Went very well, they where on time and nice guys.

Everything went well. On time, job finished in a timely fashion, no breakage or damage.

The work was good. They were on time and handled the furniture with care. Very professional. There was some miscommunication on the measuring and there were problems moving the sofas. This caused a little mishandling of some furniture.

They did a good job with the packing. They were very good at their job and they wrapped things very well. They took good care of my belongings and were very careful with them. The deliverers were also good at what they did.

This was the second time we used to move. They always show up on time to do the work. They are very careful with everything when they are moving everything. We used our own U Haul truck and the loaded and unloaded at no extra charge.

They were early and did a really good job at moving all my furniture. They were decently priced and I had no problems with them. I have already referred them to someone else.

They did an excellent job. The plants were moved without incident. No breakage. The movers were nice, helpful and professional. They were willing to help me move furniture around after the move even though I moved the furniture several times.

The best things were that the sales people were very nice, the movers showed up on time, and nothing was damaged. The frustrating part was that either the foreman did not understand English or he had a blatant disregard for simple instructions. At the beginning I explained that the first stop would be at the storage unit (since it was closest to the original place, not the destination.) So when the truck was finally packed up and I gave him the address for the storage place, he said "Oh, we packed the truck with all of the storage items in the back." Maybe this wouldn't have been such a big deal if it hadn't taken 4 hours to load everything up from a ONE bedroom condo. And no, I don't have that much stuff, and everything was packed, labeled and ready to go...They were just VERY slow. There was a lot of 3 guys watching one work. So then they said they knew where the storage place was so I drove ahead. They showed up 1/2 hour later than me at a place that was a 5 minute drive. I then explained that I had two units. One was for long term storage, the other would be moved again a couple months later. When I came back 15 minutes later, they were loading the lockers incorrectly, so they had to switch everything over. When we finally arrived at the condo, they did manage to unpack it in just a little over an hour. But by the end it was a 7 hour ordeal. When I called to complain the next day, the sales person was again very nice. He said they "never" get complaints, so he was shocked I had a bad experience. And he said he was sorry that there was nothing they could do, but they have an outside company that handles complaints. But the complaint company wanted me to get competitive bids to show that this was out of line. So I did that, and I found a better company. For a nearly identical move two months later, which was yesterday, I used USA Moving, and they did the entire job 2 1/2 hours faster. That experience was outstanding.

When we called Golan's they were able to schedule our move quickly, on the day that we wanted. We ordered some boxes from them and asked them to be dropped off. They couldn't deliver the boxes for a few days, and on the day they were supposed to, the boxes didn't show up. I called the company and, after a little searching, they must have figured out that the box order had been misplaced. They apologized and delivered the boxes on the same day. On the day of the move they we had a crew of four movers. They were very polite and very careful with our belongings. We had pretty much an entire kitchen to wrap up and they did it quickly and carefully. We also asked them to do some extra stuff for us like haul a few items of furniture to the alley-- things we didn't want to move-- and again, they were very polite and professional and did everything we asked without even a second thought. When we arrived at out new home they were very accommodating about placing items exactly where we wanted. They even moved our bed to another wall when we changed our minds about where we wanted it. Again, we had all sorts of special requests-- put this box here, that one there, etc.-- and they did everything we asked without a problem. Overall, we were very pleased with our move.

I was moving out of state (again) and needed good movers for all of my antique furniture. I've used Golan's for all kinds of cross-country moves in the past and things have always gone well (3 moves in and out of Chicago the past 8 years). This time I also needed them to store my entire house for a couple of months while I am house shopping. I looked into self storage, but worried about pests and safety. Knowing Golan's has everything is complete peace of mind. I haven't found a house yet, but I'm sure that when I do, Golan's will deliver everything quickly and politely and in great shape.

Things got broken and the insurance they sold us didn't work. They were hard working guys but the company overall was sub-par.

The crew was fantastic. They worked very hard and took great care with our things. They packed our entire home (kindly leaving us a bathroom in tact until the next day when we actually moved). Two trucks carried our things the next day to our new home where they unloaded everything. They were patient as I put felt feet on the furniture before they put it on the hardwood flooring. There was nearly zero marks on any walls (at the old and new houses).

I had previously used Golan's Moving and Storage for a move in May of 2007 and was very satisfied with the overall move with some minor damage. However my move with them in May 2008 from Chicago to Royal Oak, Michigan was not quite as pleasant. First the packers did not arrive until very late in the afternoon (4 pm) on Thursday, May 29th to start the pack. The move to Michigan was not a great experience. I explicitly gave them directions that they needed to notify me an hour before their arrival in Royal Oak because I had to commute to meet them. They called 15 minutes before they were arriving. Additionally they broke my dining room table and I mysteriously am missing one box that contained a large dollar amount of collectible bottles of wine and liquor (not collectible). In addition, the estimator gave me guaranteed pricing not to exceed specific costs on the packing costs and the move itself and every time I had to sign documents the costs changed. They kept trying to charge me more than what I was guaranteed.

