Golan's Moving & Storage Inc

The packers showed up on time. We observed the packing for a while then we left them to do their thing. They packed very quickly. The next morning they showed up to move everything into storage. Three weeks later they made the first delivery of boxes from their storage. We started to unload them. The boxes were labeled very generically. All they said was living room, dining room etc.. There was nothing noting pot/pan/dishes. That made the unpacking much more difficult. There were many cabinets that just looked like they were dumped into boxes. Cereal and pasta boxes were upside down and open with pasta spilled in the boxes. Cans of veggies were strewn about the boxes. We had a coffee maker that has a water resevoir. We forgot to empty it, and it got packed with water in it. We had a garbage can that was half full. I would not have expected them to empty it, but I woudl have expected them to set it aside. They did not. It got shrinked wrapped and stored for three weeks. It was pretty nasty when we opened it. We did not buy their insurance. I purchased a rider from our insurance company which had much better coverage and was much cheaper. Mistake. Our kitchen table and patio furniture got damaged and since I did not purchase their insurance, it will not get fixed. My insurance covered a traffic accident. I wrongly assumed that they would cover any damage that they caused. We emptied every box and found that we were missing our entire cutlery drawer. I was able to contact the folks that bought our place and they had it so I had to go back and get it from them. The actual movers did a good job. They were prompt and worked hard.

Overall, it went very well. I will give them A across the board. They were on time, and they were professional. I will use them in the future.

When they moved me into my new apartment they unpacked all of the big items that had been wrapped up. Overall, I felt they were on time (actually a day earlier which was great) and they were very timely as well. Would definitely reccomend them and would use them again in the future.

The movers were really friendly and courteous. They were respectful of our belongings. They were also very efficient; they seemed to be in and out. Their pricing was reasonable.

Golan's team showed up with 2 trucks. The price was $179 per hour for the 2 trucks and 5 guys. Here is the summary. I have moved over 16 times in my life - NO joke they have the most professional hard working guys. They not only took good care of my furniture but it was the 1st time ever I had a move with NOTHING Broken. God bless Golan's and the $100 tip I gave each worker!

Very nice until I was asked to give a $300 tip for an $800 job. The lead mover said that was standard. I was so tired I did not even argue. Is this normal?

They have set the bar for what I expect with moving. The second time was a complicated move since we were sending some items to one part of the country and others to another part. They only sent one item to the wrong place. As far as im concerned only sending one item to the wrong place is a 98 out of 100. This was something I overlooked as well when helping direct the move. They are so fast that you end up saving a lot of money and time.

The crew showed up on time, with the right equipment. They billed me the prices quoted over the phone when I made the reservation. The move went quickly and smoothly.

Professional, punctual, efficient. Great customer service from contacting them for initial estimate, thru securing street permit for move, confirming the move, responding to a couple questions by email, and thru the actual move day. Would definitely use again.

They are efficient, they are responsive, and we had a positive experience with them. Our last move was difficult because some things were going to storage and other things were going to a separate location, but they did a very good job with it.

I have used them many times and they are beyond efficient and hardworking. They send a lot of people to pack the things up. They get work done fast and very efficiently and nothing is damaged or broken. We have a very large house and a lot of heavy things to pack, but everything was perfect with them. They are not the cheapest but they are the best. They have a nationwide moving service. We had used them earlier for local moving services and this is the first time that we used them for long-distance moving. All the trucks are theirs and they have their own people along the way, so they don't hire different people in different cities to unload you and they can track all your stuff. Their price is reasonable. Their systems were great and they documented everything that they were moving. They were so polite and nice and hardworking. They were superb and I just love them. They are fantastic movers and just great. I would never use anybody else for moving except them.

It wasn't a long distance move. They did a super job estimating. The job cost what they said it was going to cost. They came in a little bit under. They were prompt and careful. They sent an adequate number of people. When they unpacked they stacked boxes really high and I am fairly short so it was hard for me to get at the boxes to start unpacking. I didn't tell them and it was one of those things that looked okay to them but not to me but I didn't really acknowledge it to them. This is the second time I've used them. I would definitely contact them for another estimate and I would probably use them again.

