R&G was excellent. The patio they built has been fantastic and the price was unbelievable. Overall this was a pretty simple project for him but he did it all within one day and his team worked really hard to get everything done. He was very prompt and professional and everyone did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves. I was extremely happy with their services.

After obtaining information from Angie's List I called for an estimate. The person I spoke with setup an appointment to look at my yard so he could give me a price. The person never showed up and never returned my subsequent calls. Instead I went with another landscaper that actually showed up for the appointment and gave me a fair quote.

Raul called me back immediately and gave me a time he would take measurements and give me an estimate. He gave me the best estimate. He was quick to response to a date and how long the job would take to complete. He told me three hours and it was done in three hours. My front and back yard looks great. Thanks Raul...

Raul came out to give a fair estimate and had some ideas for future landscaping. I asked if he would credit the 5% Angies List coupon and he said he would. GIven the small size of the job, the price came out to $190 with the coupon. The men showed up a bit late but were finished quickly with quality work. I would not have hesitated to use the company again, however, when I received the invoice of $200 at the end of the job, I called Raul to refresh his memory about my coupon. He stated to me that it was only for jobs of $500 and over. Besides already having a verbal agreement, I did check the coupon on the computer and it states no such thing. There is a 10/12/2012 expiration date and nothing more. The workers are very good and the verbal agreed upon price was more than adequate; however, I will not use this company again due to Raul's lack of professionalism in keeping his word.

They did a really great job. They came slightly later than I expected them, but they managed to get this entire job done in about 4 hours and left everything much neater than when they arrived.I hope to hire them again in the future to plant some more colorful perennials at least in my front yard next spring.

I read a lot of reports before choosing Raul, and they indicated both that he was incredibly good at what he does, and has a good eye for it, as well as that scheduling could be a hassle. I was prepared for some responsiveness/scheduling issues, so they did not bother me. Based on what I had read, and my initial meeting with Raul, I was committed to using his services. When I met with Raul to discuss the work, I told him what I wanted in very general terms and described some of the typical problems we have with rain, the dogs, etc. I then basically told him to do what he thought was best. And boy am I glad I did!! They did a week's worth of work in one day, the price was very reasonable, and the results are outstanding. Where my yard was once dirt, rocks, overgrown or wraggly bushes and weeds, it is now serene and neat. The flagstone he laid is perfect, and I would never have planned out what he planned. The plants he chose and location for the plants are just ideal. I couldn't be happier with the results, and I think Raul is very talented. If you want professional landscaping and thoughtful design, but don't want to pay a landscaping architect outrageous fees, trust Raul's judgment. He is awesome and worth a few scheduling headaches. I am in love with my new backyard retreat.

R&G visted three times, to do lawn spring cleaning, then planted two bushed in the back and then bush trimming in July. All three times the work was done promtly, and the guys did a great job each time. They always came when they said they would, perfomed the job well and cleaned up. All three were very fairly priced.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of work done. I personally would have liked a bit more communication between myself and the landscaper, but he did inform me that there would be a 10 day waiting period between spraying and re-grading the soil. I would hire him again.

Spoke to Raul asking for an estimate. Raul said he would call me back with it. Discussed what needs to be done. Several days later I called again to remind him and leave my number again. 10 days passed - no response.

I called R&G along with a number of other companies for estimates. It was very hard to get estimate from any of them but eventually Raul came and gave me an estimate. Given the size of my backyard, I found the estimate to be very reasonable and thus hired R&G. My major reason for getting the sod is to have a yard for my 2 dogs as opposed to the mud bowl that 1/2 of my yard had become. The crew came out and installed sod over 2 days. Raul pointed out to me that my yard had a lot of shade and I would need to get my trees trimmed. He indicated that he could get me an estimate for that work -- but never did. Overall, I was satisfied with the job because as I stated above, my goal was a grassy yard for my dogs as opposed to a show piece yard. I state this because it is clear that the sod used on day 1 was different than the sod used on day 2. I wonder if R&G underestimated how much would be needed and then backfilled with a lower quality product.

