Ruben is the best plumber. He came back several times to make sure the work was done correctly.

Called in the morning to see if come and unblock toilet that day (didn't have an appointment) Spoke to Plumber himself, not a receptionist - always better. He said he would come over at 10:30am - arrived on time. Had a look - told me the price for rodding it. Unblocked! As a first time customer he told me he'd give 10% discount (I already had the Angie's List 10% coupon) - but nice to know that he was going to give it to me anyway. Quick & Easy - very satisfied!

Last winter was rough and it burst both pipes leading outside the house to the faucets where I connect the garden hose. I only discovered this recently, when I finally decided to water. I called RB plumbing and they came and replaced the burst pipe and faucets, as well as providing shut-off valves, so I could make sure the pipes are dry and don't burst next winter. I'm 100% satisfied with the speed, quality, responsiveness of RB and would use them again.

Great experience -- could not be better. Owner answered the phone while on another call, called back in a few minutes. I explained clogged drain problem. He promised service in 45 minutes to an hour -- and young guy arrived as promised. Before taking action he looked carefully at the plumbing and drainage in the kitchen, bathroom, basement -- found a simple solution which he explained. It worked specifically because we have an older home with no air vent on the sink. By blocking one of the two sink drains and turning on the disposal, the clog was pushed into the sewer and no rutting out was needed. He charged only for a service call and was out in no time. Bravo!

We call RB Plumbing because they will answer the phone (or you can email and they will answer that too) usually within 30 minutes, and they are VERY reliable. You can make an appointment (try doing that with any other N Shore plumber!) or if it's an emergency they will get to your house as fast as they can. In our case we made an appointment - we had already purchased a Moen kitchen sink faucet and had some questions about the soap dispenser (which we would have needed to drill holes for - they don't do that and for good reason - granite will crack and my husband and I use different soap anyway!) Reuben came out personally to answer some additional questions about a decorative plate that would have fit around the faucet, and to make a long story short, in our case it would not have been "decorative" - it would have been a nuisance since we did not have the 2 extra holes to attach it to. So eventually, it would have been moving around and been a mess to clean. (I had called Moen before he arrived and they said "Sure, you can install the decorative plate even if you don't have 3 holes! No problem!" and they told me to hang on while they got someone to explain it step by step TO ME (????) NO thanks.) In any case their prices for all the work they did and all the questions they answered was very reasonable. Ricky and his father Ricardo did the work and looking through past invoices they have usually taken care of our house and its myriad plumbing problems. We had been lied to by one of Evanston's biggest plumbers (Kerrigan's - Angie may remove the name, but just in case). I believe I've told that story before - entire basement must be re-piped or soon it would fill with water.....etc. Back to the bathroom - everything was working fine and we've had no trouble all weekend - thanks again RB Plumbing for running a quality business!

They are honest, good, and very responsive! Today the good plumber Ricardo came within half an hour of my call, "This is kind of an emergency!" The sump pump and back-up pump were both working hard in the downpour, but even combined they weren't strong enough. At first he thought we should get a better, bigger-capacity back-up pump, which would have been close to $2000, but then he thought about it and called his boss, and they decided we should just get a bigger-capacity ejector pump in the main pit, which would be half the cost. We have an emergency pit that is connected to the main pit and there are 2 back-up pumps in there, so we don't need 3rd back-up. Our previous plumber just kept changing the sump pump when it died, so we kept having the same problem. I like how RB thinks creatively and gives an alternative to tackle the problem, with less cost to their customer.

I called RB Plumbing at 3pm on a Sunday and Ruben immediately picked up the phone and was over at our home within half an hour. He had both pilot lights re-lit within 20 minutes and by 4pm we were back to having hot water. Ruben was quick, professional and incredibly nice to understand us needing this fixed on a Sunday. His prices are very reasonable - $75 for an emergency visit and serviced within an hour is wonderful and as such, I will call Ruben for any future plumbing issues. I highly recommend RB Plumbing.

Had a clogged drain line and dinner guests coming in a few hours. Called RB Plumbing. Their response was positive and fast. Wil showed up very quickly. The clog was especially stubborn, but he got the job done. He also pointed out the source of some leaks we had been experiencing for a while. After he left unfortunately the pipes under the sink leaked worse than ever. I don't believe he wrecked anything. I think this is just old fittings that have lived their life, (old drain basket and old garbage disposal). When the pipe fittings were mildly disturbed by the drain routing that was the last straw and they began leaking

Terrible service. Plumber came out ontime. Claimed the faucets would not fit the sinks-even though the ended up fitting after I called another plumber. Worse,they spoke almost no English and clearly could not even read English directions. Good luck with them. You will need it.

