Description of Work: They packed everything but clothes and books in my house and moved me 4 blocks to another house.

Description of Work: Awesome customer service! My daughter ended up in the hospital the day before we were supposed to move. At the last minute they were able to change the packing and moving dates. Great to work with and very professional movers!

Description of Work: The company sent 2 men who supposedly knew how to pack dishes & glasses. They not only didn't know how but they threw the packing separators from my original dish boxes all over my kitchen floor. Then they piled my dishes into some lightweight boxes I had instead of using heavy ones for heavy or delicate items. They should have brought dish packs but didn't. For the 2 large wardrobe boxes I requested they brought used boxes that fell apart as I filled them. They came in a truck that was too small for the run & their supervisor tried to blame me because I said I had "some" boxes but not enough. So the men used everything I had & then sat on my kitchen counter while I brought my car filled to the gills to the new apt.. When I returned in rush hour traffic after making stops to try to get more boxes, they were resting in the itchen. Needless to say they could have cleaned up the mess of newspapers & dish dividers all over the floor. They said they couldn't do any more but there were at least 3 large bagfuls of plastic bags of varying size that I had told them to use after using all boxes. They ignored my request & carted them to the new apt.. By the way, all boxes marked for a room were ignored. They insisted their company could not help out in any way. But after 11 1/2 hrs. thier supervisor wanted total compensation for the time. I refused & said I wanted 1 1/2-2 hours removed from the bill. That was countered by an agreement to finish on Mon. for no charge. On Mon. I called the office to make sure everything was progressing at which time I was told that it would be done Tues.. I got angry & said that if it isn't done by 3 p.m. Mon.,I would turn this into a legal matter. She knew I needed my dishes, flatware, glasses, etc. for a holiday dinner that night. She didn't care but 2 very efficient men finished the job by 2:30 & presented me with a bill for $158- more. I refused & the office person said her men were to leave & I'd be sued for denial of compensation for services.

Description of Work: We can heartily recommend Joey's Movers of Skokie. We dealt with the owner and arranged for the move of the contents of our apartment to our daughter in Minneapolis and our son in Cincinnati. In short, we split the load, and they did a highly personalized and well-executed move!

Description of Work: THEY MOVED THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF OUR HOUSE, INCLUDING A SPINET PIANO AND A WASHING MACHINE, TO OUR NEW HOUSE. THIS WAS MOVING ONLY - NO PACKING. THE MOVE WAS LOCAL AND COMPLETED IN ONE DAY.
