We had the pleasure of working with Midwest Hardwood Floors. Marion had his work cut for him repairing, sanding, staining and sealing our Parque floor. They could have not turned out better. Marion did a FANTASTIC job. Very efficient and timely. I would, and have, already recommended him!!

It couldn't have been more perfect! He arrived on time. He texted me to let me know how the job was going. He completed the job quickly and perfectly. And he made suggestions about what colors to use--he was spot on! I am extremely pleased!! And he's a nice guy, to boot!

Marian and his team did an amazing job. We have 45 year old parquet floors that were damaged and discolored. Marian repaired and refinished them and they are beautiful! Could not be any more happy on how our finished floors turned out. Marian is very professional and takes much pride in his work. I have, and will in the future, recommend him over and over again. This is the man to hire!

Fabulous! The floor is beautiful. Equally with detail was the process and service. The workmanship, professionalism, problem solving, timeliness was great. They started when agreed and finished when promised. Daily I would get pictures and updates. Now through my home is a beautiful walnut red oak floor. Marian and his company are soecialists who love what they do and treat your Percy as if it was his home.

Marian and his team were were very responsive and punctual through out the process. We had asked for an estimate approximately a year before deciding to have the work completed - Marian still had all the details available from the initial estimate process when we were finally ready. After his work, the floors look better now then they did when they were initially installed. The repaired areas blend in perfectly too. I would recommend this company.

Marian and his team were excellent. This was my first time ever needing work on my floors and he made it a breeze. I had water damage from another unit and got the whole condo re-sanded as well. The cost was right in line with another estimate we received.He gave me the best estimate and worked around my built in cabinetry. My floors look amazing. I was a difficult customer because I travel for work every week, but Marian was supportive and trustworthy - I didn't have to worry about anything! He even texted me photos DAILY about progress since I was out of town. From now on I will be using Marian and his team for all hardwood flooring. Really excellent and made a stressful process very easy. The Dustless Machine they used are amazing,very little dust during the refinishing process.

The job was top quality and our floors look brand new. It had very minimal dust. The only negative was that we found out last minute that we couldn't stay there the same night. It would have been good to know this upfront. We were able to make other arrangements but it would have been best if this was clear upfront. I would use this service again and recommend it to others.

I had a great experience. I had been dreading going through this process but could not put it off any longer. It turned out to be painless I moved my furniture on a Thursday, the work was performed Friday and Saturday, and I moved my furniture back on Monday. My floors look better now than they did when the house was first built. Marian delivered on everything that he promised. And I got a 10% Angie's List discount.

Marion and his company were absolutely fantastic. Marion was Incredibly trustworthy, responsive, flexible, honest, and a pleasure to work with. Most importantly, my floors and stair risers looked horrible after years of neglect and now look absolutely brand new. Really! I highly highly recommend this company.

The ome apartment building unit had extreme floor problems in the dining room. I and my help pealed off the vinyl sheets which sort of covered the wooden floor and found white paint over the entire room floor with strange stains, etc., on the white painted flooring. When I called Marian, from Midwest Hardwood Floors and requested his visit to inspect the damaged floor area and to help me to decide what to do with the floor problem in the dining room. When he arrived at the building and inspected the flooring, he suggested that the entire oak flooring be replaced, including the sheets of paper which were under the oak floor sections between major beams supporting the the floor. The entire dining room floor had to be sanded and varnished. The living room had several oak boards which were cracked or needed full replacement and the entire room also had to be sanded and varnished. The main bedroom only needed to be sanded and varnished. I really appreciated the fact that he was able to make a timely visit to view the 3 involved floors. Once we had reviewed all the floors which had to be improved or replaced, he was able to make me a very early start of the project which was important to me. His employees were very professional and did a great job on my floors. I also hired his company last year about March-April, 2015 to do less complicated repairs to another unit's flooring, and I was very happy with his service and assistants and that is why I hired his company again for this year's problems.

Marian and crew neglected to let the new wood for the floor sit in the house and cure (usually a week is recommended). Once the floor was installed they went right into sanding and adding coats of finish, and they used Masterline finish, the cheapest possible finish. After each coat there were significant bubbles in the finish because the wood had not fully cured and the finish could not keep up with a wood floor that was still acclimating to the humidity conditions of our house. After the fourth finish we ended our relationship with Midwest floors and hired another company to do the work (which worked out well). Marian did refund us $750, and he was good about coming out several times to inspect the floor. He seemed genuinely confused about the problem and did not deny that the finish was not drying properly but denied that the problem had anything to do with his company's workmanship.

Through research online I had read that refinishing maple a dark color can be a challenge and may not turn out well. Marian assured me it would turn out great and he was right, the floors look amazing. He arrived on-time for both the estimate and work, and kept me updated as he progressed over the two days. After the job was complete I noticed a few small areas in the corners that looked liked the stain was applied unevenly. I notified Marian and he was out the next day to fix them. Entire process was very smooth and the end product was above expectations.

Overall excellent job! Professionalism, quality, timeliness and price all great. I was not happy with one small area and they came back in less than 12 hours to not only fix the area but went above and beyond to satisfy me. I would recommend Midwest Hardwood to anybody with hardwood floor needs.

His team did a phenomenal job. He was very fast to respond to emails and did the job within a week of me contacting him. They were done in 2 days. His team kept my house clean during the whole thing. Loved everything about them. Would definitely use again and will refer all of my friends.

