Description of Work: We submitted a request for services via Angie's list. We never received a response. Not sure why but that really turned me off particularly since this vendor was highly recommended on Angie's list.

Description of Work: The job was to have the floors refinished, with a stain. |At the point when they said they were finished, the job was unacceptable. There were blotches and irregularities all around the perimeter of the rooms. At that point, the choice was to resand lightly, and apply another coat of poly, or completely start all over. I wasn't willing to go through the latter, so I agreed to the former. My floors are far from perfect, but I'm going to live with it. | |They did seem very professional so this quality lapse surprised me. |

Description of Work: Sanded and refinished (no staining) wood floors on our second level - 4 bedrooms, closet, hallway and stairs, approximately 750 square feet plus the stairs. All I can say is WOW!!!!! We only removed carpet and washed the floors when we moved in 22 years ago, this is the first time we refinished the upstairs floors and they definitely showed wear after two kids and a dog all those years. The floors are now so beautiful you wouldn't recognize them. We had some major wear spots and staining on the stairs and you wouldn't know it now. | |Mike's quote was fair and his team was very professional in the process. Managed to fit us into a two day window he had in his schedule and brought out 3 men for day one, just to get it done in time. They were finished by early on the second day with the final coat. Highly recommend for sure and would definitely use him again.

Description of Work: Second floor ripped out carpet, sanded and finished floors in hallway, three bedrooms, stairs, 1st floor hallway and kitchen. Excellent work.

Description of Work: Sanded stained and refinished 1000 SF of 10 year old flooring. I went with mike after speaking to many providers because his price was right. The floor came out great and was done on time. He was able to accommodate additional coat in tight timeframe.

Description of Work: Refinish white oak floors to a beautiful dark walnut finish! Everyone wants dark wood these days in the condos they are buying and Mike is, clearly, exceptionally qualified to help you stage your unit for a quick sale with a nice spruce up. I am confident the floor improvements will have us in the perfect move-in ready shape. Mike was extremely professional and personable. Very prompt and willing to discuss options with you and add value with detail while leveraging his decades of experience. I grew up in a family owned business and know quality and value when I see it. Mike is exceptional in every respect.

Description of Work: I emailed and called and left a message for an estimate for repair and refinishing after a major water leak that buckled our wood floors, and never got a response. We are now in contract with another Angie's List provider, Midwest Floors, who responded immediately, and came out for an estimate the same day that I called them. This was a big loss for Mikes, because I contacted them due to their reviews, and they never got back to me, and lost a $16,000.00 job.

Description of Work: They arrived on time. Mike returned my call promptly. Floor looked nice. Took a better look and noticed that some areas were not done properly. Took photos and sent to Mike. One photo was one where it looked like a pad had come off their machine and made deep grooves on the floor, other pictures showed quality was not the greatest. Spoke to Mike and he said to get another company to verify that work could be better and that their machine did in fact mark the floor and he would replace the wood/threshhold. I did not want to spend more money. The Big Deal was $1200 for 800sq ft and my area was less than 400 sq ft and Mike said they would put a third coat, but the shine has faded and I think I over paid for the job. I joined Angies List to get quality, but I guess this can happen anywhere and no one has control of how a company or its' employees will work out. No, I would not get this company again. Oh, when I spoke to Mike he told me that my floors were REALLY bad to begin with and I don't agree. Yes, they were worn, but and as he was getting at, or rather his description. Mike never came to see the floors.

Description of Work: "Wonderful job. Floors look great! My job included additional flooring, they did a great job matching. Unless you know where the flooring was missing you could not tell. They also had to replace badly damaged flooring. Mike gave a fair price for the additional work and extra floor space George did a fabulous job - very helpful in making suggestions, answering questions and working around my schedule. Description of Work: Removed carpeting and installed hardwood on 15-step staircase in our 2-story townhome. Mike responded promptly to our request for an estimate & scheduled and completed the job within 2 weeks. His crew was polite, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves.

Description of Work: There is so much good about Mike, his crew and the quality of their work, I do not know where to begin. When we moved in to our new home we tore up the carpet to find very old, very creaky wood floor. Some of which were darkened from water damage. My husband considered just tearing out the entire floor since he hates creaks but Mike suggested we replace some boards and use screws to remedy most of the creaks. He also suggested going with a darker stain to cover the nail holes. Well, I would say we went from a 75% creaky floor to a 10% creaky floor. There is only one spot that is noticeably creaky but, it is completely livable considering the amount of money we saved from not replacing everything. And the color is stunning. Mike and his crew are VERY hard hardworking, reliable, trustworthy and professional. Mike oversaw the job and though he didn't do the work personally, he checked in to make sure everything was being done properly. I felt like he cared and stayed involved. As for his crew, they worked long hours and were always polite and straight forward. Bottom line- I would recommend them in a heartbeat and if I had to do it over again, I would use them without hesitation.
