I appreciated how respectful he was of my home - the shoe covers are a great idea. He took care of the annual service plus replaced a part that was faulty. He took the time to explain about my A/C unit that others in the past have not. Since my units are 24 years old, have scheduled a project manager to come out to quote a new system, etc. All in all - very pleased with the service I received from Shavitz! Thank you again, Joe for a job very well done!

The day before the weekday appointment I received a phone message saying that the window for the service would be 11am-noon. At 1:15 pm on the day of the appointment I received a call from the office saying that they had to cancel the appointment because of the rain storm. I had used a vacation day from work in order to schedule the service on a weekday. When I asked if I could reschedule it for a Saturday, they said that would be ok, but that it would cost more. I told them that I'd call them back, but I probably won't.

He was very polite and very nice. He was on time. When I called around I thought they were better than the lower costs A/C providers. They are also recommended the manufacturer of my air conditioner. He also sold me a package for the heat and also put a booster for my three story home.

It was a positive experience overall. They are a family run business so they take a lot of pride on their name and reputation. All the service people who came out were extremely communicative and made sure I understood what they did for me and why. There were some diagnostics which had to be done and it would turn out to be expensive and they suggested me to replace the furnace. They were very responsive to many questions we had and the owner spoke to my husband over the phone for a long time. They were honest and were making a good recommendation. They are high on quality.

We are still getting used to our new home, and figured that we'd better get the HVAC system tuned up for the summer. So, after researching some of the local options on Angie's/Yelp we decided on Shavitz based upon the reviews. When Glen H. and James C. showed up, they were friendly, courteous and ready to get right to work. I really appreciated their consistent use of their booties as they moved throughout the house, helping to protect our floors and carpets. They were professional and efficient, as they tuned up our multi-zone AC system. As they worked they were kind enough to explain the system to me, as the new home owner. They were even really kind to our active yellow lab, who insisted upon supervising their work, and ultimately conned them into throwing his tennis ball while their tests were running. The end result was a noticeably improved AC system, cleaned filters (that I didn't even know existed!), and a detailed recommendation plan for maintaining and updating our aging HVAC system. Based on their performance, detail and professionalism, I decided to enroll in their year-round maintenance plan, because I felt that we would be well taken care of. Glen H. and James C. did nice work at a fair price and left our home better than they found it... I can't ask for too much more.

We are on the Shavitz maintenance plan, which means we pay an annual fee for them to visit our home seasonally and inspect / maintain our heating and A/C systems. One benefit of having them do this is that they are good at anticipating potential problems on the horizon. It's never welcome news to learn that you may need major work within the next 6 - 12 months, but we feel it's better than being surprised by a broken-down furnace or A/C system on an especially cold or hot day. Shavitz keeps extremely meticulous electronic records about our systems, which gives them a more accurate picture about how system performance may be changing (or not) over the years. When working with companies like this, it is natural to wonder how honest they are being about whether you actually need to have work done, but in our experience we have found Shavitz to be extremely honest and transparent about what work is necessary, what work would be nice to do, and what might not be necessary. Another benefit is that Shavitz often uses "flat rate pricing," which means they can often give you a guaranteed price for doing a particular job, which is unaffected by whatever number of hours the technician requires to do the work. We have found these prices to be competitive and we appreciate the peace of mind that comes from not having any surprises about price. We have worked with a few Shavitz representatives during our time with them, but the person who has done most of the work for us is Chris. Chris is extremely knowledgeable about heating and A/C systems and always gives us complete and helpful explanations about the state of our systems, what systems are in good (or only fair) shape, and what things we can do to maintain the health of our systems. Whenever he has done work for us, he has treated the job as if he was doing work for a family member. He often goes the extra mile, and he never chooses the easy way to do something unless it is also the right way. He works extremely hard and has very high standards.

The service was great! Everything was fine.

They are excellent. Knowledgable, courteous and prompt. I found them thru a HVAC Industry forum upon realizing that my previous HVAC company was ripping me off. Over the last 3 years, Shaevitz performed prompt accurate corrections of the bad work from the former contractor on a pair of hot water steam boilers. These are uncommon, but not a problem for this firm. The have also provide similar work recently on a hot water boiler. I will continue to use them in the future and would reccomend them to anyone requiring this type of mantainence and repair.

Our furnace stopped working so I scheduled a tune-up with Shavitz. They arrived to perform the tune-up and informed me they would take a look at the problem but most likely I would need more than the general maintenance guy to help. He did his best and isolated the problem. Shavitz was ready and willing to take the necessary actions to get our heat pumping again.

My furnace went out and got an initial quote from another vendor. Got a second quote from Shavitz that was a little higher, but they sweetened the deal with an additional discount and a year of their service package that brought both quotes very close together. I went with Shavitz because it was a big job to get done in one day and the other vendor was a very small company. I made the right choice. Their customer service was just great. Very responsive and polite staff. They started with 2 technicians and when they saw that the job was going long, but they brought an extra guy on mid-day to make sure they could finish that day. Their project manager checked in with me a few days after the job was done to make sure everything was working well. They filled out all the warranty and rebate paperwork for me.

They are an excellent company. Their customer service was excellent. They were competitively priced and very prompt.

