I spoke with a sales representative prior to the move to discuss my items & timing. I had a last-minute conflict on the date of the move, & they agreed to come a day early (with less than 48 hours notice). The team of 3 men arrived within the window of time I discussed with the sales representative. They were very careful & efficient. They had a few tight spots to go through, but found ways to move everything with no damage to furniture or property. They were very conscious about laying down blankets to clean their shoes in the rain & to cover the carpet with plastic. They condensed all of their garbage & packing materials in one place when they left. It all went well.

I called for a quote and they came out to see the house - other companies wanted to quote by phone. Quote was $2800 - about average, but I had heard good things. They showed up 20 minutes late, but we were in an unfamiliar area for them. Once they arrived (7 workers), they worked very fast. They did a very nice job and actually came in $1000 less than the quote!

Tami was in very good contact the two weeks before my move. She had many helpful suggestions to make the move smoother. The crew showed up 15 minutes early. They got started right away. They worked steadily throughout the day. They were more than willing to disassemble some furniture. They also completed packing last minute items. Overall they were very good. The only two issues I had were: 1) The last few items I had them pack were pretty much just tossed into a large cardboard box. Some were breakable items. Everything arrived intact, but it was still disconcerting. 2) The crew charged me for an additional 15 minutes at the end. I inquired as to why and was given reasons ranging from they needed to return a cart they accidentally took from the other building, to I needed to pay for them to get to their next job. I emailed Tami about this afterwards and she promised the 15 minutes would be refunded. I believe her. Still waiting for it, though. (Only been two weeks).

Team of three arrived 15 minutes early. They started working right away and were helpful and friendly. They took good care to wrap and protect all pieces of furniture. All three of the movers worked hard and fast. At our new place they took the time to ask exactly how we wanted things set up and also to keep our floors and carpet clean. I tipped each of them at the end.

We had failed to finish packing, so they took over. We could have probably saved an hour of billed time had we finished. But they were so quick, I don't mind. Not one thing was broken. Amazing. My only complaint, not really a complaint, the estimate was a bit vague. She talked about the time for moving but failed to mention that they charge you up the wazoo for "materials: tape, boxes". This was a substantial amount. Order a packing kit from Home Depot for $299 and get twice as many boxes! Overall, the price seemed fair, just the breakdown of labor vs materials was a little off putting. We had a LOT of stuff to move on short notice. All considered, they were great and the price was fair.

A team of 6 men with 2 trucks arrived promptly at 9 am. They worked efficiently and took great care with all of our boxes. The items that they wrapped themselves were much better protected than those that we wrapped ourselves. Overall, it was a very nice job!

This is the second time we used Golan. They are the best. Everything was moved in perfect condition and they did a great job packing up our kitchen. They are quick and reliable. Diana is a pleasure to work with in setting up the move. I would recommend them without any reservation.

GREAT! The crew was on time, never stopped working, and very careful. The quote was 3,210 (we have a lot of stuff), and they came in almost 700 less! They would have finished even sooner, but they had to wait about two hours while we got keys for the new house. I received two other quotes; one for $4,840 and one for $3,281.

It was excellent. I had looked at other A rated companies on Angie's List but I was blown away by Golan's. They showed up early (early!) they worked with us to park the moving truck on the street even though we had to have an illegally parked car towed, they were fast but careful with fragile items. We started at 8 am and were finished by 12:30 pm. Diana's estimate for materials was off by only $2 and the move took about 30 minutes longer than scheduled. I would definitely use Golan's again.

I arranged to have them come to my house and transfer furniture from one house to another first. They arrived on time and accomplished this without any hitch. They were able to move all the furniture within my house easily within the 2 hour minimum so I asked to have them do some additional moving for me. They were fine about doing it, but it involved moving a treadmill from my basement up the stairs to the garage. In doing so they had to take down a shelf in the hallway, which got pretty beat up because it was "locked" into the wall with a "butterfly closure" and the wall got scraped up quite a bit. It was a difficult piece to move in a tight space, and I needed to paint the wall anyway so it wasn't a big deal. They also pulled a railing halfway out the wall which I wasn't aware of at the time and they failed to mention that to me.

They were very quick and efficient. We wanted to have the new apartment all set up before our mother arrived. Golan's quickness and carefulness allowed us to do just that. They were great to work with.

