I don’t know if they’re under new management, but it’s definitely not the same company it used to be. We’ve been customers of R&R for over 20 years. A few years ago we had septic draining issues. They came out and fixed the problem.... temporarily as it turns out. This year we started having the same issues again. It took us 3 calls to finally get a call back, and they said they’d come out and diagnose the problem for $500 ($250 ahead of time) even though a few years ago we paid them thousands to fix it. They finally came out today (about 7 weeks later). After digging up our boxes, they said they couldn’t fix the problem, we still owed them the other $250, and all they could do is what they did last time for $2300 (which obviously didn’t work). My husband said no thanks, but still had to pay the remaining $250 ($500 total). He immediately called another company that said they knew exactly what the problem was and they could fix it for a fraction of what R&R was going to charge to NOT fix it. Plus they’ll be out tomorrow, not 7 weeks from now. I basically wasted $500 on a wrong diagnosis and horrible customer service. Save your time and money and look elsewhere!

On 2/20/2006 our septic tank backed up into the house. We first called a company who arrived on 2/21 Their representative could not find our tank and told us they would have to come back in the Spring when the ground was not frozen. Obviously, this was unacceptable. We then received excellent service from R & R Septic & Sewer Service on 2/22. The representative they sent was much more knowledgeable than the previous company?s rep. The man told me a lot of people have their tanks pumped regularly instead of waiting for a problem. He at first suggested every 3 to 5 years. When I later said there were 5 people living in the house, he said maybe every 2 to 3 years. The tank was full to the top. He said it normally should stay below the level of the intake pipe. He gave me an elaborate explanation of what could be a bigger problem involving trees in our backyard. The rep said a pipe would go from the back of the tank about 10 feet to the first junction box, then something would ?T? off of that in each direction. There would be multiple junction boxes off of that from which the main parts of the field would run north. To whatever extent we wanted to dig up any of this, we might find other problems. I only mention all of this to illustrate how this gentleman went above and beyond what was required. Once the tank was partially pumped, at least to the point where the intake pipe was visible, then about 4 flushes of both toilets started everything flowing freely. We saved $50 off of our bill (which was then $195) because we located and uncovered the tank lid ourselves. The work the R & R person did included drawing a diagram when he was done to provide the location of the tank and lid. So the company knows where it is if they return.
Description of Work: Our septic tank had backed up into the house and needed pumping, which was done by R&R Septic and Sewer.
