Description of Work: They trimmed part of a hemlock tree. They have installed pavers that are permeable to water. They have lined flower beds with a retaining wall. We've had them replace a segment of sidewalk that was collapsing.

 + -1 moreI called Raul based on the Angie's list ratings. We needed paver bricks installed over our front steps. He told me he would come by to see the steps and then call back with an estimate. Then - nothing. I called him again about a week later and left a voicemail - no response. I can't speak to the quality of work that this company does, based on other reviews it is good. But their customer service and professionalism leave much to be desired.

 + -1 moreR&G rocks. Raul came out to give me an estimate for front- and back-yard clean up on a property that hadn't had any trimming/landscaping done in about five years. It was a mess, with weeds taller than my head. Raul gave me an estimate on the spot, and since the price was fantastic I booked the job with him then. The completed work was impeccable--trees were completely removed and soil was scattered, everything was swept up, every single little weed was pulled up, and they were even able to separate out the good plants from the jungle of weeds and kept those for us. Raul and his crew must really be minimalists--they're not afraid to really hack away until the job is done, but they are also surprisingly good about keeping plants that I wanted kept looking as if only the wind has ever touched their leaves. My one caveat about R&G is that they seem extremely busy. I had good luck with getting in touch the first time, but the second time I called (for another job), it took a couple of days of me calling back before I finally got in touch with Raul.

Description of Work: Remove 5 inches if total, root infested dirt in a 16 x 12 foot area and filled in with washed rock, boulders, and a flat stone edge.

We have a lot of condos for sale in our building, so curb appeal is important, and they definitely made the place look 50x better. We liked them so much that we got rid of our old lawn care company for weekly maintenance, and have hired R&G for that, as well.
Description of Work: The lawn in front of our condo building was looking really shabby and unkempt. We hired R&G to trim all bushes (approx. 40 to 50 of them), mulch several areas, weed a considerable amount, as well as cut and edge the lawn.

 + -1 moreExcellent experience dealing with Raul and his crew. They came in and finished the work in record time. Our neighbors commented on how nice the end product looked. I called Raul and he came over the following day to survey the area. He provided a quote right there and then. He also informed me of the date he could start the job. His crew showed up @ 8am on the scheduled day and immediately got to work. When I got home, I was amazed at the result. Complete night and day. I will definitely use him again. And, I'll be happy to refer him to friends and family.
Description of Work: Cleaned weeds and shrubs from backyard. Also planted some plants we purchased. He installed mulch in the garden and also put in some woodchips and walking pavers in an area we don't quite know what to do with yet.

 + 1 moreR&G did a great job with the new sidewalks and with the new sod. Because of my schedule, the work was done on two days, three weeks apart. When they came out the second time, they even replaced some of the sod that we had not watered well enough initially. We would use them again and recommend them. They are also now doing our regular weekly lawn maintenance.
Description of Work: R&G put in a new paver sidewalk in front of the condo building, a new stepper sidewalk along the side of the building, and resodded the parkway.

The crew is extremely hard working and take pride in their work. We will definitely be using their services again in the future.
Description of Work: Landscaped front of house - removed existing groundcover, leveled the ground with new soil, planted shrubs along the front fence and took up an old path and relayed a flagstone path in its place.

Description of Work: I called R and G and set a time for a survey of our landscape. He came out and surveyed our garden etc. We had lots of good work for any service to come out. The work would have included yard clean up, weeds, to removal of an old tree stump (which he said he could do), to stone work in the yard entrance, and building an area for veggies, herbs. Our first encounter by phone was disappointing since he got the initial time to meet incorrectly and my husband and I waited for his arrival. I called and he thought it was another time but came over later. Then after surveying the landscape, he told us he would send an estimate in one week's time. It has been approximately one month now and no estimate. I looked over the initial time error in meeting but now I am disappointed to say that I truly believe I should not have to call again. I have plenty of work for another service I am using at this time. He is one person and is doing a fine job. Very meticulous in his work and we have a considerably large garden! While I may be disappointed with R and G Almanza given the A ratings I researched, it gave my husband and I the opportunity to find this gentleman who now does our garden work.

Description of Work: We used R & G Almanza Landscape to install a large trellis along the side of our property for grapevines to grow on. They took out the old sod and planted new sod. They also reshaped and bordered the flower beds.

 + -1 moreTheir price was more reasonable than others. They were very professional, punctual and responsive. On the first visit they removed a lot of unwanted weeds, did extensive clean up in he backyard and alley, removed on old lined pond with no plumbing attached. They did a lot of work fast. The only one thing I really didn't like was that the first time the owner oversaw all the work but the second time he didn't oversee the work. He arrived with them, made sure they knew what to do then left. There was language barrier between me and the workers so I would have liked somebody who could translate. They did a good job, but there was no creativity as far as how they placed the plants. They kind of just made a grid and it could have probably looked a lot nicer if they could have taken like one step further.
Description of Work: The did basic yard work, fall clean up, some planting for me, and large unwanted plants/weeds. They also put some gravel down on the side of the building where only weeds were growing.

 + -1 moreThe only negative thing about them is that they charge me for things I don?t think they have done therefore I always have to negotiate with them. However, their men do a wonderful job; they really know how to keep the lawn in superb shape. They are very thorough. They really do pull some weeds, they keep things trim, they cut the grass, they do everything that is required to keep a lawn nice and that is good but there is a little bit of struggle with the bill.