I got an estimate for apx. $1120.00 for the job of moving me from my apt. to a home. The job was done in nearly half the time and at nearly half the cost estimated. Everyone involved, from the representative, Richard Hain, to the person answering the phones, to the movers, were polite, early to arrive and completely upfront and honest with what was involved. I cannot recommend them enough. Thanks Golan, Scott Curtis.

Good. The movers arrived on time and were well-equipped. They worked fast and efficiently. They even worked through lunch. They wrapped each piece of furniture with soft blankets. They did charge extra for each roll of packing tape they used (which was cheap and not much on each roll of tape so this was a rip off). No furniture was damaged. They were friendly and receptive to my requests. They did have to take apart and rebuild one of our armoires because it was too big to move. They did not put it back together correctly (it was wobbly and ready to fall after they reassembled it) so I had to take it apart myself and put it back together because I did not discover this until they left. I wish they would have told me they had to take the armoire apart, I would have done it myself before they even arrived.

They did a great job. They very careful and on time and courteous.

The movers effectively packed everything and moved it out in the time they said they would, providing a complete inventory. The company had previously provided an estimate, which was accurate. I had to point out a couple of things that they had forgotten to pack, but otherwise had no problems.

The movers arrived on time and were very efficient. The price quoted was reasonable and within the range of other companies contacted. The only reason that we could not rate them as "Excellent" on all aspects was that one of our bikes was left by the freight elevator in our apartment. Luckily the maintenance staff found the bike and returned it to our storage locker. Otherwise the experience with Golan's was excellent, and we will use them again for any local move.

Excellent and careful movers. They truly went the extra mile of care in their packing and removal of the furniture. They even took off their shoes.

Overall, I'd give them a B grade. The big important stuff was done fine. All our furniture and fragile items made it into the new house with no damage. Other positives; they came in under budget. They made a big effort to move some furniture to the 3rd floor that was simply too big to get up the narrow stairway. They worked hard without ever sitting down. On the negative side; the last minute items packed on moving day were crammed into the boxes with no attention to breakage. I lost two lamps and a lampshade that was jammed into a box with no wrapping at all. Only the foreman spoke English, and while he tried hard to direct his guys, he couldn't be everywhere, and so they had to re-do some things because they couldn't understand my directions. A lot of boxes ended up in the wrong room because they couldn't read my (carefully marked) labels. I got three estimates for the move. Golan was mid-priced and I guess I got "middle of the road" work. I'd try a different company next time.

They were more than on time, Totally accommodating, and willing to rework the quote and go over things. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The guys were great. They handled my antique furniture with great care and there was not a scratch on it upon arrival. I was very impressed with their care and speed.

I was extremely pleased with Golan. The three-man crew arrived on time and were very polite. They did a careful job wrapping up and moving the furniture. It was a very heavy dining room set and they took it up two flights of stairs with absolutely no problems or damage. Their hourly rate was competitive with other estimates I received. I will definitely use Golan again should the opportunity arise.

Overall they were very good. All of our items arrive intact, & they seemed to be careful with out furniture & boxes. They do work on an hourly rate & at one point it seemed like only 2 of the 4 were working, but that was after many hours of hard labor & no break. Everyone was very polite & professional, & they seemed careful with our belongings. The move took 8 hours instead of the estimated 6, but we did have some large pieces. They also seemed a little excessive with the tape, but again nothing really broke. Somehow 2 of our shelves for our book case are missing, but I haven't called the company yet to see if they were left on the truck. I did a visual scan of the truck before they left & didn't see anything. They could have left them behind. Anyway, nothing major went wrong & they seemed to work hard.

I had used Golan in my last 2 moves and was very happy with their services. In November of 2005 I moved into my new husband's furnitureless condo. I have tons of furniture and he had just a bed and a futon couch. It cost about $350 with tip. Since we just sold the condo, I had to move again. However, this time we moved on a holiday. I think we either got the newbies or the part time replacements for our move. They were painfully slow and broke or crushed several items. I didn't claim them because it seemed like more trouble than it was worth. One item was part of an IKEA wardrobe and the other was a basket to an Elfa shelving system. Even though my husband moved most of the boxes ahead of time, it cost us almost $300 more than our last move. I was not pleased with Golan this time.
