Golan's Moving & Storage Inc

The team was great. They were on time and worked straight through until everything was unloaded and in the place I wanted it in the new apartment. They took care of the furniture and boxes, so that nothing was damaged. The entire move took longer than I expected, so it cost more than I expected, but they worked quickly and efficiently, and I don't think they did anything to drag the job out.

They were very good! The young man, Tom, I spoke to several times on the phone had fabulous customer service. I called 3 movers and their price was reasonable and I selected them because they gave me such good customer service. Tom actually sent me an email with all the information for my specific move. That was what sold me!

Company provided four men and a truck. Paid an hourly rate for the men, a truck/travel charge, and an amount for the boxes tape provided by them. They showed up early. The movers were polite and treated my belongings well. They moved my two bedrooms worth of stuff in 4 hours and 45 minutes (which included travel). I am very pleased with the move. I find moving to be extremely stressful. These guys significantly reduced the stress. I would use them again.

Job completed in 3 hours. I needed to stay at the initial moving apartment so I told the guys to start unpacking the truck and where to put everything since no one would be there. They followed my instructions to the letter. Great guys who worked fast and with ease. Everything went wonderful from calling the office to set up the date to my final good bye to the moving men.

Very accommodating with regard to move dates. Not overly anxious to 'hold' a date or time, but that is understandable. Once a date was settled upon, they arrived promptly with half the recommended crew. The rest was on the way. When they did arrive, we were appropriately charged for. Handled some very heavy furniture without damaging, with included 'dropping' off a balcony (the only way to go out, the same method incidentally to get the piece in the home originally, by Golan's then as well). The only complaints were the possibly excessive use of tape (hard to not use when you charge by the role), and a charge of 15 minutes (for the whole crew at 140/hr) to access the project when they first arrived. I feel this was one man's job, not three, and shouldn't have had to pay for the other's to watch. Beyond that quite competent, and reasonably efficient/productive. Had better moves, but over all they did what was required, and did it well.

The move was great, but they quoted the job significantly lower than what I was charged. They charge for individual boxes, tape, and papers used. We spent close to a $1000 for boxes and paper used to pack a two bedroom condo. They were courteous in every stage, but I would've appreciated them being more informative about the prices and how they pack.

It went great. They were a very hard working bunch, and not a speck of damage to any of my things.

Golan's was just fantastic and made my move as hassle free as possible. They were very neat and careful with my belongings. The men were also very fast, efficient, and well trained.

The move went extremely smooth. There were two minor points. First a six foot long scratch was made across a slate tile floor in the duplex we were leaving. This was made by the movers pushing a piece of furniture. Fortunately the buyer of the duplex was not concerned and did not make us pay for it. The second issue was we had about 100 boxes for them to use to pack. The crew did not use about 20 of the boxes but rather charged us for new ones. Again, not a major point, as it maybe cost us an additional $100, so I'll rate price at B for this and the scratch. The moving crew themselves were professional and did an excellent job packing, we came through with nothing broken. Also, scheduling changes we needed to make were not a problem.

We were very pleased with Golan's. Our street was under construction at the time of the move. But, this did not deter the movers from getting to our house and handling the job efficiently. They arrived the day they promised (and called when they were going to be an hour late). The crew was very professional; they moved every piece of furniture (including an extraordinarily large couch) out of the house without a scratch. They padded furniture and mirrors. And they informed our daughter, as promised, as to the delivery date. For this type of move (exact delivery date not critical, cost-efficient approach preferred), we were very satisfied with Golan's.

The movers showed up promptly at the designated time. They worked quickly and wrapped the furniture in padding and carefully loaded the boxes marked fragile. They delivered the furniture carrying it up 3 flights of stairs to a third floor apartment. They then went to the auction warehouse and delivered the items there. They worked very efficiently.

They were great to work with from the start. They gave us a quick estimate and helped us determine how many people we should get. The day before I had to add a person because of a time crunch with moving. and they were more than willing to help us out. They were on time the move day. And moved everything in 4.5 hours. They were very professional and took care of our antiques and furniture with lots of care. They did a great job.

They did not perform the work. Although they received glowing reports on Angie's List, they did not glow for me. I tried to get a quote for an interstate move and 1 month storage. Although most of your recommendations were local moves, they received great references. Steve Graham quoted me an estimate on the phone and after I narrowed it down to 3 movers, I asked him to send out a rep for an actual quote. He wanted to send out just the right experienced person, so I had to wait over a week. When I called about an hour AFTER the time scheduled for the estimator to arrive, I asked for Steve. He informed me that he forgot to write it on the log. At least he was honest. But I had rearranged my work schedule to accommodate his coming. I was not happy!!! This is the first category that Angie's List has disappointed me. Otherwise my luck has been super.

