We spoke with Ruben and he offered to get someone over right away (even though it was Thursday at 4pm!). Will, Ruben's brother, arrived 20 minutes later, carried out the work quickly, and there was no mess! What we liked best is that he quoted us a price for the pump replacement and stuck to it. No extra charges, fees etc. We will definitely use them for all our plumbing needs.

He came out the very next morning after I called him. They are very knowledgeable. They were able to discover what was wrong and fix it while I waited. They were prompt and clean. It was as if they were never there, it was a very good experience.

It was a pleasure working with Ruben from start to finish. He responded to my initial call quickly and was out to provide an estimate the same day. He even accomodated our work schedule by coming out to give the estimate at 6:30 pm. After thoroughly looking over the project and asking questions to make sure he understood what my end-goal was, he gave a price for the job. Ruben and an associate came out the following week to do the work. They were scheduled to arrive at 9:00 am on Thursday. At 6:30 on Wednesday evening Ruben saw that he might not be finished with another job and called to let me know he would be at my house closer to 10:00 or 10:15. The phone call to let me know he was running late was a touch of professionalism that most contractors lack. It was greatly appreciated. They got to my house at 10:00, sharp, and got right to work. Ruben explained the job to his associate and got him started. Ruben left for a time, but his associate worked dilligently while he was gone. The final product looks good and works like a charm. Ruben explained that his work was warranted for a year. The price of the job actually came in below what Ruben initially estimated. I would call Ruben again for any plumbing needs that I might have. I'd recommend him to my friends without reservation.

Ruben and his assistant arrived right on time at 8:30 AM. They pulled the washing machine out of the laundry closet and opened up the wall to look at the drain pipe. As suspected, there wasn't a P trap installed in the laundry tub drain line, which meant sewer gas was coming up the drain pipe and into the washing machine and closet. They put in a new P trap and cleaned up. Luckily I had a board big enough to cover the hole, and Ruben installed it for me. He and his assistant placed the washing machine back in the laundry closet. The job took a little over an hour. I have hired Ruben before (see my post from 10/8/2010) and I will hire him again!

I called Monday night when i discovered the leak -they came out right on time Tuesday morning. They investigated the leak -added an extension to the pipe so water would not build up then investigated and tightened every aspect of the pipes under my kitchen sink (to disposal, etc). Apparently, a lot of them were not tightend when installed. They also investigated for mold (since i was worried because i thought i might have had a slow leak for awhile) but didn't find any. They were polite and professional, and I got the Angie's list discount.

Originally, we had Ruben come over to give us a quote on moving our laundry room from the main floor to the 2nd floor, and while his quote was much less than what another plumber had quoted us, we decided to wait on that due to our budget. However, we did ask if he could install a gas line for our new stove that was being delivered, and I said I would contact him as soon as the stove was delivered. I emailed him as soon as the stove was delivered in the morning, and he was literally at our place within 15 minutes. Gave us a quote, had to run to do another estimate and came back in about an hour to do the work. Ruben is great, and obviously takes great pride in the quality of his work and how it can affect the home's appearance (ie. trying to minimize the amount of wall needing to be altered). He's very personable, extremely responsive and is definitely someone we will use again in the future!

I noticed a sewer smell in the basement and wanted to get help quickly b/c the smell was strong and we recently moved into the home. I called RB Plumbing around 3 pm on a Friday, and they were at my door by 4 pm. He tested the ejector pump, answered my questions about the pump, and recommended sealing the pit. He stated that I could seal it myself, but I didn't want to be around the smell. He went out to get the proper materials, came back, and sealed the pit. No more smell.

Ruben is punctual, friendly, and does good work. He arrived on time, analyzed the problem, and repaired the leaking bathtub faucet. He's optimistic that the repair will hold and that we won't need to replace the entire faucet.

Called RB Plumbing even though it was past 6:00 PM. Received a call withing 1/2 hour and they were working in our kitchen after 45 minutes. They did a great job unclogging the sink and installing the new handles. Letft everything very clean. He is very courteous and pleasant and explained the prices for every thing he was doing. He really knows his business and we also asked about a number of options for the sink and he explained everthing giving us tips on how to avoid trouble before it happens. I would definitely recommend his services and will keep him in our list!

I made an appointment for noon on 10/16/10. He never showed up. He never called to let me know he wasn't going to show up.

This was my first experience with sewer line rodding and drain rodding. Ruben was professional and confident to get the job done, especially with not knowing exactly what he was up against. He and his team arrived exactly on time at 8:30 AM and stayed the entire day until 4 PM making sure everything got cleaned out. The guys cleaned up after themselves. After rodding one of the main lines and removing a very large clump of tree roots, a hole was left in the pipe where the root was. And then scoping after the rodding, another minor hole was discovered about 4 ft away. I anticipated having issues with tree roots, so this was no surprise to me. Ruben will be putting together an estimate for the repair work. I definitely will hire Ruben again. His prices were very fair, compared to other estimates I received. Be sure to ask for the Angie's List discount!