Ruben was very responsive, I received a phone call the same night I called for a quote. I had explained that I obtained a quote form another company and Ruben beat that price. He and a worker came that evening to take a look at my unfinished crawlspace which had pooled up water in areas. By the next morning at 10:00 am JULIE had already been notified, came out and a permit was pulled from the village to begin work. They rodded the sewer, and determined where the collapse in the sewer pipe was by fishing a camera through the pipe. By the following morning at 10:00 am the job was completed.

Our upstairs bathtub was leaking into our dining room below. RB Plumbing explained the possible causes of the leak, the steps involved to fix it, and the estimated cost. Despite being booked up that day, RB Plumbing appeared at our house within 30 minutes of our call. They had to cut some small access holes in our ceiling drywall, but quickly completed the repair and came in below the estimated cost. All in all, a prompt, courteous, and professional provider!

We called on a Sunday and quickly received a callback. The plumber came out within an hour after the call. He was friendly, professional and efficient. We received a discount because we found them on Angie's list. We felt the price was fair, especially since we had been quoted a much higher rate by another company the night before.

He did a wonderful job! He caught the leak from the old toilet. He cleaned up well after himself and we will use him again in the future to replace the toilet. He was very kind to come back to fix the rotting.

Since we moved into our new to us 1958 house in April, we're needed quite a bit of plumbing work. Ruben and his crew have always been very responsive and professional, and done excellent work at fair prices. They use top quality parts (copper supply lines, Zoeller pumps, AO Smith hot water heater). They also do a good job cleaning up after themselves. Most importantly, they can come out on short notice when necessary. I'll be calling them whenever I need plumbing done

Very early in the morning the toilet in our main bathroom clogged. I called the business number and explained the problem. Although their schedule was full, they squeezed us in due to the fact company is coming for a holiday dinner about 5pm. Will arrived much earlier than expected, brought in the necessary equipment and fixed the clog quickly. I had said I found their listing in Angie's List; Will gave me an "Angie's" discount without my even asking. That made the service call quite reasonable by area standards. Everyone I spoke with (on the phone) was helpful and polite. Will was pleasant and knowledgeable about the problem. Since RB Plumbers does general plumbing work with extended hours, they will definitely be back when problems arise.

They were great. They were very nice people to work with and I highly recommend them.

Our home is 108 years old and nothing goes smoothly. Ruben and Richie are very consciencious and understand old buildings well. I am going to have them return for additional projects.

For the 2nd job, which costed about 700, we were remodeling a kitchen. I didn't realize that this old kitchen had a drain connection that was higher than average at the wall. We bought a new sink which was much deeper than the existing and didn't realize that the connection wouldn't work. A ton of custom pipe work and it was all good. The first time i used RB they installed a new Tub, and tub/shower fixtures, installed a toilet. All of this was tough work as the building is over 100 years old and all of the existing conditions were strange. The tub BARELY fit into place. At one point they thought it wouldn't slide in without busting through another wing wall, but with some extra muscle they got it in place without a scratch. The toilet -- we originally thought it might need a new cast iron flange, but they managed to jerryrig the new toilet in place with different bolts. Where the existing toilet was wobbly the new toilet is perfectly secure, even with an iffy-flange. These guys are great to work with, very responsive, capable for tough/weird fixes, and generally ready to go when called. Ruben is great and pleasant to work with, as was his team. I will definitely be using them in the future.

These guys were great! They came to our house on short notice and we're fast and efficient.

RB Plumbing was called on an emergency basis and responded quickly . An appointment was scheduled for the same day and they repaired our flood control system and rodded the lines. They were prompt, efficient, honest and only did the work that was necessary. We are extremely happy with the service provided and will definitely use them again in the future.

I saw last night that my basement toilet appeared clogged, Draino did nothing. I called them at 10:00, they were here at 11:00, found it wasn't just a simple toilet clog, as turning on the sink caused the toilet to overflow. They said it'd cost $395 to get a machine to clear the line, and would be a few hours as they had a few gigs during the day already. I said ok. Another guy came with the machine at 1:00 pm, we were done by 3:00. I don't have an external clean out for the line, just a internal clean out hole in the basement floor, so there was sewage backup into the basement, they used my hose to clean up. They rinsed the floor and then wiped the floor off with paper towels, I didn't smell anything after they were done. They recommended I install an external clean out since it's less messy, but weren't pushy at all.I joked about paying them in bit coins, and they said no thanks, but credit card was fine. Very professional, in and out, no mess.

My husband and I are very pleased with the service that Will provided. He was very professional and knowledagble about how to clean the main sewer. He found an old plug from which he could get the snake into out main line drainage to the curb that two previous plumbers had overlooked. He cut the plug apart when it would not open and replaced it with a new one. Now we not only have the problem fixed, but we know how to clean out the line more effectively in the future.
