Chi Renovation & Design

The renovation took about 3 weeks from demolition to finish product. We did not change our cabinets, just repainted and changed hardware through a different vendor but our contractor Ron worked very closely with them. Ron made sure all the timings worked out with sub-contractors like the painters, electrician and appliance deliveries. There was a small hiccup with a delay with the floors since the vendor had those on back order, but Ron was on top of it and worked hard to get it done in a timely manner. When we upgraded our light fixtures in the kitchen we decided to upgrade our light fixture in our dining room and Ron was very accommodating in getting that done too. Ron was on sight when the appliances were delivered to make sure there were no issues. It was a great pleasure working with Ron and Chi Renovation and I would highly recommend their services.

Chi Renovation did an outstanding job on my bathroom remodel. I have a very small bathroom and because of my experience with contractors (all bad) I assumed this job would drag out because it was a small job. That was not the case at all. When Chi Reno came out to do the quote they had great suggestions on what I could do to achieve what I was looking for while also taking a practical approach. The designer worked with me and we came up with a great design. All the while, it was very low pressure. Never did I get the feeling that there was an up sale going on. With regards to the job itself, my only request was that once started, they devote the resources to get the job done in the allotted time. Chi Renovations came through on this wonderfully. The crew was awesome and professional. They finished the job ahead of schedule. Chi Renovation was not the cheapest quote I received but I can’t imagine another company providing better service and results. I would recommend Chi Renovations if you want the job done right.

The service provided by ChiR was amazing. This is not our first renovation and as such we anticipated there would be moments when glitches occur. So of course there were a few but what is especially amazing about ChiR and our project manager Lior, was the prompt attention to resolving the issues no matter how small in order to assure that our outcome was the dream kitchen we had been hoping and planning for. As a result our kitchen is exactly what we envisioned and the process was as good as any renovation project can be. The workers and project manager were prompt, clean, considerate AND attentive to issues like our pets being in the house and our own work and life schedules. The quality of the work is also worthy of mention. We had originally explored the more moderately priced cabinetry but ended with moving up in our choice to a higher end cabinetry and we are so happy with the results. We also really appreciated the supply vendors/distributors that ChiR uses and the lower prices that they are able to pass onto the client. This helps give you what you want but at a cost that is much more reasonable than other builders might offer. The tile workers were also amazing and attended to small details I would have never seen. Overall it was a fairly painless process and I will plan on using ChiR for any of our future house issues.

The Chi Renovation team was fantastic! The designer (Ryan), the project manager (Eric) and the installer (Derek) - all of them were very responsive, helpful, brought options and ideas for different parts of the projects and did an amazing job in a short time. They even managed to squeeze us in within a tight timeline and finished everything 2 days before the deadline. We LOVE our basement bathroom, as do all our guests! Would highly recommend and will definitely call them again for other bathroom projects in our house!

Tom and Victoria came for a sight visit and gave us ideas that we had not even considered. They spent a long time with my wife and I and then took more time taking measurements and talking together about the project. Before leaving they spend even more time answering our questions. We read lots of positive reviews and looked at the photos of their work. Everything was impressive. The only issue on our end was we could not budget for their proposal. They even came back with suggestions on how to save some money but it meant compromising the integrity of their work. We are exploring other options and may end up scrapping the idea all together. This was a really hard decision since we really liked our initial conversations and their ideas.

From the moment we called Chi Renovation was very professional and accommodating. Lior was our project manager and he worked with us and provided us with many great suggestions as far as where to find finished product and giving us input on design ideas. The crew assigned to our project was first rate. Clean, friendly and always consulting us when there was a question and never getting upset with our many questions and mid project changes. The tile work was perfect. They were a delight and would request them again when we do our other bathrooms. Our only issue was with the installer of our Glass shower door. He was the very last item to finish and he was rather careless and indifferent as to where he was putting his tools and managed to scratch our new sink counter top quite a bit. I mentioned/showed it to Lior and in the future I would request he would not return for on any shower doors we have installed The end result exceeded our wildest expectations.

