Description of Work: Global Home Improvement came in and saved the day when our previous contractor fell through in the middle of the complete renovation of our 1896 home. Stanley finished everything from walls, stairs, a full bathroom, the majority of our kitchen, floor resurfacing, electric, and custom shelving and benches. Stanley is communicative and reliable and got us on track to finish our house in good time. Their workers were prompt, hardworking, trustworthy, and friendly and the custom and finish work was done with a craftsman's touch, making everything look just as we had designed it. When inevitable construction hurdles presented, they were creative in problem solving and perfecting their work. We plan to use Global Home Improvement again soon to renovate our basement and eventually our attic. Please view the few pictures below to see just some of the great work that was done.

Description of Work: Global Home Improvement replaced our one-piece fiberglass shower with a tiled shower, including new base, rerouting floor plumbing, and installing new fixtures. The custom tile design involved cutting individual pieces and cutting mosaics. Daniel did an excellent job--he is a true craftsman and was a pleasure to deal with.

Description of Work: The Big Deal stated: $99 for 3 hours of kitchen & bathroom caulking and grout restoration. First, Stanislav had mine and another customer's appointment mixed up after I called him as he was late. So I waiting for him to come. Then, after about 20 minutes, he said he was done. I looked at the tub and one side had new caulk up the corner to where the tiles ended, but the other did not. He asked if I wanted that caulked too. I said yes, of course. I asked him what about the grout and he told me to go to Home Depot or somewhere to but my own grout cleaner. I asked about the 3 hours of restoration and he said he would usually charge a lot more and maybe I read the deal incorrectly. He did remove the old caulk and put in new but left old caulk residue on the floor and side of tub. I scrubbed the grout prior to him coming thinking this deal covers grout restoration. I did not expect he would tell me to do it myself. So $99 for 20 minutes and not that great of a caulk job? Not acceptable. I am not happy at all.

Description of Work: We recently purchased a home and needed some clean up in the master bathroom with the shower and tub. He replaced the grout in the shower. He also replaced the caulking around a bath tub and another shower. Stan was prompt, efficient, and professional with his work. We learned about his work from Angie's list, and I would recommend him based on the work he did for us.

Description of Work: Stanley knocked down two load bearing walls in our house and reframed them to make a breakfast bar and french door entrance. He also removed two soffits in our kitchen and put up drywall to blend with our plaster walls. He also assisted in contracting out an electrician to rewire and add new lighting throughout the kitchen. All work performed exceeded our expectations.

Description of Work: I purchased a "Big Deal" for $299.00. It was for a general contractor for a day. I called Global Home Improvements and told Mr. Klimes I needed a door and storm door installed. We agreed on a date for instal and it was finished that day and the only extra money I spent was on supplies to finish the job.

Description of Work: We had grout on our kitchen floor that was in need of repair. Several tiles nearly had no grout left between them. We saw a deal on Angie's list for grout repair by this company. We purchased the deal and within 5 days, we had called, scheduled and had the work completed.

Description of Work: Paid for 3 hours of Calk he came by I needed some tile work done and we agreed on a reasonable price. He fixed all the mistake of the previous person and did a great job. The tiles look great and the calk looks great also. Very honest reliable and trustworthy person to deal with A++++++++

Description of Work: Floor refinishing-great resultpainting-good resulttile work-great resultbasement refinishing-great resultchimney work-great/good result (have yet to have a fire so not entirely sure) Global Home Improvement has performed a number of services in my home to my satisfaction. I first contacted this company for floor refinishing. They did a beautiful job on the floor, as well as helped to transfer furniture to my garage and back. I could see that moving furniture is not really their craft, but nothing was damaged. Following the floor refinishing they re-painted the baseboards and wood trim as well as some walls. The wall painting was really good, but the wood trim left something to be desired. I would have liked to have seen more scraping of old peeling paint. Following this job I asked them to locate the source of water seepage in my basement. Stanley was able to quickly identify the source, and then honestly told me that was beyond his scope of expertise. I really appreciated the honesty on that point. I got in water-proofing experts and then let Stanley and his crew re-stud, drywall, paint, and re-carpet the basement. End result--clean and dry basement. He also re-tiled my laundry area and did a really great job with a nice, clean finish. The final big project GHI took on in my home was re-lining my chimney. Stanley really spent time looking for the correct cap for my particular chimney and completed the work cleanly. Throughout all of the time working in my home I often added little extra tasks such as changing light fixtures, switching out a dimmer, fixing a toilet, fixing closet doors. He was open to taking on any task and performed the tasks cheerfully and quickly. I found his team a pleasant crew to be around and they were not "overly present" in my home space. They did their job, asked questions when needed and I am happy with the work they have done in my house. He will take on jobs from small to large.

Description of Work: First time we hired Global Home Improvement about 4 years ago per our friend's advice; they painted entire home interior plus did some electrical work by replacing existing lighting fixtures with recessed ones. That's been a really pleasant encounter: they worked fast but accurate, diligently fixing existing flaws and patching walls and ceiling (including a very high cathedral ceiling in two-storied living room). I need to note that coloring scheme for the house was not very simple but they handled entire work extremely well. Our next project with Global Home Improvement was full remodeling of master and guest bathrooms on second floor. That project has just come to completion in September 2012. They removed all existing fixtures including both bathtubs, toilets, vanities, faucets, cabinets, lights etc and replaced those with new ones including plumbing, shower tray in guest bathroom and glass bathroom/shower doors. Plus, they installed ceramic tiles throughout on the walls and floor. They again worked hard but thorough and got the job done in less than 3 weeks.

Description of Work: Stanislav, (Stanli), is currently starting a third project for us. One year ago he completely refinished our basement with a full bathroom, laundry room, stone faced fireplace and new staircase. The work included electrical, drywall, flooring, plumbing and tile work. This project cost 25,000. It is absolutely beautiful. The second project was completed this Spring and it was a bathroom remodel of our master bathroom that included all new tile, plumbing, Whirlpool tub, and painting. We spent approx. 5,000. on this project. Stanli is responsive and positive about any problems encountered in remodeling an older home. He is always punctual and is frequently doing the work himself. He checks in often with us on the progress and he completes work in a timely fashion. Our third project with him will begin tomorrow: a porch roof and pergola with classical columns that will extend the entire length of the front of our home. We are looking forward to ! I highly recommend Stanli of Global Home Improvement. It is a pleasure to work with him and we have been very happy with all of the work he has done on our home.
