Artista Professional Painters

The original quote was for $8500. They started painting and said there was going to be 4 guys. Some days there were only one to two painters. They fell way behind on what was supposed to be a two week job. We were upcharged $2500 because we were told there would need to be 4 coats of paint. They were supposed to finish up painting and I paid in full already. They took the check, cashed it, and never came back. The job was left partially done with the stairwell area; (including the stairs, wall and ceiling going to the lower level) incomplete, as well as all touch ups. I ended up having to get another crew to finish the job. We called him to come back out to finish the job which he refused to do unless we paid him more money. When the new painter came he was looking for the previous paint cans to get started. We had requested all paints be green with a low VOC and were told by the new crew that what he had been using was actually exterior paint. They used this paint on the wainscotting, the window trim, and the stair trim and it was confirmed that this was the paint he'd used.

.Job went extremely well. Eduardo was very punctual. He's a perfectionist. I couldn't have asked for a better job.

Painted a 25 year old armoire that was oak…yellowish color. I wanted it a much lighter, white base but wanted the grain of the wood to show through. Benjamin Moore specialist said that it couldn't be done and suggested painting it, then using a distressed finish. Eduardo experimented with it and achieved the exact look that I wanted! Paint living and dining rooms in gray as well as all of the wood trim in white. Crew was on time and completed the work in 2 1/2 days. I have used Artista multiple times and have never been disappointed. Crew is always on time and does a flawless job.

I had worked with Eduardo before through a designer and had been happy with his work, so I did not hesitate to hire him to repaint several areas of the house, including a girl's bedroom, two bathrooms and a stairwell. He has an excellent color sense and is helpful in choosing colors. He pushed back the start date but communicated about it, so that was fine. He decided to bring in extra help to finish the job in less time than we had scheduled, so on the second day of work, they finished late in the day and I was rushed in doing a walk-through. Eduardo assured me that he would take care of any touch-ups or subsequent problems. The painting itself was very good, but once I had a chance to look at everything, I realized that a wall shelf they had taken down and reinstalled in my daughter's room had been put up incorrectly and was in danger of falling off the wall. I removed it so that it wouldn't hurt anyone. The screws were buckling in the wall and the shelf could not be attached correctly to the screws. I also found that two towel holders in the master bathroom were transposed (they're different styles) and installed in the wrong positions, despite assurances from Eduardo that they would photograph everything and put it back the way it was. One was also loose. I have tried to contact Eduardo several times, but it's now been more than three months and he has not fixed the problems and he has not responded to my messages, leaving me with a shelf on the floor of my daughter's bedroom and a mess on the wall, and towel holders that are not usable. I realize that these may seem like minor issues, but it's frustrating to not be able to use them on a daily basis. Up until he left on Day 2 of the paint job with full payment, Eduardo was responsive and communicative. Since then, he has been disappointingly scarce and unresponsive. I followed up with him to let him know about the problems via several emails and calls. In August he called to say he was out of town but would absolutely take care of the issues upon his return. Nothing. I followed up again via emails and phone. I reached him in mid-September and he said he would call the following Monday to let me know when he would stop by that week to fix the problems. The day came and went. The week came and went. He has not responded to either my voicemail or emails. Given that Artista charges high-end prices, I expected high-end service. It's not right that I should have to pay someone else to fix these problems when they were part of the job I contracted for and paid for in full. Despite the quality of the painting itself, this experience with Artista has been an enormous disappointment and I would not recommend them.

I have used Eduardo before, and am always please with him superior attention to detail. He arrived on schedule at 730am. He discovered 2 window frames that needed to be replaced. I called a contractor to do the wood replacement. Eduardo came back after the wood was replaced and completed the job. Not always the and quot;cheapestand quot; estimate....but always a perfect job from start to finish!

Eduardo and crew showed up each morning at 7am. Work was much more than we expected since the previous painter did not prime. Additionally, we found water damage. Had to do more sanding and prep work than expected. I've referred Eduardo to a number of friends...and they have never been disappointed. His estimates are not the cheapest, but his work is the best. I wouldn't trust my painting to anyone else.

Amazing: Eduardo's pricing is not the cheapest, but his work is the best. On time and accomodating. The best experience I've ever had with a professional painter. I have a 3 story home. He primed and painted all of the trim around the windows and doors. The back deck was washed, sanded and stained. When the gang started painting the deck, I realized that I did not like the color that I had picked. Eduardo stopped the work, brought me a new color chart, and helped me pick out a different color. Workers returned the following day to complete the job.
