Description of Work: Golan's moved us from Illinois to Michigan. We packed but they put blankets and wrapped every piece of furniture. Nothing was damaged and everything was handled with care. First day went amazingly fast with a large crew. Day 2 had a smaller crew since it was a smaller house but still moved quickly and finished well before expected time.

Description of Work: They packed our daughter's entire apartment and then made a stop at a storage facility in Chicago before transporting all of her belongings to a storage shed in Bloomingdale and finally delivered several key pieces to our home. The weather was a total downpour when they arrived at 7:00 a.m. and they worked diligently despite the rain all day. They were efficient, hard-working and kind. I would recommend them without reservation.

Description of Work: Excellent movers. Each time, something did get broken however; which I believe is the nature of moving. I recommend they pack fragile items. My packing didn't cut it. But the claim process is overwhelming.

Description of Work: I had used Golan's in 2 previous moves and had been satisfied with their service. The last move we used them, one of their employees opened a box a stole from us. According to Golan's they did a back-ground check but if you looked on Google, the guy's past mug shot was posted. Luckily, the police recovered 2 of the 3 items stolen. Golan did aid in the investigation but did absolutely nothing else for us. Only after we wrote a threatening letter did we get a phone call and then they were somewhat apologetic. We had our things stored with them (it was a 2 part move) and we were stuck using them again. They supposedly "helped us out" by putting a cost cap on the 2nd part of the move but incredibly the move came out to that exact amount - amazing! Legally, we had no recourse. Other than the criminal that was on their payroll, their other employees were curteous and professional. I would never use them again or recommend them.

Description of Work: When they packed me up originally bc I was moving out of state. They packed up the cable box after being told not to. My friend needed to return it. Then they wouldn't let my friend who I called and approved access to my thing, access to find the box so it could be returned and so I didn't have to pay $1000 to replace! Then when I was finally back and able to take my things out of storage with them, they lost the glass top to my desk for months! And things were damaged. No effort made to rectify it; the only good was they finally found the glass piece 3 months later and returned it. Only use them if you want your things handled poorly and want stuff to go missing

Description of Work: Terrible experience. The estimated packing would take four hours, it took nine ours. We then discovered they were in the midst of a labor dispute involving the Federal Labor Relations Board--the workers on our job were unskilled temps. They exceeded their estimate and I had to remove them from the job. Awful.

Description of Work: They broke a large mirror. Since the "office wasn't open," they could not report it at the time. When the office was open, the vendor gave me the run around regarding paperwork as the actual mover staffed would have to sign off on it. What a shame as the mover himself admitted to it during the move and helped take pictures, but because his English wasn't very good, I could not get individual contact information for him, nor did I think that would be necessary. After reporting my issues with sales, the response was unconcern. It was extremely unprofessional for what would amount to a $50 claim. I don't blame the mover himself as mistakes happen but the lack of corporate responsibility is troublesome. Their insurance is not worth it as they make it impossible to file a claim.

Description of Work: Moved a whole household. They were very helpful, efficient and ploite. They worked quickly without damaging any of my things. It was a really warm day but they kept going until the job was finished. A few boxes ended up in the wrong rooms, but overall very satisfied with their services.
