George, Bilmer, Miguel, and Andrei did a fantastic job. They showed up when they said they would, worked quickly but thoroughly, were friendly to us and our children, and were very accommodating. The floors look amazing. You can't see the areas that were repaired (even looking for the repairs, I can't find them!), and the stain is gorgeous. It looks like a whole new house. If I could rate them A++, I would.

Andrei was so easy to work with. He gave great explanations of the process and was quick with the estimate as well. Benjamin and Joel worked very **** ** every little detail. Our floors look amazing! It is by far the best money we have spent on our house. We highly recommend Andrei and his team!

Within minutes of my initial email, I received a text. We went back and forth via text well past business hours until all of my questions were answered, cost estimate determined, and work scheduled. I was on the fence about whether to have the floors re-done in my new apartment but the customer service at Mike's helped me to make the decision. They were so responsive and to-the-point about all of my questions and they said they could start the work the next day. No time for me to waffle! The crew arrived right on time and while I walked around with the manager discuss the details, the workers immediately started carrying in equipment. With an hour they had stained small color samples for me to choose from and within 24 hours the entire apartment was done. It was amazing! They were so good, and so professional, and so fast. I don't know what more you could ask for? Oh yeah, a great price! Rehabbing this apartment has been difficult because of the number of trades that don't return calls or cannot fit me in for months, etc. I wish I could just have the floors done over and over again because the experience with Mike's was so wonderful. The quality of the work is fantastic. For anyone even considering refreshing your old hardwood, I highly recommend Mike's.

Project went well. I recently purchased a condo in the city and the floors were in rough shape. The team was able to come take a look at the floors, give an estimate, and start work in just a week. The team worked fast and the floors look amazing. There was a bit of communication error around some of the baseboards, but Andrei was super responsive and kept me updated with the progress well. In the end, everything turned out fantastic and I couldn't be happier.

I'm so happy with the work that was done by Mike's Hardwood Flooring. The floor in this 100+ year old house that I recently bought was in terrible condition, and I thought I was going to have the entire floor ripped out and replaced. Andrei said that it wasn't needed and saw beyond the current condition noting that the look of the old wood would add value to house. He was right. They just completed refinishing and repairing all the floors and staircase in my entire house. Benjamin, Andrei, Joe - they did a great job. Impeccable work. They were professional and the cost was reasonable. They were not the cheapest of the bids I received, but I think their overall professionalism, clear communications of the process and the results, and their superior craftsmanship brought the most value. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

The floors look great but the experience was less than pleasant. 1) There were several instances of communication problems between me and the man in charge of the crew. All were eventually worked out but one caused a major problem with the stain color. The company stood behind their work and corrected the problem and to their credit changed their policy to prevent this problem from happening again. 2) Initially the company insinuated that the stain color problem was my fault. Their responses ranged from trying to get me to absorb part of the cost to repair the problem to telling me they would fix it even though it was my fault and not that of their company. After then looking at the problem the owner did acknowledge the problem was not caused by me. 3) The floor looks really nice, but the crew was not careful about other things. - A couple of room doors have veneer splintered off the bottom edge. - Two doors had Do Not Disturb signs attached to a shell rope hanging off the doorknobs. The shell ropes were moved to a different door and the sign part was missing on both. These were a special memento from a trip 25 yrs ago and can't be replaced. The bottom of the signs were about 2 ft above the floor and the signs were nowhere to be found. - The closet doors were stored in a bathroom and 3 gouges were made in the bathroom ceiling when moving them - Not sure what happened in the bathroom, but the rug and the toilet seat cover were found in the bathtub and were saturated with water. - Draperies, even ones that were only window length were knotted to each other so they were wrinkled when unknotted. These are not huge deals but did cause me extra work. Like myself many people don't have previous experience getting floors refinished. A lot of the problems could have been avoided if I had known up front what was expected. The owner does seem to care about the work of his company. Perhaps the company could make a handout to give to every customer so they would know the following: - All drapes need to be X number of feet off the floor. (then the customer could remove or fold them over the rod so they wouldn't get wrinkled) - Hanging clothes need to be removed from closets (I called them to ask this) - A stair is just the tread and not the vertical part that holds the tread. (I was surprised to learn this after the work was done. Its ok it was just a surprise) - Remove any items hanging from door knobs

Awesome. All without any supervision, and he called with updates and information. Finished in two days and they looked great. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

The work took two days, which met the estimated time to completion. The floors and baseboards look wonderful. Mike's did an outstanding job from the on-site consultation through the follow-up call after the work was complete. I was especially pleased that the house was not very dusty/dirty. The workers did an excellent job of cleaning up the dust. The floors look like new again. I am completely satisfied with the experience.

Work went very well. My spouse and I supplied the wood from bigbox hardware store. We also pulled and discarded all the rugs and padding. MHF had 3 guys working to complete 95% work in 2 days. They gave us the details on threshold fittings to order again from the bigbox; and they came back 2 weeks later (when supply came in) to finish the 3 thresholds: 2 onto similar hardwood, 1 onto tile. Craftsmanship and attention to cleanup were excellent. There was good communication of special issues as well: they shortened some of the doors because of space limitations. Great work/ experience/ price overall.

The company was great communication wise - going back and forth several times via email answering questions and providing information I needed to make my final selection. On the day of install the crew (two gentlemen) showed up on time and shook my hand, introducing themselves by name. They had to remove railings and heavy furniture I was unable to move prior to the install. They were professional, respectful and very hardworking. They asked for input when they encountered a situation that wasn't "text book" because of my home's layout. The install took about 2 days and at the end they replaced all the moved furniture (adding felt feet prior to putting them down) and rehung the railings. The cleaned up immaculately and even left a little stain for any small scratches I may experience in the future. The crew was so great (Benjamin and Joel) and the floor turned out so beautifully that I'm already considering doing the second floor hallway and stairs and will definitely use Mike's again when the time comes for that renovation. I would definitely recommend this company to others!