Tami Dorazio, the Golan rep, was very responsive and provided friendly customer service. Golan provided 4 movers at a cost of $126 per hour, plus a one time travel charge of $63 (packing materials for the big furniture such as padding, tape, etc was $78 total). The 4 movers were very careful with all of our items, carefully wrapping and padding all of the furniture, before moving it. They were very efficient, but careful with all of the wood floors in the old and new place.

The movers arrived at 12:30 p.m. We were told they would arrive between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. They called at 11:00 a.m. to say they'd be here at 12:30 p.m. They loaded the truck in about two hours. We didn't have lots of big furniture, but we did have about 100 boxes, mostly heavy with books and records. With the big furniture that we did have, they took extra care in wrapping it. At the house, they were great about checking where we wanted everything placed, and again did a careful job with our furniture. The only strange thing was that they always just carried one small box at a time and they didn't use a dolly. Many of the boxes were heavy, but other movers we've had would carry at least two or three boxes at a time and use a dolly to speed things up. They still came in under the time and money estimate, though, so it wasn't a problem. Overall we were happy with the move and things went very smoothly.

The move went very smoothly. Golan's had a team of 5 men that showed up early and were ready to go. They were very professional, methodical and careful not to damage the condo, the furniture or our home. The supervisor of the team first went into the condo to survey what needed to be moved, and then the team quickly got to wrapping the furniture in blankets, boxes, taping, etc. and then got moving. Whenever they found anything on the furniture which was at all even slightly damaged / blemished (all of which we were aware were from prior incidents), they pointed it out before preparing the move. They continued to work very quickly and efficiently, and were very courteous throughout the whole process, despite some difficult pieces to move, some tight corners and a hot day. They unpacked everything, cleaned up nicely, set up the rooms and reassembled the furniture (bed frames, etc.) and were on their way. We were completely satisfied with their efforts and highly recommend Golan's.

Golan's sent a 5-man team, and they were incredibly efficient. They arrived on time, were very courteous, and were very careful with our belongings. The total move took a bit longer (7.5 hours) than most two bedroom moves due to the time required to move belongings between our condo and the loading dock, but I don't think that anyone could have done it faster. Although we packed boxes before Golan's arrived, there were still some items that needed packing, which Golan's performed professionally.

I would highly recommend this company for anyone's move. The crew of five guys were quick, efficient, polite, and most of all CAREFUL. I had several items of high value including Artwork, Antique Furniture and collectible glass/pottery. Victor and his crew were absolutely GREAT!!! THANK YOU GOLANS FOR A SMOOTH MOVE!

They came early, worked for 6 solid hours before taking a break, and were very efficient. I would definitely hire again.

I spoke with a sales representative prior to the move to discuss my items & timing. I had a last-minute conflict on the date of the move, & they agreed to come a day early (with less than 48 hours notice). The team of 3 men arrived within the window of time I discussed with the sales representative. They were very careful & efficient. They had a few tight spots to go through, but found ways to move everything with no damage to furniture or property. They were very conscious about laying down blankets to clean their shoes in the rain & to cover the carpet with plastic. They condensed all of their garbage & packing materials in one place when they left. It all went well.

I called for a quote and they came out to see the house - other companies wanted to quote by phone. Quote was $2800 - about average, but I had heard good things. They showed up 20 minutes late, but we were in an unfamiliar area for them. Once they arrived (7 workers), they worked very fast. They did a very nice job and actually came in $1000 less than the quote!

Tami was in very good contact the two weeks before my move. She had many helpful suggestions to make the move smoother. The crew showed up 15 minutes early. They got started right away. They worked steadily throughout the day. They were more than willing to disassemble some furniture. They also completed packing last minute items. Overall they were very good. The only two issues I had were: 1) The last few items I had them pack were pretty much just tossed into a large cardboard box. Some were breakable items. Everything arrived intact, but it was still disconcerting. 2) The crew charged me for an additional 15 minutes at the end. I inquired as to why and was given reasons ranging from they needed to return a cart they accidentally took from the other building, to I needed to pay for them to get to their next job. I emailed Tami about this afterwards and she promised the 15 minutes would be refunded. I believe her. Still waiting for it, though. (Only been two weeks).

Team of three arrived 15 minutes early. They started working right away and were helpful and friendly. They took good care to wrap and protect all pieces of furniture. All three of the movers worked hard and fast. At our new place they took the time to ask exactly how we wanted things set up and also to keep our floors and carpet clean. I tipped each of them at the end.

We had failed to finish packing, so they took over. We could have probably saved an hour of billed time had we finished. But they were so quick, I don't mind. Not one thing was broken. Amazing. My only complaint, not really a complaint, the estimate was a bit vague. She talked about the time for moving but failed to mention that they charge you up the wazoo for "materials: tape, boxes". This was a substantial amount. Order a packing kit from Home Depot for $299 and get twice as many boxes! Overall, the price seemed fair, just the breakdown of labor vs materials was a little off putting. We had a LOT of stuff to move on short notice. All considered, they were great and the price was fair.
