Golan's Moving & Storage Inc

So things happen when you move and things can get damaged and things can get broken, it's what a company does to resolve these issues that matters. I submitted 2 estimates, 1 for a broken glass top table and 1 for damage to my bedroom set, the 2 estimates total $749.70, what I am being offed is $315.00, that $434.00 less than the estimates. I have used Golan's twice and referred them to two friends that also used them and I reminded them of this and this is how they treat a good customer. In my opinion I would look for another mover.

From the time we made the first call to Pablo to coordinate, to the time the team leader Martin finished up, they helped all along the way, and were efficient, courteous and careful. Know that Ikea furniture is fragile, but there was only one little ding on a book shelf afterwards. And Martin performed a miracle when our sectional wouldn't go through the door at the new condo. He ended up taking off the base to make it work, and then put it back together. I don't know what I'd have done if he wasn't committed to getting that moved in! The cost is hourly for # men + 1-time charge + materials. If you get more done ahead of time, you will save money. Otherwise, it will take longer than you think, and you may get surprised with charges. We felt the charges were very reasonable. Approx. $1015 to move from 2 bedroom to 1 bedroom, including packing up the kitchen. I'd recommend them again for sure!

The movers destroyed my Plasma TV along with several other fragile items and would not honor the extra insurance I had purchased. Scam!

Poorly. Never responded to my email after they asked me to provide them information about the amount of furniture to be moved in each room. Very unprofessional.

They arrived on time and worked hard to get everything packed into the truck. Had a snag where the supervisor told us the truck wasn't big enough to hold everything, but once we contacted our move coordinator, he was able to send a second truck for no additional cost to us. The next day, after our purchase closing, the arrived and unloaded everything. They worked in the rain and in the dark at the end, finishing around 9 PM. A few items were damaged during the move, but that's to be expected. All the movers were extremely hard working and respectful. Have in the past and will continue to use them for all our moving needs.

We have used Golans before. This second time was just as great as the first move with you. Richard Hain was excellent in providing estimate and follow up. Our team of movers were great. We fed them donuts and Jimmy Johns ! They were professionals and easy to work with. They put all of the furniture and boxes where we wanted them. They cleaned up the blankets and tape and wardrobes too. Thanks ! I definitely recommend them to family and friends.

From the beginning to the end Golan movers were very professional. Movers were on time. Gave me an estimated time frame of finishing my move. I was pleased to notice that movers were focused on handling my furniture and my other belongings with care. It was not an easy move, some pieces of my furniture were super heavy and it looked like they would not make it to the new place BUT Golan movers attempted several different ways of getting my oversized couch into my new living room and succeeded! If I ever need to move again, I will definitely use Golan's moving services.

This is the third time that we have used Golan's to move. They do an excellent job. We used a four person crew. They arrived early and worked relentlessly for eight hours, plus some added time to take the stuff going to storage to their facility, so total move time we paid for was 10 hours. They moved large items, like a sectional couch and upright piano, to their storage. They moved furniture ranging from futons to beds to dining room table and buffet to an apartment four doors down from our house. They packed up our kitchen, pantry and closets. We had packed up some stuff, but they pack much more quickly than we could. They placed furniture in our new apartment according to our instructions. All four movers were friendly and professional. We did not find any damage to our items moved to the apartment. They are a more expensive option, but you get good value for that extra money. We paid about $1500 for the moving time and about $500 for moving supplies. We will use them again to move back to our house after completing a renovation.

They were very reasonably priced and professional.

They were terrible. Every piece of furniture they moved was SCRATCHED. They damaged a piano we wanted to have in the family for a while. After beating up the basement and stair walls with multiple scratches, they didn't even reattach the door they took off. I didn't buy the extra insurance because, seriously, it was one floor, up and down. So their uncaring response was, despite numerous request, to only provide the 30% per pound state required cost, which doesn't cover anything. This is a terrible company run by an unsympathetic owner. I do not recommend using them ever.

Arrived on time work fast and polite guys

The 4 man crew was punctual, professional and careful with our belongings. They were cheerful and positive which makes a huge difference on a stressful busy day. Golan's was easy to schedule with, gave us a pretty dead-on estimate, and was a pleasure to work with. We hope to not move again for a very very long time but will absolutely recommend them to any of our friends/family that have a move in their future.

All was according to the discussed plan, the crew showed up at my old home 15 minutes before the time we set, they preformed one round of moving to the new home and unload it.

it went great. everything went well on budget and on time. as usual moving is very stressful and they made it stress free. it took about an hour longer than anticipated but it was a hot day.