They were absolutely terrific!!! I left a message on a Sunday and the owner called back before they opened on Monday morning. They initially thought our sewer line in the basement might be clogged and were thinking about some serious digging, but after thoroughly checking, they determined this was not the problem, saving us a lot of money (another plumber had lied to us about it). They were extremely polite; there was always someone who spoke English, they explained what they were doing, and at the end of the day the owner stopped by to be sure we were satisfied. They also gave us an estimate to fix some piping in another part of the basement which leads to an outside spigot; here again another plumber had lied to us telling us we would have to spend at least $5,000 to replace these pipes. R&B said it was a simple fix and would be about $200. We need to have a toilet replaced and they explained how they could do it without causing major tile problems in the bathroom; that's another job we'll have them do when the time comes - including the toilet, they estimated no more than $500. I can't say enough about this company, having dealt with so many plumbers on the N. Shore for years - I waited 5 months to file this report and everything is still working great, including the disposal!

I was getting ready to host a dinner party, and was frustrated that the antique toilet in my recently-purchased mid-century modern ranch home was running after each flush. I didn't want my guests to have to deal with jiggling the handle, so I figured I would try to replace the flushing mechanism inside the tank. That was a big mistake, and I knew I'd made it when I pulled out a pipe along with the new mechanism I was trying to install. I still had a house to clean and dinner to make for my guests, and my tension headache had started. I logged into Angie's List, found RB Plumbing, and dialed the phone. Reuben answered the phone and when I explained the situation, he said he wasn't far away and he was willing to come and help me with my dilemma. He took one look at my toilet and said that I would probably be better off buying a new one rather than having him rebuild the existing one. I agreed, and I ran off to Menard's with a list of instructions he provided while he dismantled the old toilet (he said that it would be less hassle for me to go and buy what I wanted, and it would be less time and less cost as a result). By the time I got back, he was ready to put the new toilet in. My headache began to fade, and before he left, Reuben cheerfully answered a few additional plumbing questions I had sustained since purchasing the home. He told me when he arrived that he doesn't charge extra for emergency visits...I think I was lucky to catch him just after finishing a job, when he had time to run over. He is a very nice person and an extremely knowledgeable plumber. The instructions he gave me before I went to Menard's were clear and made it easy for me to avoid any pitfalls in purchasing the toilet (he gave me a price range so I would avoid buying one that wouldn't last). I felt that the price he charged was fair, and I am very happy with the toilet and the installation. I would definitely hire him again...he instantly became my plumber of choice because he saved my life that day! I had to redouble my efforts to finish dinner in time, but the dinner party went well in large part thanks to a little just-in-time plumbing help from RB Plumbers.

Great service. Very prompt and they did great work. The gentleman who owns the company did the work with some helpers. He has two additional plumbers who are licensed as apprentice plumbers. They had the best price, half that as another reputable plumber. Very fair and thorough. I'd use them for all plumbing services going forward.

Ruben was great! He made me feel like we would be taken care of and the price was cheaper than an earlier quote from someone else and he showed me in detail everything that he was going to do. It was so stress-free!

RB Plumbing took out an old bathroom vanity and put in a new one that my wife had chosen and purchased at Home Depot. Originally, I thought I could do the job, but on further consideration the task was far beyond my capabilities. It was a smart choice to go with professional plumbers. When the old vanity was removed we discovered that the original drain connection had not been properly fitted; so that hidden problem was fixed. Once the vanity was installed and sealed in place with invisible calk the final product had a "show room quality" look to it. The new vanity looks great and works perfectly. I paid about twice as much for parts as I did for labor; and when there is that kind of ratio between parts and labor I always feel like I got a great deal. The RB plumbers were always very courteous and professional. They truly did do a great job.

We had a bit of trouble getting connected due to Ruben being on an emergency call but once set up, the problem was solved in a jiffy and Ruben apologized for any confusion in communication and even lowered the basic hourly charge since the time was so short and I'd had to call twice. Don't hesitate to try him.

Good. Tim was the plumber. He rodded the tub within 10 minutes of coming by, tried supplier for part on old toilet mechanism (which we had another plumber try to find as well) and while his request of supplier of the part came up short, he gave good advice on what our next steps should be. Was honest and direct, professional and efficient. Estimate regarding flood control system was in-line with what our new neighbors have told us they've spent. Ruben called me within minutes of my emailing him requesting service for Saturday, but he was able to send someone same day (Friday) while I was home already, saving us having to waste time on Saturday and paying more (possibly) for a Saturday call. Tim arrived within 30 minutes of me getting off the phone with Ruben and was in and out within an hour. Price was fair for what was done and very little mess to deal with (just sweeping). I'm ecstatic to have a tub that drains properly now! Will definitely call back regarding installation of new toilet once we finalize style and purchase. Thank you Ruben (and Tim).

Came to my house within a few hours of placing a phone call. Saw the situation, had to go buy a few parts, returned, and quickly completed the job. Left old valve for me to see.

This was my second positive experience with RB. The plumber was prompt, knowledgeable, professional, and the work performed was excellent. When we discovered later that one of the toilets had an additional problem and would require replacement, RB offered to give us a credit for the work already completed at the time we replace the toilet. Seemed very fair to us.

Tim arrived on time, assessed the situations and resolved both issues with complete efficiency. The bathroom needed routing as did the main outdoors. From arriving at my door to driving off with the job completed was exactly one hour.

Plumber arrived on the same day that I called. Finished the work quickly and well. Cleaned up afterwards. Very good service and I was completely satisfied.