Shavitz came for a maintenance and tuneup of our older furnace. That technician thought that there was one area of concern and made notes for a more senior technician to look at. In the meantime, we called our home warranty company to have them come and repair our system. That company was useless and after arguing with them about the need to repair our system without resolution, we called Shavitz back to make the necessary repairs. The tech was honest about not repairing a part that they originally thought needed repair, but did find an issue somewhere else and made his recommendations for repair which we did. Very happy with their service.

Overall a very pleasan experience.

Mirek was the Shavitz technician who performed the work. Mirek was outstanding. He was prompt, thorough, careful, and best of all HE LISTENED TO WHAT I WANTED AND ASKED FOR FEEDBACK. Rare to have a technician of this caliber. Kudos to him. I would use Shavitz again for sure esp with Mirek I think he might have upsold me some other work without him knowing !

All they did was tighten a large bolt on a radiator - but talked me through why they were being cautious and what the next steps would be. I felt well taken care of.

After having another company come out and perform a seasonal inspection of my AC unit, which resulted in a part replacement, which later resulted in another part breaking down, I decided to have a few companies bid out the work for replacing my AC unit. Shavitz was one of the three companies that came out. I was very impressed with the amount of detailed inspection they performed in reviewing my house, the ducts, the location of the existing unit and furnace. They spent the most time carefully evaluating my environment and suggesting alterations that would allow me to use the full power of the AC and furnace. No other company that came out to bid for this work did any of this. The installation went smoothly and throughout a very hot summer, the air conditioning worked perfectly. There are many providers out there, I would never use anyone else to perform AC or Furnace work for me other than Shavitz and recommend them highly to all my friends and neighbors.

They were very professional, very knowledgeable, and did a good job of explaining our system's efficiency. Furthermore, I would recommend them to anyone looking to replace a unit. However, it seemed like they were trying to steer us in the direction of buying an entirely new system when it was unnecessary in fact.

Their service was fine. We were very satisfied. They were on budget and worked under extreme weather conditions of 100+ degrees. I had no complaints.

Even in the sweltering heat of July, the servicemen were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. The installation work in my unit was done with minimal disruption to me, and the unit, ducts, etc. in my utility closet look clean, thoughtfully organized, and well installed. Much better than the HVAC work done by another company earlier. The estimates were accurate, and the equipment/service fairly priced.

From first call, diagnostic work, verifying size of unit was correct to installation no problems or issues arose.

Since we were in urgent need of a replacement furnace/air conditioning system we called several companies based on Angie's List and BBB evaluations. Jaron, the Shavitz representative, listened carefully to our requirements. After inspecting the outside air conditioning unit, he was one of only two reps who used shoe covers after coming in from the (rather muddy) outside. He did a thorough inspection of the inside units and the venting system, and explained in detail the systems that would be most appropriate. He was able to point out a number of factors regarding our existing components, is extremely knowledgeable. and clearly an experienced professional.The price he quoted was reasonable but, as this was a major expense, we did feel it necessary to go with the lower price offered by another company. We would certainly recommend a company represented by a professional such as he.

I was told that anytime an appointment is required within 48 hours it is considered an emergency and therefore requires a higher fee. I called yesterday, Thursday, and was able to get an appointment, same day, between 4-7pm with a 30 min call ahead. I purchased the Angie's deal for AC/Heater servicing for $89 and they cut a deal with me that charged another $45 for the emergency visit. I actually saved over $60 then for same day service! I did call them around 6:40pm to confirm I was still on the books, afraid I had been bumped since the day was drawing to a close. I was told that my guy was on his way, just tied up at a long appointment and he was still there. The women, Linda, was really nice by the way. When the tech showed up, we was very friendly and although, obviously tired from a super long day, he was at the condo until past 9pm fixing ALL the problems!! I was told that my friend needs to clean her filters more often (it was gross!)-1st issue; that the actual wire connecting the programmable thermastat had broken (probably due to a handy job that scraped too much of the rubber coating off the wire and actually cut into the wire itself) so the thermastate wasn't even connected-2nd isssue; the outdoor unit was covered in debres and needed to be serviced because he wasn't running properly-3rd issue; there was a small gas leak in the unit that could be smelled when it was turned on-4th issue (and I was there with my family!!); and once everything was cleaned, tested and finally running, there could still be some debre in the internal coils (the A-frame part of the duct) that would not have been replaced when my friend had a new heater installed last fall-what number are we on?? He warned that as a condo building (4 flat) one of the AC units wasn't up to code as it was partially under the deck and therefore wasn't vented properlly (sooo illegal) and that my friends unit was the best looking of them all at this point (which isn't say much!). He did warn, that since the washer and dryer shared a very small room with the Heater and AC unit that she would have to be aware that a higher than average dust/debre amount would always be an issue in her unit and she really should have each one (heater and AC) serviced/cleaned every year. The service man was really helpful, explained a lot and I really felt like he was doing the proper work to ensure a good outcome. I would suggest the building get on their schedule to have all the units serviced at once each year because it's pretty obvious no one does, or plans to do any of that until it's too late. I'm just glad that I was able to save her a little money with the Angie's List deal, because the tech did have to charge time and a half since we wanted him to stay and fix everything rather than send someone next week so the bill was higher than normal for such services-again, he was there until after 9pm on a Thursday night! But when the 90s hit this weekend we will be comfy in the 70 degree condo!!