Due to some problems I had moving into my new place, I had to reschedule my appointment twice. Golan's was very receptive and accommodating both times, in particular with the second change, as I had to not only change my appointment, but also request that they move my belongings into storage instead of the new place. They were professional and polite, and were more than punctual- they were actually early. Because my move was a difficult in other respects, I appreciate that Golan's did not add to the confusion. In fact, they made the whole ordeal more manageable. I hired Golan's because I had used them in the past, and my previous experience told me they provided quality service. I am not sure about the exact price of their service, so the price above is an estimation. Even so, I thought the prices were fair.

Great customer service and responsiveness to set up the job. Movers were over 60 min late for pick-up and took 30 min longer to arrive at destination. Movers damaged the coffee table, a pain but well covered with extra insurance we purchased. The insurance company - a third party - has not yet resolved the issue nor refunded us for the damaged table - claim has been submitted over 60 days ago.

The movers arrive on time at 8 AM, had everything on the truck by 12:30 PM, and completed the move at 4 PM -- exactly eight hours. The dresser, bed, and dining room table were carefully wrapped. Some boxes got a little beat up, but nothing serious; the furniture all came through with no major damage. (The table suffered a small gouge on the underside while getting it through a narrow door on the way out, but the blemish is not visible when the table is in place and did not hurt the structural integrity.) Everything went very smoothly; I was extremely impressed -- this is probably the most efficient move I've ever been through.

The loading of items went well. The Chicago crew was professional and efficient, and we were very happy with this end of the process. The unloading in Maryland went very badly (different crew). The driver parked the truck in one spot, but then decided to move it closer to the apartment building. In the meantime, the other crew member had taken off the restraint belt on the items in the truck (I witnessed him do this), but apparently he did not tell the driver. As a result, when the truck was driven to the new location around the corner, many items (large pieces of furniture, stacks of boxes, etc.) fell over. When they opened the truck doors, furniture was literally falling out and boxes were smashed. The driver and his assistant were very unapologetic about this error and refused to sign anything saying that it had been their fault. They complained about the job (their moving job in general, how much they wished they were doing something else) the entire time, grumbling about having to check for missing box numbers and anything that delayed the unloading. This made an already unpleasant and frustrating move even worse. We submitted a claim for damages (early November) and got an external repair estimate for the damaged furniture (required by Golan's, costing us $75, which Golan's refused to reimburse us for). The estimate for the damage was $988 (remember we had paid for $20,000 worth of insurance). Golan's took 2 months to get back to us with approval for just $273, which we declined. Over the course of next several months I had to call them back every few weeks to check up on things and move things along. Each time I had to explain the entire story all over again, since each time there was a new employee on our "case" ("I'm sorry sir, X, Y, Z no longer work here..."). Mysteriously, people working in the Claims Department came and went very quickly. In late March, after many conversations and arguing about the issue, Golan's final offer was $500. They never accepted responsibility for their crew's mistake and constantly tried to weasel out of paying us for damages incurred through NEGLIGENCE (not even accidental). We will definitely NOT use them again, and will NOT recommend them to friends and family.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Golan's moving company. The initial phone call to arrange the move up to the actual move was painless. The movers were on time and the move went smoothly. I would recommend them to everyone.

The team was great. They were on-time and efficient. Some of the furniture was VERY heavy but they worked well as a team and negotiated multiple sets of stairs. Nothing was damaged.

My experience was a nightmare. John Beric took my order and completely represented the window of time it would take to deliver it to New York. I was guaranteed deliver by April 16th - 2 FULL weeks and they couldn't even meet that. I did not receive my stuff until April 21st. 2.5 weeks after keeping my stuff in their warehouse, they had the nerve to call me and tell me they were up-charging me. I was completely helpless, living in New York for 2 weeks without my belongings and they knew that. Jacob, the long distance manager was impossible to work with and took no accountability for their incompetence. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They are complete frauds and might keep your stuff for weeks, leaving you helpless.

They were great. The pricing was awesome, and the guys were very good, efficient, fast, did a nice job with boxing and prepping. Same thing on the back end. All and all it was great.

We used them 3 times in the same move. They did a good job.

Overall, workers were conscientious, polite and careful. However, because no one came out to physically give me an estimate, and all plans were made by phone, the truck sent was probably too small for the job, and a second truck would have made the job go faster and at a lower cost. Probably an hour or more was spent repacking the truck to get everything on. In the end, lawn and garden furniture had to be strapped to the back of the truck. Because the driver mentioned that this could be a traffic violation, and that we would be responsible for any citations, I had to call the office and verify that transporting the goods this way was ok. In retrospect, I should have insisted that an estimator come out to see our furnishings, even though the person I spoke with did not offer to do so. We provided the workers with water and snacks, and they seemed most appreciative. Total move took about 13 hours including travel and lunch.

It went pretty well. Team was nice and quick. However, they tracked salt and snow into the condo building despite asking them to focus on "cleanliness and safety" of items repeatedly. Also a few things were damaged.

Okay, but some disappointments. The packing was negligent, and the unloading on the other side was sloppy at best. There was damage, and they did not take responsibility.