I had Chi Renovation remodel my master bathroom, and they did a fantastic job. Nicole, the designer on my project, came up with a beautiful concept and was responsive to any changes or comments I had to the design. Eric and his team took care of the construction, and they did a great job. The team showed up every morning promptly at 8 and were often hard at work until 5 or 6 in the evening. There were a few hiccups along the way, but they took care of everything. They even repaired a hole in my kitchen that a plumber had left on another project. The work they did is beautiful, and I would recommend them to anyone.

We used Chi Renovations & Design for our Kitchen remodel and was very pleased with the final results. Our designer (Nicole) was able to get us a 3D rendering of our vision during the very beginning of our design phase and it looked awesome! The subsequent design meetings were pleasant and fun. Once construction started, we had a great relationship with our project manager (Eric) and the subcontractors (Ceddo and Rene). We would HIGHLY recommend the subcontractors that we had through Chi Renovation & Design! Throughout production, the contractors were always courteous and on time. They took the design to heart and made sure everything turned out exactly like the drawings from our designer! The only one disappointment we had with our kitchen renovation project was with the cabinet company, Bellmont Cabinets. There is no showroom to see the actual product and their website apparently had wrong information when it comes to material selection. In addition, once we ordered and paid 100% of our cabinets, we had to wait 13 weeks before they arrived when we were promised 6-8 weeks of production. And there was no explanation as to what happened to production. Regardless, now that our kitchen is completed, we are very happy with the end result. We would recommend Chi Renovations & Design for their awesome and professional team! The design fits our lifestyle completely and everybody in the family is enjoying the wonderful space we now have!

The initial consultation with the designer went well, he seemed to understand our vision for the space (renovating a 1960s gut-job kitchen) and was prompt with providing initial mock-ups and design ideas. First meeting occurred on 9/15 and Chi Renovation stated the project would be completed by Thanksgiving. It was finished in the second week of February, almost 3 months after the completion date. Once work began, things seemed to go poorly. There was a lot of electrical/plumbing work that needed to be completed, but nothing was scheduled well- for example, designer (who was also the general contractor) waited until the electrical was completed before even calling the plumber to schedule service, which left significant lag time between services. There was a ceiling fan in the kitchen that needed to be removed and instead of removing it properly, a component of the fan was pushed up through the ceiling and punctured newly installed carpeting above. When we found this and informed the designer he stated "these things happen" and never paid for the cost of repairing the carpet. The designer called one day to say that they were having trouble finding enough of the flooring we selected for the project and advised that I call the store to locate more, said he "didn't have time to do it." We spent multiple hours locating flooring and arranging for it to be shipped to the chain's local store, the designer did not take responsibility. In the process of moving trash out of the house, they left our back storm door open (we had specifically asked them to make sure it was secure) and it was shattered by wind. They did not clean it up, we had to. The designer waited weeks to move the trash (old kitchen cabinets, flooring, etc) from our back patio because it "wasn't convenient for him to do it sooner." When the project was finished our yard was littered with nails, pieces of wood, soda cans and take out containers. We were not living in the home during the project. The plumber came to work on the kitchen plumbing (was sub-contracted by Chi) and in the process backed up all of the drains (shower, sink and toilets) in the home. He left without telling anyone. The designer was supposed to follow up on the work and did not, leaving sewage sitting in all of our drains for four days while we were out of town. When we told him what happened when we returned home, he stated "these things happen." The designer did not take initiative. We had to call him daily to see what the plan was for that day, what was the next thing to happen, what needed to be ordered/scheduled, otherwise days would go without us hearing from him. At the end of the project there were many small things left unfinished- nail holes not filled in, incomplete dry wall around the ceiling lighting, a broken cabinet, unaligned molding and marked walls. All of these had to be brought to designer's attention to fix, which he then did. Our disappointment with the project was expressed to the designer and he showed no remorse and did not apologize for anything. An office manager from the company came to our home when they were photographing the kitchen and she did apologize for our poor experience. It has been 15 months since the project was finished and about 25% of the grout in our tile backsplash has cracked. I plan on calling to see if they will repair this, but I'm not hopeful. The quality of the work was A-, but the experience was horrible. We hired a company so that the burden of coordinating services and scheduling deliveries would not be ours, but it still was. We did not get the service we paid for and instead spent a significant amount of time during our work days doing the work of the designer.