We moved with Golan's in December 2015. As we were waiting for our new home to be completed, Golan's offered us storage in their controlled and secured facility in Skokie. A week later, when our home was complete, Golan's showed up on a Sunday and moved our "life" back in. To put this in perspective, we essentially moved 4 times. Once out of our condo, again into storage, another out of storage and finally the 4th time into our new home. 1 broken glass. That's IT (and - it was from my packing, not their moving)!!! We are so incredibly pleased w/ the staff, the moving crew and the process. Jose and his team, were just flat out awesome. They treated our stuff as it was theirs. They helped me set up my pool table, they put blankets around our old and new home to protect the floors. They were polite, great w/ my kids, extremely nice and reassuring to my wife and most importantly, incredibly professional. Jonathan was awesome to work with. He coordinated everything for us and even helped us get the same crew we had moving out for moving in. It just felt good. This is the 3rd time I have used Golan's and it's been 5 star service each time. Thank you Jose, Jonathan and the Golan Team. You have no idea how appreciative we are!!!

My experience with Golan's was abysmal. A number of items were damaged. They were ignorant of how to properly wrap furniture for long-term storage. For example, they wrapped my leather backed dining room chairs and leather head board in plastic wrap which constricted the leather and trapped moisture in. When I get the furniture back the leather was ruined. What really was terrible, however, was my experience in trying to collect on claims for the damage. During the initial move, the Golan's foreman tried to sell me extra insurance. You could tell this was something he was trained to do, in other words upsell the customer with added coverage. Well guess what - I bought it. You can imagine what happened next. When I tried to collect on the insurance for the damage to my leather chairs and goods they sent me to an "Adjustor" company based in New Jersey. The adjustor kept asking for more and more information, delaying and delaying compensation. Then they came back and offered me $300 when my own estimates came in at $7,000 to repair the damaged furniture and replace the leather on the chairs and beds that was ruined. The $300 was less than the insurance policy they sold me! I filed a report on them with the BBB and I see they only get a "B" on Angie's List. They deserve an F.

The quote was lower than the actual cost when all was said and done & it was time to get pay. I complained and escalated it and then the extra charges were reduced so it ended up being in our favor. There was just a disconnect between their sales people in Los Angeles who did the initial quotes and then the reality of how heavy our stuff was! Overall I was satisfied: the LA crew packing our stuff did a good job, our stuff wasn't damaged, deadlines were met, and the costs all worked out as budgeted in the end.

We used Golan to move us from a storage unit and a our old home to our new home. We had two trucks and 4 guys and the move went very smoothly. The movers were on time, professional and FAST! None of our possessions were lost or broken. Golan can be pricey but it was worth it because they were very careful and accommodating. They made, what can be a torturous process, so much easier. I would definitely recommend them and use them again myself.

Worst movers I've ever used, not worth the time or the money. Use them at your own peril. Management did not make any offers for bad service or extreme underestimation of time needed to move.

Went extremely well. While it was not the most competitive price. The movers were quick courteous and professional. Definitelyworth the extra money.

They arrived exactly on time. I did have to provide/pay for parking but that is expected. They found street parking and it was $8. They moved eight filing cabinets from one office to various places within our office space. They then moved remaining parts for junking to our freight area. The cost broke down as $70 for travel time and a minimum of 2 hours at $60/hour for two men. They did a really great job. They finished well within the two hour time limit - we had to wait for a cabinet person to disassemble the cabinets before they could be moved. It all went really well. The movers were friendly, efficient and punctual. I certainly would use this company again.

We are very pleased with them. We have no complaints whatsoever. The price was in the ballpark. The guy was grabbing hangers, 6 shirts simultaneously and is rehanging them for us. I can't put a price on that. If I were to take them out of the storage, I would take one or two at a time. They worked very hard and they were very reasonably priced. They were excellent! They were on time, they were polite, and they did whatever we asked. I get what I paid for. Prices is not always the consideration. As you get older in life, you are going to realize that you don't necessarily get ripped off if you buy something more expensive. It might last you longer. It might perform better. As far as the moving price, it was very fair and reasonable considering the hard work those fellows put in. I have used them before. I get a crew of 4 fellows, but it's not necessarily the 4 same guys every time I will use a moving firm. I can get 3 schtumps and 1 good guy. In our case, we got 4 excellent fellows working. Generally speaking, I was very happy with them. I have used them in the past and I definitely will use them again.

It was fine. There was some mix-up and they fixed that issue. They showed up when they were supposed to.
