The experience was perfect from start to finish. We returned home from vacation last summer to find water damage to the hardwood flooring in our kitchen, beyond salvage. Mike came out the day I called to assess the floors and provide an estimate to repair the damaged section and refinish the contiguous rooms. His estimate was a couple hundred dollars more than another estimate I obtained, but his attention to detail, explanation of the process and overall professionalism made it an easy decision. Mike worked with us to accommodate our family's schedule and routine to minimize disruption as much as possible. His crew arrived on time Monday morning. Mike surveyed the empty rooms with me and his crew, and we thoroughly talked through several questions/concerns I had. His crew then got to work and kept me apprised of progress throughout the day, staying well into the evening, which allowed them to finish the entire job by noon the next day, well ahead of my expectations. The results were incredible. I couldn't even identify the area that had been patched, and the refinished back half of the house blended perfectly with the existing hardwood in the front half. They took care of all the minor imperfections I had pointed out during our walkthrough, and even a number things I hadn't asked for. Most surprising was how clean they left the house - I simply ran a dust cloth over the some of the baseboards for good measure (even though they really didn't need it), and I was ready to move our furniture back in place. Considering the disruption to our family's routine that I was mentally prepared for, this easily exceeded all expectations. I would hire this crew again in a heartbeat.

This job had a few parts to it, including: Removing the old, damaged maple floor in the kitchen and installing new red oak to match the rest of the hardwood on the first floor; silencing squeaks; and sanding and staining the entire first floor and stair treads. The most amazing thing that they did was greatly reduce the squeaking in our front hallway, dining room, and part of the living room. The crew worked incredibly hard and they were responsive to every single request we had. We couldn't be happier with the finished product and I highly recommend Mike and his team for any flooring project. The price was reasonable for the size and complexity of the job, which included the new kitchen floor, and I appreciated that Mike was creative in helping us get the floors we wanted without recommending that we get all new floors to silence the squeaks. I'm so happy to have been able to keep (through Mike's repairs) most of the 90-year-old original floor. Amazing job -- thank you!

Mike's honored their price in a proposal which was almost one year old. They arrived on the scheduled date. Three or four workers removed and replaced the damaged floor, sanded and applied one coat of finish on the first day. They were there until about 11 PM which was fine with us. On the second day, they buffed the first coat, applied a second coat, let it dry and then applied the final third coat of water-based finish. Water-based finish was at our request. We elected to not use a stain and simply have a "natural" wood color (a light gold look) which looked fine to us. The repair was flawless. One cannot tell the difference between the old and new parts of the floor. They were meticulous in closing-off the other rooms with plastic, and covering all cabinets, appliances, the island, etc., with plastic. I removed all furniture the night before to make their job easier (thinking that they will do a better job in that manner). I also covered all return air inlets in the affected rooms to prevent as much dust as possible from being sucked into the furnace and then redistributed throughout the house. Despite this and all other efforts, a small amount of fine wood dust was layered in the rooms on the first floor, but the rooms on the second floor were pretty much clean. It's always a messy job to do this, so we are big believers in hiring the right company to do a good job so it can last at least 10 years. We highly recommend using Mike's.

I was on a rushed schedule to get the job done so I could move in, and their team of 3 worked a 12 hour day to get it done. I could not be happier with that as I would not have been able to move in on time if the job had taken a second day. The price was about half of what I found elsewhere, so also thrilled about that. The only two things that could have been slightly improved were that our guest bedroom is less shiny than the other areas, which makes me think they forgot the second coat of poly. This is a very low traffic room, they got the job done in a rush, and I don't want the smell of the poly now that furniture is in here, so I didn't ask them to reevaluate it. The other thing is I had them replace some boards and address a very squeeky floor in the bedroom. It still squeeks pretty much as it did before the repair, but the bed covers most of that area, so also not a huge deal. Again, I'm choosing to leave it rather than have them come pull up boards and break the seal they applied. Overall, the floors look fantastic, but if you have the time I'd recommend paying for a third coat of poly to make them shinier. I just didn't have time to get that done on a second day. Fast, great price, and good quality of work.

Andrei and his team were awesome. Andrei came out and gave me a quote. We made a deal and his team showed up as promised. These guys worked fast! All of the work was done in one day. This worked well for us because that gave the floors more time to dry so that the painter could come in and handle his part of the work. The floors looked gorgeous when they were done - you wouldn't recognize them from the orange, oak floors that were there before. Would highly reccommend Mike's Hardwood Floors - they made everything so easy for us.

Andre and Mike's Hardwood Flooring were great! Brought a crew of 3 guys to sand and finish our hardwood floors, so they finished sooner than expected, in only one day. Easy to schedule and work with. Andre is very responsive and helpful.

my floors look beautiful, like new. I have oak and maple, both were redone. Guys moved the furniture and everything was done on schedule.

