Excellent, would hire again.

I had just bought my house as-is, and there was virtually no hot water coming into the bathtub/shower -- just a trickle. I called RB Plumbing the morning after my move, and they came out the very same afternoon. It took quite a while for them to remove the old cartridge (over an hour), but the piece did seem to be legitimately stuck in there. Once the old cartridge was out, the new one went in without a hitch, and I've had great hot water pressure ever since.

A crew of 3 worked on each of these units in an efficient manner to replace all the old pipes and installed new shutoffs. It took 6-1/2 hrs and we all now have great water pressure in our sinks, showers & toilets. They did a great job and they were very professional and I recommend them very highly.

I contacted several plumbing companies to see if they could come out the same day (I called on a Friday morning), because I was going to be out of town starting on Monday. Nobody was able to come the same day except for RB Plumbing. They picked up the phone on the third ring and assured me someone would be out at 4pm (on a Friday, no less). Tim, one of the partners of the company, came to service my garbage disposal. He was engaging, efficient and gave me extra tips, such as using an Allen wrench (which he gave me because he had extra ones) to unclog the disposal in the future using a socket that was underneath it. He gave me a first-time users discount and was in and out in less than an hour. I'd highly recommend RB Plumbing & Sewer and will use them again.

They didn't show up. They called 30 minutes after the appointment to let me know that they were looking for my address in Chicago and were lost. I live in Wilmette. I have used them before and they were great. In this case, they didn't even show up. They are not reliable. I have switched to another plumbing company.

I had used a handyman to fix a Sloane valve on an older toilet. Toilet began running again and couldn't be shut off. I called Ruben after finding him on Angie's list kind of in a panic. He came right over and was able to assess the problem and shut off the water temporarily. The next day he bought the right parts and met me (he was even early) and the building engineer, as the building water had to be shut off to replace the Sloane valve and also the shutoff valve which had become stripped. He told me that the handyman had used the incorrect parts (for a newer toilet) and showed me exactly how they weren't fitting in the housing properly. I knew I had the right man for the job. He was done in 20 minutes and we were able to turn the building water back on. I am so glad to have found someone who really knows what he is doing.

I called Ruben early on a Friday morning and asked if he could send someone on Saturday. We had clogged pipes in our shower and the water pressure was practically nothing. He agreed to send his crew at 11:00. They called to say they had finished a job faster than expected and could come early if we liked, which we of course accepted. Johan and Riccardo went to work testing the fixtures etc. They determined the problem was in the pipes inside the bathroom wall. They explained in detail what was involved and called Ruben to have him explain all the options available. We accepted Ruben's plan and they opened the wall. Inside they found a problem with the connection from a previous plumber. Another call was placed to Ruben, who explained what needed to be done, and again offering us options. We agreed to a plan, the guys went to work and did a marvelous job. They removed the old pipes, removed the old faucet, handles and shower assembly. They even went to the store to buy the new one, though they offered us the option of buying it ourselves. They finished putting in new pipes, with the correct connection, and even plugged the holes in the wall that the handles had stuck through. When they were finished, they cleaned the area and if not for the hole in the wall, you would not even know they had been there.All in all a great experience. We will definitely use these guys again!

Our sump pump started running overtime while emptying our washing machine, and we experienced a backed-up toilet on the same day. We immediately called RB Plumbing, having used them several times in the past. Tim was out first thing the next morning. He inspected where the problems had occurred, and assessed that the cause was most likely a blocked up sewer line. It had been more than 2 years since we'd had the line rodded and we have many large trees in the area, so we agreed to have him go ahead and rod the line. While he was very friendly and happy to answer questions, he worked quickly and had all work completed within about 45 minutes of his initial arrival. He happily accepted our Angie's List coupon for $20 off, and thanked me when I said we'd be leaving a report about him and his company. It's been almost a week now, and the problem appears to be gone. We hope we don't have need for a plumber again for quite awhile, but we won't hesitate to call RB Plumbing at the first sign of a problem!

I contacted Ruben because of his reviews. He certainly lived up to them. We had a toilet that was leaking badly and needed all the "guts" replaced. He provided the parts (approx $100) and completed the work in a little over an hour. He took the time to trim the water supply hose so it fit well. He checked in the basement to confirm it wasn't leaking. He also left the bathroom cleaner than when he started. When i set up the appointment we didn't have the best connection (I was on a cell), so I may not have had the time written down correctly. I will definitely hire him again for any plumbing work.

Ruben showed up fast for an estimate. His quote was reasonnable compared to others, and he was able to start work quickly. Took a day & 1/2. Quick, clean, did the job well. Good for me

Went very smooth. Ruben and his crew were prompt, courteous, clean and professional. The work was completed exactly as explained during the preliminary visit / estimate. Excellent knowledge of Chicago water works, process and permits. Very, very happy with our experience with RB Plumbing.

The workers were punctual, respectful and worked hard considering this incredible heat!

Tim arrived very promptly and immediately set to work. He diagnosed the problem with our toilet that wouldn't quit running and replaced the mechanism quickly. The water valve on the pipe going into the wall was stuck and we'd been unable to budge it to shut off the water after numerous dosings with W-D 40 and hammer-whackings (which had ultimately bent the valve), but Tim was able to remove and replace the valve. I also asked if he could remove the worn-out seat on another toilet that we'd been unable to get off; he had the old seat off and the new one on (which I provided) in barely 5 minutes. He'd said there would be an additional $20 charge for replacing the toilet seat, but since we used the "$20 off for repeat customers" coupon in the monthly Angie's List book, the toilet repair was "free". Tim was very polite and friendly, but he continued to work as we talked and had everything done and cleaned up in less than 30 minutes! We were thrilled!