I highly recommend using Mike's Hardwood Flooring. From the initial visit by Andre to give an estimate on costs and work needed, it was very apparent that they would be very thorough and honest. They pointed out several options for the work and gave a price in-line with other contractors. Further, Andre was always available to take my calls and answer questions immediately. For the actual work, they did a beautiful job despite the previous floor being very uneven. Can't recommend them highly enough.

The three man crew arrived on schedule and started promptly to work. They taped off the rooms that were not being refinished and removed doors to protect them. They were careful with our house and furnishings. The job took two days. The finished floors look great. They did a very good job of cleaning up the dust so that the house was in great condition when they left.

Beautifully! They came, the sanded, the conquered 70 years of neglected oak and maple flooring. I am still walking around in awe of the job they did. They were extremely neat and were very careful of the wood work because they knew i just had it finished. I expected a lot more dust, but they kept that to a minimum. There's some (of course), but wow. Great job and I didn't have to clean up after them. They were also very flexible with the dates - which really helped ease my mind in the midst of the chaos that was going on here.

The floors look gorgeous. The trim looks bad. There are corners where there are bad gaps, and the trim floats away from the walls in many places. The drywall under the stairs where they took out the old tread and put in new ones have holes because the nails got driven out. Mike noticed them but pretended not to say anything. There are cracks on the stair risers - and even a wedge that had fallen out and was put back. We were promised his own people would be working on them but when we dropped by to visit we found subcontractors working on the stairs. We love the floors but were disappointed with the rest of the job.

Generally, things went well. Communication was very great (Andrei was really responsive) and the work was high quality. At first, I felt like I was getting a great deal (uncovering old wood floors underneath the carpet would mean a great savings for me VS having to get all new hardwood installed), but as the project went on, I started to feel taken advantage of... Initially, I was quoted a few thousand dollars, but ended up spending over 8k. So, that wasn't great. Also, I assumed some things would be included (like baseboards and quarter inch where there were gaps) that weren't. And, not all of the furniture was moved with care, which is unfortunate. So, I guess I'm kind of 50/50 on whether I'd use them again.

They did an excellent job and I would refer then to friends and family. My only complaint was I had him come out and price the job first I did not get anything in writing but he said he needed about a week to schedule when I was ready. I called after we installed the kitchen floor , maybe 2 weeks later and he said he needed to come back out and measure again. After he came out the price went up about $300.00 because he claimed he hadn't included stain only clear coat. I know he said one coat of stain and 2 coats of clear but the job was great and I am very happy. It's my fault for not getting the quote in writing.

The work was great. They moved all the furniture and taped up the doorways prior to sanding. After the floor was sanded, they applied sample stains so that we could choose the color that would work best. They then stained the floor and applied two coats of poly and the next day returned to apply the final coat. Two days later they returned to move all the furniture back. The guys were very nice and courteous and the finished room looks great.

Met Andrei in February to plan April work. Very thorough discussion of what needed to be done, how they would do it, what products would be used and the time frame. Excellent suggestions from Andrei. He knows his business! Gave down payment to secure our dates in April. Since entire house needed to be emptied out, prior planning was essential. Also house would be painted after floors completed. Andrei advised us to move out for a couple of nights due to the strong odor of refinishing solutions. Glad we did. He was correct! Results are amazing! Our new, 1.1/2 year old wood kitchen floor was matched perfectly with the 60 year old floors in rest of house. His crew moved all of our heavy antique furniture for us and replaced it after painting was completed. This company is a gem! The crew is so talented and professional! Could not have asked for any better results after 5 days of work. Have already given Mike's Hardwood Flooring as a recommendation to my friend who is contemplating a floor refinishing. Very happy we chose Mike"s Hardwood Flooring.

Exceptional is an understatement. First class responsiveness. High level of knowledge about our wood and what would look best. Replaced boards wherever necessary. I purchased a big deal through Angie's List. I had previously had 3 other quotes - all running at over $3500! Adrien of Mike's Flooring provided me with a fair price. I had to pay an addition $500 for tinting and another $500 for an additional coating. Plus, they provided six beautiful actual examples of the tint possibilities on our floor. The results were beautiful. They were extremely responsive during the process. Overall, they were very respectful of our things. And, most surprisingly of all we had almost NO DUST -- amazing. Thanks!

Great. Nearly 4 years later we are still very happy. No issues with floor. He provided best estimate, was prompt and professional and the team (his brother-in-law he said and someone else) finished early. They also did a very good job with finish, particularly the step down into kitchen, since hardwood raises the height. We recommended him to friends who used him and were very happy as well.

Upfront, I run an Angie's List Super Service award winning company for the past 8 years so when I pick a company on Angie's list my expectations are high. I know what it takes to earn the award year after year and have been involved in home improvements for over 25 years. I met with Andrei about a month before wanting to do the floors in order to get a price and work out the logistics. Andrei was very easy to work with and deal with the schedule we wanted to do as we wanted to do the work while we where traveling. We easily agreed on a price and the scope of work and set it up for about a month later. About a week before the installation, we exchanged contact and access information so he could get in while we where gone and additional information for contacts if he needed anything while we where gone. Benjamin, Marco & Carlos arrived as scheduled and got to work. On the first floor it was a straight floor sand, stain and poly. Upstairs they had to remove the carpet, sand, repair damaged wood from 20+ years of dogs, remove all the staples and then stain and apply the poly. The three of them worked late the last two days to get us back in on-time The floors look great and I would highly recommend them!