R&G came out to do a spring clean-up on 2 properties for me. Everything was a disgusting mess, no work had been done for years, so the grass, weeds, trees, and bushes were overgrown. The quotation process was very informal, so it made me a little nervous, but R&G did everything I asked, was much cheaper than the other companies I contacted, and the yards look absolutely fantastic. We also hired them for bi-weekly maintenance. I am very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend.

After several years of doing my own yard work, I finally realized my Sat afternoons were far more precious, not to mention I really did not do a great job. Searching Angie's list, I saw the recommendations for R & G ALMANZA LANDSCAPE. I gave them a buzz and from our first interaction, they have been consistant and very professional. Our property looks great and I am going to call them to do additional work beyond taking care of the yard.

He gave us the best estimate. He is efficient and reliable. He was able to take what we had and make the yard look really great rather than putting in a lot of new stuff; we didn't want to do that. We paid him about $2000 to do our initial landscaping, this was last year. He’s great. I would use their services again in the future.

Their prices are extremely comparable and very fair for the amount of work they are doing. I give them high rating on all counts. We have already contracted them for this year.

I had asked for several bids from landscaping firms to construct a retaining wall. I was impressed with Mr. Almanza's professionalism and punctuality in providing an estimate. His price was the best and the examples I found on his website indicated he could do a very good job. I was ready to go with him when an earlier contractor, whose work was also excellent agreed to match Mr. Almanza's price. The other contractor had done a neighbor's retaining wall and we were impressed with the quality. Had the other contractor not met Mr. Almanza's price, I was ready to go with Mr. Almanza.

I waited five days for Raul, or someone from his landscaping/lawn service, to call me back. Once I spoke to Raul, we agreed to meet yet another week in the future, at 9 am on a Wednesday morning. I waited 90 minutes ... he was a no show and haven't seen nor heard from him since. If he is too busy to accept new clients he should be sure to make that clear so as not to waste my or anyone else's time.

It took a day or two to get a response from my initial phone call, but Mr. Almanza was quick to come by to look at the situation, and we received our estimate the next day. It was significantly cheaper than the other estimate we received. Once I called to schedule the work, it was done the following week. He came with a large team of workers and several trucks, and finished in one day. The lawn looks well graded away from the house and is neatly edged around the beds and sidewalks. I was given verbal instructions for new sod care (i.e. water it 30 minutes every day). The new lawn looks great. If there are any problems in the future, I'll update my review, but for now I am very pleased.

Raul arrived when he said he would and gave an on-the-spot estimate that was tied for lowest of the three we received. He also told us what to be sure was done no matter who did the job (which would've been helpful even if we didn't hire him). He was very professional and understood right away that we didn't want to spend a lot of money on the job. The workers came on a day when I was out of town but went ahead & did the work anyway -- what a wonderful surprise when I came home!! My only "complaint" is that I had to call him to ask him to bill us....but if that's the only thing anyone does "wrong," we're okay with that. :) A+ all the way!!

Raul came over to give us an estimate the same day I called. We could tell immediately that he knew his stuff and loves what he does. He anticipated a lot of our questions and really made it clear what the job would entail. His pricing was competitive and, although he wasn't the cheapest, he seemed to have the most confidence and the best grasp of exactly what we wanted. The price difference was so close between R & G and others that gave us estimates, that we were completely fine with his price because we had a hunch that the quality of work would be superior. We were right. Scheduling the actual work was easy and the crew (which included owner Raul after a short time) arrived exactly when they were supposed to. They were very efficient, very fast and very tidy (they did a great job of cleaning up the surrounding area after the job). A few days after the job, we noticed that a couple of the arbor vitae trees were leaning over a bit after settling in the ground (even though they were planted correctly). Raul came over within a few days to check it out and he and one of his crew guys came over to happily fix the problem right away, which he said was pretty common with these trees and also easy to fix. We also had R & G do a couple of lawn treatments to help get rid of weeds and fertilize the lawn. It seems to have worked (though they need to do a few more treatments) and our lawn does look a little bit better. We will most likely have them do more work on the lawn next summer and we have a few other shrubs that need replacing. We were very, very happy with the work Raul and crew did and would (and will!) absolutely use them again. Highly recommended.