We moved into our house 4 years ago and knew we'd need to renovate our kitchen. It had last been renovated 30 or so years ago and even at that point, the cabinets were simply refaced using new fronts but with the original cabinets from 1960 behind. We interviewed several companies (at least 5-6) and actually almost went with another one, but once we met with the designer from Chi we knew this was the right company to go with. We immediately liked the designer that we worked with. She seemed to get what we wanted and our style right away and she had some great ideas for how to organize a challenging space (we have a very long and narrow kitchen). She made some great choices with reclaimed wood shelves and hardwood floors and made it so that this fit within our budget. Both my husband and I work long hours, and she was very accommodating of our difficult schedules and was good at keeping us on task and making timely decisions. Once we got to the actual construction phase, our project manager was very available and helpful with any concerns we had, or coordinating contractors. The construction got done much more quickly than we anticipated, as we had heard several horror stories from friends and family that these types of projects can drag on endlessly - that didn't happen to us at all, so I guess we chose the right company! Everyone across the board was a joy to work with and really we can't speak highly enough of them. We'd use Chi Renovation again in a heartbeat, and likely will because we have plenty of other rooms to renovate.

I think the lady's name is Julie and she was very nice and helpful. She responded to my message through Angie's List within maybe a half hour. They were a company that would do all new projects and we were just doing a small partial remodel. She was so lovely about it. She gave me three good referrals which I looked at. She responded a lot more positively than I thought. I got a good vibe from them even though I did not go with them. It was a good experience because she wrote back to me and called me back. If an Angie's List member has a bigger kitchen remodeling project I think this company would really see it through. They gave us a very clear description of what their specialties are.

The designer was knowledgeable, flexible, responsive, and open to creating a unique environment for/with me. All around great service and high quality. They made a major remodeling project fun! Absolutely beautiful!

We just had both bathrooms renovated in our 80 year old house and we couldn't be happier with the work Chi Renovation did. We met with the designer a few times and she gave us some great suggestions on tubs, hardware and countertops and even met us at the tile store to pick out tile. Once everything was ordered and delivered, we met with the designer and project manager to discuss timing and how the job would progress. The construction manager pulled the permits and met several times with the Village inspectors to make sure they were satisfied. The bathroom remodeler started the day after New Years and worked non-stop, including several Saturdays. The work was done within a month and everything looks great. All the ancient plumbing and plaster was fixed, he figured out an inventive way to move an old heating duct that was located on a shower wall and really went above and beyond in making sure everything was done right. We would highly recommend Chi Renovation. We just wish we would've done this years ago!

I couldn’t be happier with the results. They did a fantastic job. The process was relatively painless from start to finish, starting with the sales and design process (not pushy at all) straight through to project completion. It was incredibly easy to work with both my Designer (Larry) and Project Manager (Tom) – they were both responsive and thorough. In addition, the whole team was very professional and respectful of my home. I would highly recommend Chi Renovation to anyone thinking of a home renovation project.

We asked Chi Renovation & Design to build a custom built in office for us, and couldn't be happier with the result. Unlike some of the other companies we interviewed, the designer was extremely responsive throughout the bidding process and, once selected, he was very helpful in coming up with ideas and delivered a plan that matched the current look of our house. Working with the project manager was a pleasure, and he delivered the final product in the promised timeframe. The craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. We couldn't be happier with our built in, and plan on recommending Chi Renovation & Design to our friends.

Chi Renovation & Design just finished our master bathroom and bedroom remodel and we couldn't be happier with the results! Nicole, our designer, immediately picked up on our design preferences and tracked down unique pieces for our space. Everyone we worked with was super dedicated and the project flew by once it started. The results are better than we expected!