Mike was great. Walked us through the process patiently, answered all questions, and provided great recommendations. The work was fantastic. Every details was completed, even down to the small trim area by the front door. One thing to note: The formula he uses is of very high quality, but at least with my hardwood the resulting finish (satin) is more slippery than before. It took the dog a few weeks to get used to it. I would highly recommend Mike for anyone looking to refinish some old floors.

I'm not going to work with a provider that can't cancel an appointment or show up as scheduled. I don't have confidence that the job will go well.

Excellent experience working with Mike's HW Flooring. The quote was competitive, and the quality of the work excellent. My communication with Andre was prompt and clear, the job was done professionally and in a VERY timely manner. My newly finished floors look GORGEOUS! The crew cleaned up my apartment and left everything in great shape. Would most highly recommend and will use them again.

I had great service with Mike and his business. First, Mike is very timely in answering his phone and returning calls. I even reached him several times after hours and was very accommodating. In a day when it is often hard to get good service, Mike is a pleasure to deal with and took time to answer questions and accommodate my schedule. I do not have a lot of experience with the floor pricing, but after checking a few other businesses, Mike came in slightly below the others and I decided to use him, along with his good ratings on Angieslist. The work done was excellent and I am very happy with it. After I accidentally put a few scratches into the wood after it was completed, Mike made sure someone came right out to help with the problem and fix it. I look forward to using Mike's service again.

Not only was the work exceptional, but the customer service was outstanding as well. After the job was done, the floor was beautiful except one spot where it looked as though the stain had pooled. After contacting Mike, he sent out Andre and Andre refinished the entire floor again. When I called to thank him, he was very gracious and indicated how important it was to him for their customers to be happy. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to refinish wood floors.

They were very responsive. We had a price worked out within 2 days of my inquiry on Angie's List. We scheduled the work and his crew showed up when he said they would. They did a great job sanding the floors and removing the minor nicks and scratches. They gave us a choice of stain color by staining a small section of the floor with various stain colors until we chose the one we liked best. The final color and finish looks awesome. They finished the job per the schedule they established. Overall, they did an excellent job.

GORGEOUS! Joseph was the guy we worked with from Mike's. They did all of the work in just over a day, and everything looks fabulous. The carpets had been glued down with a ton of nasty glue, and they managed to get rid of it for us no problem. Put in nice transition pieces at entryways. I had heard horror stories about dust when refinishing floors, but there is no sign of that here! We'll definitely call them again when we need other rooms done.

The crew did a fantastic job on revitalizing my floors. The floors were sanded, stained dark walnut, and sealed. I didn't expect to see floors in my 60 year old house look like new. Andre and his crew go out of their way to deliver a great service. They also did some minor baseboard and quarter round work in areas that were damaged by me removing ceramic tile in the foyer area. Highly recommended!

He showed up promptly, did an extremely good job and left the place clean and tidy. The price was extremely competitive. His was friendly and easy to work with.

We had a little problem. When they left on a Thursday, it really hadn’t been done to our satisfaction. We did contact them. They were very good about coming again but I get the feeling like they were done that first day and I thought that it was not a good enough job if we hadn’t call them. It was done within a decent amount of time. It’s just that the first time that they came it really wasn’t done to my satisfaction. What stood out the most about my experience was good and bad because we had to call them back to redo what wasn’t done very well but then they came back and they did a decent job. They were very prompt about coming.

Andre over saw the project and he is a really nice guy. He worked along with two other men to get the job done asap and they worked long hours. The floors are beautiful and the price was reasonable.

Very impressed with the level of service and quality of work. I first contacted mike before we owned the home and he was upfront and honest about giving us a quote over the phone although he tried to give us a ballpark, and then went out of his way to accommodate our schedule when we could get into the home. He and his team were punctual and professional. They did an excellent job and my floors look beautiful. The team cleaned up after themselves which was a big plus! His price wasn't the lowest we recieved but it was competitive and it was well worth it.

Everything went better than I could have hoped. I negotiated with Mike to have him and his team move all of my furniture around from room to room as they finished the floors, as moving out and storing my belongings for a week was far more expensive than I could have anticipated. Even with adding $1200 for this service, it was still a better deal than other providers I looked at. We packed all of our belongings and stored them in the bathroom and kitchen, leaving just the furniture, and vacated our home for a week. When we returned, the floors were in amazing shape. Almost all evidence of water damage was gone. The uneven floor was level now, and the scrapes and scratches on the guest room floor were non-existent. The polyurethane color (3 coats) was exactly what I was expecting, and looks great with the wood finish throughout my home. The only negative of the entire experience was that they put our king-size bed back together incorrectly, which damaged some of the underbed storage drawers. It's an Ikea bed, so they can be complicated without instructions. We were able to put it back together the following day, and since the drawers are hidden, the damage isn't evident.