They covered the estimate, supplied all packing materials. We packed ourselves except for specialty items like artwork and lamps which they packed the day of the move out. Three men loaded all boxes and furniture in to truck. Each item was numbered and logged for storage. Two months later we scheduled the move in day. Everything was in perfect condition you could not tell it had been stored for 2 months. The same foreman was there for the move out and move in so it was great to work with a familiar face and since he had disassembled the furniture he knew how to put it back together. Completely smooth and easy to work with. The team at the office had good communication with us and with the crew. Overall very pleased. It is a little pricy but the same cost covered much less at other big name moving companies. Here you knew who you were working with and the quality of service was worth the price.

It was an amazing experience. The pre-pack was a brilliant suggestion; it made the actual move day go very smoothly. The crews worked steadily and competently. They took care of our things as if they were their own. While we hope to stay put in the new house for a long time, we would use Golan's again in a heartbeat.

At first they came in to say that the angie's list discount was just for materials used such as tape, shrink wrap, etc. I said that was not what I was told on the phone and had to call the superivsor to clear up this misunderstanding so that the discount was applied to the entire job. By the way, they give you free boxes for being an angie's list member but we didn't need the boxes and asked for the comparable discount instead (60.00). We did end up getting it. They were slow. They came in with the wardrobe boxes unassembled and then took time in our home to assemble them. They had no idea where they were going to the next stops and got lost following me. This added 1/2 hour to our time which we had to pay for. I had a hard time understanding the man in charge. The workers were nice and helpful and nothing was damaged but their services were just fair. I hate to compare but if you're looking for a really good mover no company compares to Raffee movers. They're the best.

They were very responsive to calls, e-mails, etc., and were very prompt and worked fast when they were 'on the clock.' Nothing got lost or damaged that I'm aware of, and they were very nice to work with. Four guys came on the morning of the move, and my mother couldn't believe how fast and efficiently they worked. We would definitely use them again....she felt that the price for everything (including storage of the things for Nashville) was very fair, and competitive with other moving companies. Highly recommend.

They were really great. They had a three guy team and worked quickly. I was very pleased with their service.

Overall it was a very good experience. They were prompt, courteous and professional. The downsides are that they try to charge a 2.5% surcharge if you use a credit card. However, I got them to waive the charge. Also, the original estimate was whited out and a higher amount was written in. However, when the lead mover in Norwalk called into the main office they quickly corrected the mistake and I only paid the original estimate without further hassle. I would recommend Golan's.

I was dreading hiring movers because I've heard horror stories. Golan's was exceptional from start to finish. The representative who handled our business (giving estimates, educating us on the process, scheduling/coordinating, etc.) was extremely responsive and professional. Securing parking in front of our building was very complicated (dealing with the city and then the alderman's office), but our account rep handled it all for us. We had packed all our belongings in boxes (except clothing, since they brought wardrobe boxes). On moving day, they showed up right on time and immediately began work. Four guys were carrying massive boxes down four flights faster than I could believe. What I thought would take a couple of hours only took 30 minutes. In no time the boxes were gone and they turned their attention to wrapping our furniture, artwork, and other awkward-to-move items. The care and attention to detail they took was impressive. I was very worried about our leather furniture, a huge armoire, but they packed/padded everything so thoroughly it appeared indestructible. Before I could knew it we were en route to the suburbs, where they unloaded everything just as quickly and carefully. Everything found its way to the correct location in the house, and they did an excellent job setting up any furniture they had partially deconstructed (e.g. beds, a desk, etc.). These guys deserved every penny we paid them (and then some). Highly recommended. Certain times of the month are priced differently than others (probably relative to typical lease expirations) - be sure to inquire and take advantage if possible.

Excellent. The crew was very polite, helpful and professional. They worked extremely fast and hard. The total job came in under budget including a very nice tip.

It went very well. They have excellent service and are very efficent. They took care of everything they moved and I would highly reccommend them.

They did a great job on moving my furniture but I wasn't happy with their piano move. They were two guys and they struggled a lot to move the piano. There were small damages on the piano but I didn't make an issue out of it because it was an auction cheap piano. I wasn't satisfied with their piano moving. Their price was neither the highest nor the lowest. The work had to be done pretty quickly and they were very fast.