It turned out there was a very small piece of plastic stuck in the disposal. The owner, Ruben, called us back that very night and showed up first thing in the morning. He removed the offending piece of plastic, then lubricated the kitchen faucet so it would turn again. The previous company I used years ago would have charged at least $500 for this. I can't say enough about RB Plumbing's work ethic, friendly manor and extremely speedy response. They are the only plumbers in this area I really think are trustworthy.

We turned on the dehum and within 1/2 hour the condensation was already drying up. They weren't going to charge us ANYTHING until I remembered our upstairs bathroom sink was draining slowly. They rodded it out thoroughly and it's still draining perfectly. The condensation on the basement pipes has not returned as long as we keep the dehumidifier on! RB Plumbing could have taken us plumbing-challenged folk for some serious money on a number of occasions. I'm sure had we used our previous plumber, that's exactly what would have happened. If you're looking for an honest plumber, RB Plumbing is the one to call.

We had a slow drip in the bathtub faucet and RB addressed it quickly, effectively, and at the lowest cost of any of the plumbers we contacted. They arrived early and finished quickly and we were able to return the $150 replacement faucet we purchased in anticipation of the fix. They also gave advice on how to address a recurring leak on our dishwasher. We may have to address an issue with the hot water heater in the near future related to this and would not hesitate to work with RB again.

Great Job. They came out on time and looked around and said it indeed was our catch basin. They had to go out and get some equipment but came back promptly and pumped it out. He showed us the issues with our roots and the sewer and advised that we may need to be more proactive in keeping the catch basin from filling up again. The price was comparable to when we have had it emptied before. Great service. Will use them again!

The service rep came a bit early (no problem on our part and it worked better for our schedule). The service rep was very professional and friendly. He assessed the issue, was able to repair it within 20 minutes and more importantly cleaned up after himself. Would I use this company again? Most definitely. Their pricing was comparable to what other plumbers charge/quoted.

I called RB Plumbing after a home inspection report revealed a leaking kitchen sink in my grandmother's home, which I was in the process of selling. Tim came out the same day and repaired the leak. On the day the buyers were to take possession of the house, another minor plumbing issue was discovered. The buyer's refused to close until it was fixed. I called RB Plumbing again. Ruben and his staff arrived within 2 hours of my call and were able to complete the necessary repairs, including increasing the water pressure. Ruben, Tim and the other employees of RB Plumbing were very professional, knowledgeable, conscientious and courteous. They well exceeded my expections on performance and price. I would definitely use RB Plumbing again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services.

Ruben and his son arrived on time and went right to work. We had originally hired them solely to install a new kitchen faucet but a few days before they came, our shower started leaking into the basement, so we had two jobs for them. Ruben handled the shower leak and his son installed the faucet. Much to our relief, the shower leak turned out to be a minor issue. While he was working on fixing the leak, I asked him about our concern that the shower head was not securely attached to the wall and about replacing the showerhead itself some day. He fixed the loose connection and then went out and bought us a brand-new showerhead since he didn't have one on his truck. While he was gone, his son finished installing the faucet. We were very pleased, not only at their expertise, but their willingness to tackle other, unexpected issues. We were particularly pleased that Ruben went out to get us a new showerhead. Considering all the work and time, we were very pleased at the price.

Ruben and his crew were very knowledgable, professional, prompt, and friendly. I was very, very pleased overall and will definitely have them back to do more work. They did a very clean, skillful job on everything.

Excellent service from start to finish, arrived early, put down mats, respected the carpet and worked quickly to assess the needs of the job. Went and secured all parts and materials and returned within an hour. Jobs were quickly done, cleaned up after completion. There was one "this stuff is so old there is no replacement" issue, but suggested a cosmetic work around that has done fine so far.

I'd bought a new kitchen faucet to replace my old ugly one with today (a Saturday), but when I cleared out all the junk under the sink, I was horrified to find standing water. At that point I realized there were bigger issues than an ugly faucet, and I called RB Plumbing based on the great reviews here and the fact they had Saturday hours. Not only was the guy on the phone extremely pleasant, but he said he could have a guy out right away. What a stroke of luck! The gentleman who came over, Tim, was very courteous and professional. He was able to spot the trouble immediately and gave me an estimate for the work involved. I also appreciated the fact that he took the time to explain it to me and point things out under the sink. I've had plenty of workers at the house in the past who assume I'm not interested in the details of their work because I'm a gal. Tim involved me in the process, and I appreciated that. He had the problem taken care of, the old faucet out and the new faucet in VERY fast, but realized the faucet I got at Home Depot was defective. The most super awesome generous part of the day was when he left for a while and got something to eat while my husband ran out for a replacement faucet and did NOT charge us for that extra time. I had expected that he would keep the clock running from start to finish, and was so pleasantly surprised to find that I was not charged for that time in the final bill. All in all, it was a great experience -- from coming out so quickly on a weekend, to being sensitive about our bad luck faucet purchase -- he even fielded some other plumbing/sewer questions I bombarded him with when he was on his way out the door. Just a really nice guy. I will definitely be calling RB Plumbing for projects in the future!
