R & G Almanza Landscape Inc

When given a quote for spring, I was given the option to sign a contract for both spring and fall cleanup, and was told they'd come by twice in November, then bill me. The spring cleanup happened. They pulled out one of my hop plant roots, and left it out to die, so that sucked. But everything else was done. Then, come fall, nothing. I made several phone calls asking when fall cleanup was happening, and didn't hear back ever, so I gave up. I then received an invoice for the fall work that was never done. After calling daily for over a week, I was finally told I could disregard the invoice. That brings us to February 2017, when I received another invoice for the same work that was never done. The failure to do the work they promised was bad. The inability to return my phone calls is inexcusable. Continuing to send invoices for work never completed? Outrageous.

They did a remarkable job. I got 3 estimates and they gave the lowest price and did the job well.

I like them a lot. The owner of the company is a nice guy and he is reliable. They are pretty reasonable priced.

They were really good. It took them a day to do the patio and a few workers came out. They were respectful of my home and area.

When I contacted R&G Almanza Landscape, they were very professional on the phone. Since it was outside work they sent someone to come look over the property and give me a price for a seasonal snow removal contract. Raul Almanza emailed me promptly with his proposal. Since I had never done this before I wanted to meet him. He was very accommodating with my schedule and we met at my mom's to be sure he understood what I was looking for. Unfortunately this was pretty much a hand-shovel job, Raul assured me that he had a lot of properties like my mom and it would be fine. He explained that if it snowed more that 2" in the night, by 8am it would be cleared and salted. The property also has two parking spaces in the back and included in my proposal was shoveling out the two spots. AND he even said if the tenants cars were parked in the back he would have his men shovel around the cars. I couldn't believe it. Well, the winter snow season was mild between Nov. 2016 and March 2017. R&G Almanza had to come out in early December 2-3 times and the tenants couldn't rave enough about my new snow removal find. Then we had no snow until early March when Chicago got 6-8" of snow. Since I HATE snow I thought hiring R&G was my good luck (ha ha). Well we got dumped on in the beginning of March and I had no worries because R&G handled shoveling to perfection. I highly recommend R&G Almanza Landscape for snow removal services. I would try them for my mom's landscaping needs also but she has had the same company for over 30 years and at 89 she doesn't want to change. I explained that to Raul and he assured me that it was fine. When November 2017 rolls around, I will absolutely sign another contract for snow removal services with R&G Almanza Landscaping.

Requested a quote twice over a couple of years for different projects, with both requests I followed up to try and get a response after the initial request was ignored. No answer to any of my 4 emails. Assuming they do not need to respond.

Workers came on time and repaired front steps which included resetting blue stone tiles.

Raul and his team were wonderful to work with. After completely renovating the exterior of our home and removing a large deck of the back of the house, our yard was in shambles. We reached out to Raul to help us install a new paver patio, walkway, and garage access, and then re-sod a portion of the yard that was torn up. His prices were 1/3 less than many of the other quotes we got and he was able to start work within a week. His crew was incredibly hardworking and cleaned up at the end of each day. Raul had great ideas for both the hardscape surfaces and some future landscaping projects to enhance our yard. I recommend him and his entire team without hesitation and we look forward to working with him again in the future!

The work did not happen. I was ready to book them and left multiple voicemails and emails and never heard back. Very poor follow up.

We were very happy with the final results. Raul was very nice to work with, very friendly and professional, and his price was at the low end of the estimates we received. Over a month later and the sod has taken hold and our lawn looks great! The only problem was with communication. We didn't know when workers were going to arrive (two separate occasions, for tree trimming and then sod installation) until they did. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know. We may have sod installed in our front yard next year and if we do I'm sure we'll use Almanza again.

The quote from Raul was very competitive. We scheduled his crew for the work, which had to be delayed a few days because of the amount of rain that we have had recently. Throughout the delay, Raul was in contact to get updates on the moisture status of our yard (they couldn't do the grading part if the area was too wet). They were finally able to get the work completed this week. The crew showed up on time, reviewed the plan with us, and were expedient in their work. Their work was high quality. They did an amazing job with the removal of the gazebo and grading of the yard. Our lawn looks amazing! The crew was friendly and accommodating. The results are awesome..we are thrilled. We will definitely be using them again!

Everything was done very well and on time. I went to work and came home and the work was complete. The job was done well and without any cleanup required on my part. I have used R&G in the past and will continue to use them and recommend them to others as well.