Checked into a number of companies before selecting Midwest Hardwood Floors. Some were willing to provide quotes without seeing our floors which caused us some concern. Marian came and looked at all the floors before providing an estimate. We had an out of town trip planned and wanted to be sure the floors were done during our time away to avoid hassle of living through it. Read some reviews of other companies making schedule promises and then continually pushing back date at the last minute. My husband was skeptical we could really pull this off. Marian handled this job in a most professional manner from start to finish. His cost estimate matched our expectations (not too low to cause concern about quality and not so high that it wasn't a good value) and he fulfilled all his commitments as promised. His crew showed up the day he targeted and when we returned the floors were done and looked beautiful. He was able to fix some deep scratches (from kids dragging furniture) and worn spots in the wood and the floors now look great. We thought some of the worst blemishes could not be repaired but he proved us wrong. Marian came over the day we returned to go over the job with us to be sure all was good. He was a delight to do business with. Marian's team does not move furniture and I would recommend hiring a professional mover to get the rooms cleared for refinishing.

We interviewed 3 installers whose names we found on Angie's list. Right from the start, before even being able to compare prices, we were impressed with Marian Grosu. We felt that he was extremely confident in his ability to give us exactly what we wanted. More than his abilities, we saw that Marian took pride in his work and would give us nothing less than what he would do for his own home. Concerned about details, Marian was present each day to be sure that his crew was doing excellent work. At the end of each day, the installers cleaned up, another point of professionalism. Marian promised the job completion in 4 days and, at the end of 4 days, the work was beautifully done .... and at a price that was less than the other 2 installers we interviewed. Unlike the other installers we interviewed, Marian told us he did not move furniture, so we contracted with a moving company to take care of moving all of the furniture out of the areas to be renovated. The other movers said that, while they weren't insured for moving furniture, they'd take care of it. That bothered me, for if they damaged walls or the furniture, who would have to pay for the repairs? At least Marian was straight up about not moving furniture. Marian's expertise enabled him to make suggestions to us that we didn't even think about and going with his suggestions made us even happier. To be sure we would enjoy our new floors for years, Marian taught us the best way to care for them. When asked if he knew any painters, Marian suggested Titan Painting. I didn't think Marian would suggest anyone who wouldn't do a great job. And, true to his word, Titi (from Titan Painting) was as professional as Marian. Titi's workmen were detail oriented, extremely friendly, and were careful to give us a quality paint job. I'd use Titi again and not even bother to call another painter. In addition to knowing his business, Marian is patient, has a wonderful sense of humor, and was responsive to each of our questions. He was right on top of the whole process to be sure we were happy. A couple of days after his crew and the painters left, I noticed a large deep scratch on the dining room floor. I called Marian; he came right out to see what could be done. Marian felt that the only way to fix it properly was to sand and refinish the entire area again. This he did on his own because he wanted us to be completely satisfied with the work that he provided. His good name was so important to him. I had complete trust in Marian (Midwest Hardwood Floors) and respect for his honesty ..... what he said and did he stood by 120%. Should we decide to install hardwood floors in the bedrooms, there's no doubt in my mind that I'd call Marian in a heartbeat. Looking at my new floors each day, I just smile ..... they're beautiful!

Marian (the owner) was outstanding. I had to delay the start by a day to slipped discs in my back and he was completely accommodating and went above and beyond helping to move the rest of the smaller stuff out of the entire 2nd floor (his crew was moving just the big furniture). They were prompt, courteous and FAST. I was amazed how quickly they moved through each step without sacrificing the quality. I will use them again for my downstairs.

Demonstrated clear expertise and honesty. Did the work on a very tight schedule. The result was nothing short of spectacular.

Marian has worked for us on two separate occasions. He is personable, professional and realistic about what work can be done at a reasonable price. Most recently he completed a refinishing of our arts and crafts stair. The stair was in poor shape -- 110 years of use -- and he did a tremendous job bringing it back to life. I highly recommend Marian for the quality of his work, his kindness and his work ethic.

Marian and his team are the consummate hardwood flooring professionals and craftsmen. The flooring job they did for us is beautiful and expertly done. Not only that, Marian was able to give us a hardwood floor in one room that is above a concrete slab. No one else gave us this option and we were led to believe that we were stuck with engineered wood that could be glued on the slab. Not so...Marian gave us a gorgeous hardwood floor and it looks amazing. His workers are very professional and work very hard. Marian is very pleasant, easy-going and easy to deal with. We will definitely use them again. We would recommend Marian and his team for hardwood flooring jobs, with one slight caveat: we would encourage Marian to become more of an expert in the best environmentally friendly floor finishing options. Even the standard (low VOC) stuff may be too much for people with chemical sensitivities. All in all, they did a great job and we look forward to have them do our kitchen.

If Midwest Hardwood Floors Inc. doesn't want to work in Zion, IL, then they never should have made the deal available to the 60099 zip code. I thinks it's wrong that I had to ask for a refund. They should have taken care of that for me. Now I have to wait a month to get my $1,700 back. In the meantime, I can't move into my new home or have any work performed because I'm waiting for my money. Good to know a small business is doing so well they can afford to turn down work.

I was working with another contractor so I appreciated the fact that Marian and his team were very flexible with their schedules. First they removed all of the old flooring and then let the other workers replace the walls and bathroom. Once the other work was done, in one day Marian and his team came in and finished the flooring in the master bedroom. Other than being brand new, you cannot tell the difference between the floors in the bedroom and the existing floors in the hallway. The new floors look great. Marian was very professional and charged exactly what he quoted. The work was covered by insurance and the amount he charged came in very close to the amount I received from the insurance company, which makes me feel his prices are very competitive. I will definitely repeat if needed.

The company was punctual and professional. They originally estimated 4-5 days for the job but completed it in three days. Work was excellent quality and the floors look beautiful.