We are thrilled with our remodeled kitchen that Larry Lambert and Tom Tishbey of Chi-Renovation designed and constructed! The team from Chi-Renovation were excellent to work with throughout the project. Larry and Tom explained in full detail the remodeling process and listened carefully to what we wanted in the new kitchen, our timeframe, and our budget. Their team members were punctual, conscientious, and careful to leave our condo in good order at the end of every working day. The cabinets and the roll-out shelves that were installed have given us more space with better organization than we had before. Chi-Renovation's granite and appliances contacts were very good to work with too. Everything with our kitchen remodel came together on time and on budget and we couldn't be more satisfied. I hired Chi Renovations to finish my basement. I didn't shop around, but their price seemed reasonable and the reviews were good so I hired them. From the initial estimate, to design, to getting all the necessary approvals, and then the building / finishing process, Chi took charge through the entire process. I was always able to reach the project manager for any questions, I even called him while he was on vacation (by accident) and he responded to my needs. A few issues did come up as is expected in a project this size but everything quickly got addressed. I'm extremely satisfied with my finished basement. The workmanship is truly excellent, and every crew (and there were a LOT of crews for this project) that showed up was polite, did good work, and cleaned up after themselves well. I will hire Chi again for future renovations without hesitation.

We had Chi Renovation update our kitchen including new laminate counter-tops, new sink and disposal, new range hood and vent, new backsplash, and painting. Overall we were quite pleased with the quality and price. We would definitely use Chi Renovation again. One of the reasons that we chose Chi Renovation is that they were one of the few companies that would install laminate counter-tops, which is what we prefer over granite, quartz, etc. In addition, they were willing to work with us to work out a few details that other contractors wanted to avoid or would not take on in our older house, and several contractors were unwilling to work with us because we did not want to do a complete gut and remodel of the kitchen. We just wanted an update, since we did a major remodel about 20 years ago. Chi was willing to work with us. In preparation for the project, we purchased many of the items ourselves (sink, backsplash tiles, range hood, disposal) and Chi installed them. Chi handled getting the counter-tops. The project took 3-4 days in a row. The workers were careful about cleaning up after themselves and removing junk each day, and the quality of the work was very good. The counter-tops look great. The back-splash is beautiful and nicely installed by Chi. The biggest problem with the project was waiting for the counter-tops from the supplier, which was not Chi?s fault at all. Then there was a second wait for a replacement counter-top that was incorrect?again, not Chi?s fault. Chi returned to finish up the project after the replacement counter-top was available and to take care of a short punch list, which took another day of work. The workers were polite, respectful, and careful, as was the project manager. A couple of minor issues came up?the garbage disposer was not properly connected to the dishwasher (I took care of it myself) and there is a slight nick in one of the countertops that could have been avoided (which we didn?t bother with because it was so trivial). That said, I am sure that Chi would have fixed these minor items if we had asked, but we didn?t bother. Overall we were quite impressed by Chi?s reasonable price, responsiveness, quality, and service. We highly recommend them and would use them again for other remodeling projects.

FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS A BREEZE. MY WIFE AND I ARE RETIRED AND WANTED A NEW LOOK TO THE KITCHEN. WE CALLED THEM UP AND SCHEDULED A MEETING. WE HAD TO LOOK UP SOME IDEAS TO SHOW THE PERSON THAT WAS COMING, WHICH MY WIFE ENJOYED. AFTER THE MEETING WE CAME UP WITH SOME IDEAS AND THEY STARTED THE WORK SOON THEREAFTER. WITHIN 3 MONTHS WE HAD A NICE LOOKING KITCHEN THAT WE CANNOT GET ENOUGH COMPLIMENTS ABOUT. EVERYONE WHO COMES OVER RAVES ABOUT IT. MY ENJOYS THE MANY DIFFERENT COMPARTMENTS IN THE CABINETS, NOW SHE HAS PLACES TO PUT HER SPICES AND SUCH... WE WILL DEFINITELY BE REFERRING THEM TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP WITH RENOVATING THEIR HOME.

Good quality thoughtful plans. We are considering using the design with small tweaks.

This is a big deal purchase. That was a good price. For what I paid for they could not have done anything differently. There was a little bit of a delay.

He was polite and friendly, a couple of days late on the delivery of the plans, which is apparently the norm in the business. But they were not quite what we discussed, it felt like what I wanted wasn't really taken into consideration. However Chi Renovations has promised a redesign, and I very much appreciate their attentiveness

Went well. Would consider using for renovation. Decided to delay remodeling project, so work has not been done yet.