The maintenance crews were generally good when they came, but sometimes they missed a week without notice. I could never reach a live person for customer service on the phone - I just left messages and hoped someone would listen to them. I only got a call back maybe 1 out of 5 times I called. Billing was horrendous. I would receive a bill with the wrong dates of services, and there were often services charged that were never provided. For my last bill, I was charged for a fertilization treatment, a full fall cleanup, and a tree removal. I never asked for a tree to be removed (nor was one removed, thank goodness), or fertilization, and they didn't bother to come for the second visit for fall cleanup. I didn't pay these fraudulent charges, but service was bad.

Raul was punctual for our until meeting. He appeared knowledgeable. He gave me his business card and asked me to email him my contact information. I was told that he'd have an estimate for services to me that weekend. Two weeks and 2 emails later, I have not received the estimate.

Raul Almanza was very prompt in meeting with us to discuss our plan, and he sent a proposal soon after. Almanza's bid was $400 lower than the others. They showed up two days later to dig up the roots, move the flagstone walk, and level the lawn. A week later, when the weather had warmed a bit, they installed the sod. We are extremely happy with the price and quality of the work. We definitely will use them in the future.

Everything was done in 2 1/2 days and looks fantastic. The salesman / foreman was very clear and helpful. He had some suggestions to improve the basic plan we had for the patio which resulted in a more useful space without increasing the cost. The workers were all pleasant and worked impressively fast.

Raul and his son provided outstanding work. I called Raul and told him that I only had an hour to meet. Raul was very flexible and met me on my schedule. He said he could start the next day at 8:00. We talked about what work would be done. The team showed up on-time, as scheduled and began promptly. The crew worked very hard and quickly. They did an outstanding job. Best landscapers I have seen in the Chicago area.

I was very impressed with R and G Almanza Landscape. Raul did a good job of getting back to me during a very busy time. He was responsive to my concerns and questions. He gave good suggestions. Our yards look much better and he improved the aesthetics of our house considerably. His price was the most competitive of the three estimates we sought. We will definitely reach out to his group in the future as they did great work.

Raul was extremely professional and punctual. We left much of the recommendation for plant materials to them, and they consulted with our Board representative to on the design for the yard. They set a date for the install and were prompt, had a crew of over 10 workers and completed all the work in one day. Our yard looks amazing and our neighbors have all made positive comments. The best part is that it is now maintenance free. We sold all of our lawn mowers and are happier for it.

Raul came by and gave me an estimate. I needed some weeding, edging, general lawncare and a giant (13 ft) bush removed. They came by the following day and did a fantastic job! Great work and cleanup. Very professional.

He was wonderful! Very knowledgable about the area and plants and weather, so he knew about waiting for a while for spring cleanup and then he was very helpful with the planting and resoding. We liked him so much that he will be helping us with summer maintenance! I am also recommending him to all of my friends because his work was so stellar.

Well, the work looked great. We were really pleased, but the work didn't reflect my more recent phone calls to Raul or his son. Since our initial meeting, I had changed my mind and wanted one more bush pulled. I also wanted to ask if a hardware cloth could be used instead of chicken wire. I also just wanted to confirm the cost of all the items. Each time I called I got an automated answering service, and usually never received a phone call back. I think I did receive one call back from Raul's son. I told him what I wanted done and asked where I could pick out some bushes for them to plant. The services rendered at our place didn't reflect this phone call, and in fact, we have received no further communication from them. While I was told that the payment sent in was for around half of the total amount (estimated and calculated by me based on their vague service costs), we have not received another bill. I recently called Raul and left a message to say I was pleased overall with their work and was interested in more work. He actually called me back and said he was willing to meet and discuss. He acted as if I had not called before at all, though, which was perplexing. We finally gave up on the phone tag game and pulled up the remaining bush and planted three bushes on our own. I'm actually glad we did this because it wasn't as difficult as we anticipated and saved us money, but honestly, we were willing to pay Raul's company to do it. I honestly felt like his company is more concerned with the initial business and no really follow up. In person I found him friendly and easy to talk to. I am definitely an amateur when it comes to landscaping. He really knows his business, but I do feel like communication needs to be improved. If he was unwilling to do further work, that's fine, just let us know. If the costs were too high, we could always say no, but at least we would have an answer. I can recommend R & G's services for one visit, but I can't recommend them for continual work. I just feel like the communication was too difficult and time consuming.

Raul responded to my request for an estimate immediately and his crew was able to start work about a week later. Raul and his crew were professional and did an excellent job. We had a miscommunication on the retaining wall but the crew was out the very next day to correct it. I would not hesitate to recommend Raul or to use him in the future! Great job! Thanks! We love it.
