Description of Work: Chicsgo West loop. Condo wood floor 1000 sq ' installed about 250 feet new wood and refinished the entire floor, old and new. Nicely done.

Description of Work: Unbelievably good. Went above and beyond at every turn, including spending twice the estimated time on the project and coming back to fix a tricky radiator. I was blown away by their cheerful can-do insistence on always making everything right.

Description of Work: We did not do the job, because current floor is down to nails. Vendor quoted me a reasonable price for replacing the floor, but I was not in the market for a floor replacement at this time.

Description of Work: I did get 3 estimates before choosing Mike's Hardwood Flooring. The floor is being done in two stages; the last stage will be done after the cabinetry is installed. Mike told me that all I have to do is call and they will schedule the last stage right away. They have completed the first stage. My contractor put in my floors, although Mike does installation too. The area to be worked on was 1000 square feet of new qtr. sawn 3 inch oak. Mike suggested that he also sand the original qtr. sawn oak 26-foot bedroom hallway so that the color matches. I agreed. He also took care of a 3 by 4 foot area in one of the bedrooms that had some old overlooked water damage, which was under the puppy's crate. The pet played in the water bowl while in the crate! All that extra work increased the original estimate by about 400 dollars. Mike was here to do the first estimate and then sent Andrei for the start up. Both were very professional, punctual and personable and I felt that the work would be done correctly. I stressed to Mike that several of us in the house had allergy problems and we wanted finish with low/no VOCs...we went with BONA, and the final coat will be Bona Traffic (much stronger final coat so that it is more difficult for the big dogs nails to create scratches). The floors look beautiful and I cannot wait to see what the final coat looks like. I would recommend Mike's Hardwood Flooring with what I have had done so far!

Description of Work: Mike's sanded my kitchen with breakfast area (about 15x24 feet) and also my foyer and two closets. I have parquet oak tile which I was told was not easy to refinish, but these guys did a great job!! They even repaired some tiles that had been damaged. Very careful to tape off doorways and cleaned up fantastically.

Description of Work: I just brought a house and wanted the floors refinished before we moved in. I brought the 1,000 Sq. Ft. package knowing I had more floor that that. Mike's Estimator came out on the day that we closed to look over the job and give us the final coast. He told us it would be several days before they could start which is what we expected. WE told him that our move in date depended on the floors. We were told that they would call us the next day to set the date for the work. Mike's went the extra mile for us and started the work on that Saturday and worked the whole weekend. They finished up on Monday late like 10 or 11PM. |The professionalism of the workers was top notch. They worked very hard and very fast. They made the work look easy, and I know it is not. The sanding, staining, and top coat finishing was perfect. I have already given their names out to 3 different people because of how good they are. If you have to choose a hardwood flooring company choose Mike's.

Description of Work: Mike's Harwood Flooring sanded and stained a basement oak floor, threshold, office and hallway floors. They moved all the furniture and returned it all to the exact spot according to the floor plan. They also buffed a first floor kitchen and dining room. A sample stain board was fabricated in order for me to select the perfect stain match. The floors turned out amazing. All the furniture was put back in the perfect spot in the two first floor rooms. They even used blue paper tape to carefully tape up the custom curtains so they would be damage free. The only little snag was the communication. There were problems with job start times and parking issues. The manager was sent over and all was addressed and smoothed over. I will definitely use Mike's Flooring again and recommend Mike to anyone in need of floor buffing/sanding/staining/repairs.

Description of Work: I have a repair I would like to make for my hardwood floors in a rental property I own. I called the phone number for Mike's Hardwood flooring and left a message. No one called me back. I find it extremely unprofessional that no one even took the time to call me back.

Description of Work: The replaced part of my wood floor which was damaged by a flood. When they were putting the wood down in a section I pointed out the need to even out that section which the initial installation failed to level. The workers which were obviously contracted for the day by Mike didn't know how to level the floor nor did they have the materials needed. So while they finished replacing the wood, the floor is clearly uneven. It would also have been better service if Mike had checked back after the job to see if I was satisfied with the job. I would have valued his professional advice on fixing the uneven floors. But the fact that he didn't check back tells me he doesn't care that much about how good a service his company provides.
