Marian was tremendous. I had tight time constraints to refinish existing hardwood floors in a 3bdrm apartment between when old tenants moved out and new tenants moved in. Marian's team worked over a weekend and did excellent job sanding, repairing and refinishing the floors. Everything looks amazing and I am thrilled at the result. It was fantastic. Marian was able to meet me about 1 day after the close of our home to give an estimate, he got the quote turned around onsite and was able to start within days of coming out to do a quote. His team was courteous, clean and fast. The floors look new and we couldn't be happier with them!

Marian and Midwest to the rescue! Background: We very recently purchased a new home that had almost 1200 sqft of hardwood floors on the main level that we wanted sanded, stained and finished. We had also removed a wall separating the kitchen and family room which left a 12' section of hardwood that needed to be repaired/installed and tied into the existing floor. Originally we had a different company, not Midwest, come out to do the work, which was very sub par. The repair they did was horrible, it was very noticeable and the floor dipped where they made it. After 2 attempts at sanding, staining and finishing the floor, the end product was horrible. There was inconsistent shades and swirls in the stain and finish, uneven sanded spots and they left a mess. I found Midwest on Angie's List, called Marian and he was great from the start. Just by my description on the phone of how the floors looked, Marian was able to tell me the reasons and the steps the other company had skipped. We were also on a tight deadline trying to get the floors done before our daughter's 1st birthday party with almost 100 guests. Midwest was able to start the following Wednesday and was absolutely great. They arrived on time, kept a clean job site and kept me updated on the progress. The repair Marian did on the floor is seem less. When I tell people there was a wall there and the floor repaired they almost don't believe me. Midwest spent 3.5 days working on our floors and the end product is wonderful. They were able to correct the issues created by the original company. The stain is consistent and so much richer than the other company's attempts. The finish looks great. Marian is a true craftsman and an all around h*** of a guy. Marian is a hard worker and very busy, but always answered my calls and texts. I look forward to recommending Marian and Midwest and working with them again in the future. The only reason we didn't use his services was because we ultimately decided not to replace our floors. We were very impressed with his professionalism and he was very thorough in his assessment. A+++

They did a great job. Things to know before you finalize deal; 1. you should pull up the quarter round at the walls and put it back after they finish, it will look much better; 2. know if you want the floor restained, this will increase the cost; block air vents and seal off the area, the "dust free machines are not.

Marian arrived as agreed to quote the job. I was impressed by his knowledge and understanding of the hardwood trade. He knew the type of our floors immediately, and was able to suggest some good color options since we wanted to darken the color. His quote was fair, and off we went. His crew arrived on time and ready to go. They were professional and trustworthy enough that I left and extra set of keys for them. Over the few days it took to complete the job - they always kept things cleaned up as they went. My wife and I were very happy with the quality of work, and our new color! Marian even made a house call to check on the quality of work. I highly recommend Marian and his team!

This went very well. I was very pleased with the results. Marian was courteous and very responsive, quickly helping me to find just the right floor for me. He was able to schedule install very quickly after board approval and finished exactly when he said they would. They floors look beautiful (great installation) and they left very little dust, etc. when they were done. There was a small problem with a pocket door which was fixed the next day. I would highly recommend Marian for flooring installation!

Our floors needed some repairs and during the process of refinishing, several boards had to be replaced. I really think Marian went above and beyond on the work they did for us. Marian managed this process 100% and i really appreciated that hi text updates showing progress to the work. We will definitely be using Midwest Hardwood Floor again. Thank you MARIAN.

Marian and his team are nothing short of miracle workers. You cannot even see where he repaired/added new hardwood boards in our kitchen and the color match is flawless. Marian and his team had to mix a couple stain colors to get an exact match for the remainder of our home and aside from now looking newer in our kitchen, the color is an exact match. At my request, Marian held off on the final coat of Poly until the kitchen renovation was nearly complete to accommodate construction traffic in the kitchen area. As expected, there were a couple scratches and his team was able to sand/repair prior to the final coat. Thank you again to Marian and his team, they are my new favorite referral to share with all of our friends.

The performance went up to 98%. The on time start and and ultimate completion of the job on the floors of one apartment floor in my three flat was very helpful and satisfying. The price was acceptable for the work needed, some major repairs I had not expected but these did not affect the cost since he knew some major repairs under the floorboards had to be made. My only problem was that there was some excessive varnish build up in very small spots on the kitchen floor. The good news is that they responded to the problem quickly and corrected it right away. I was very happy with their work, and may need them again for another apartment next month when the tenants there move.

Marian was very helpful and straightforward from the first time we met. He set expectations around the work they would do and the length of time it would take. The cost was right in line with another estimate we received. The team worked diligently and were always on time. The floors look wonderful and they completed the project in their proposed timeline and made sure to come back to fix a small miss prior to us ever noticing it. I would recommend them to anyone.

At our closing for our new home, we found out that there was hardwood under the carpeting on our second story. With the help of family, I pulled up all of the carpeting, tack strip, nails and staples. Most of the floors were in rough shape. There was paint, carpet adhesive, and scratches all over. We were on a time crunch because we needed the floors to be done so we could move in. I contacted Midwest Hardwood Flooring via Angie's List and had an email that afternoon with times to come out for an estimate. I was able to get an estimate the next day and they were there to do the work in three days. The biggest reason we chose Midwest was the prompt turnaround and service. The employees that did the work were done in less than six hours and used a dustless system so-no mess! There was one bag of trash for me to take to the curb and then nothing but beautiful, new, hardwood floors. We will definitely contact Midwest when we are ready to refinish our first floor.

The floors look fantastic. We needed to go to the store right away to buy felt pads for everything because the floors seemed to scratch easy but I was told that was only bc they are fresh. Overall, happy wife happy life.

Marian did an excellent job refinishing our bamboo floors. We had some water damage and contemplated replacing the entire floor but Marian suggested we refinish it which saved us about $10k and it came out great. They even moved our furniture into one room and then back in place after they were done so we saved some money on movers. I would definitely use them again for a similar project.
