U.S. Waterproofing

We have had multiple problems. We had a manager come out and test the drain and tile and tell us what would be the most proper lay out. They put it in August of 2007 and we've had two heavy rains where we have had water only in the area that they put in the drain tile.

I was very impressed by this company when they came out to give estimates for the work in our basement. We went through several different changes in what we were going to do to solve the seepage problem we were having. They were very patient with us throughout the whole process, because we could not pinpoint exactly what the source of the seepage was, and kept finding new places where the water came in! Finally, we decided on the interior drain tiles on one section of the basement. They came out and did the work quickly, professionally and cleaned up after themselves. The sales reps were friendly and helpful and so were the field managers. After we had the one section of drain tiles installed, we had more seepage in a different part of the basement at a later date. Eegads! So, we called them back and determined it would be best to have the rest of the basement done. They came back and finished the rest of the basement and we haven't had a problem since. In fact, our sump pump saved the day when Chicago had all the bad flooding! The only downside is, because we had them come back a second time to do the rest of the drain tiles, we were charged a second set up charge, which amounted to $500 more than the original quote. But, that's understandable since we had to have them back so many times and it would've been easier to do the whole job in one day! Now we have a lifetime guarantee on the basement as long as we live there. That's peace of mind.

It went well, I had a good experience with them. They were reasonable, I got a discount because of the village I live in. Someone came out to inspect the work while they were working and afterwords.

All our needs were addressed & explained thoroughly by the U.S. Waterproofing rep. On the day of the initial visit for an estimate, we immediately went with out gut instinct and trusted U.S. Waterproofing to start and complete the work. The crew arrived on time - worked extremely hard to finish the job (including the clean-up) ....Professional, courteous & hard working and most of all a job well done ---- NO MORE SEEPAGE --(How great is that!!!) Considering the rain the Chgo area has had lately. Would we recommend U.S. Waterproofing?? "ABSOLUTELY" Would we use more tradesmen from Angies List?? "POSITIVELY"

I had water leaking from one of my window wells into the basement during a recent heavy rainfall. I had no idea where to turn for help, but joined Angie's List on a hunch that I might get some advice from an appropriate source. I called US Waterproofing and they came out three days later; the representative was on time, courteous, informative and very helpful. Unfortunately, it didn't appear to be a situation which could be repaired by US Waterproofing, but the representative did advise me to take other steps. As that made sense, I am, again, looking at Angie's List for other companies to call. I was so impressed with the positive comments made by numerous customers and that's why I called US Waterproofing. Even though they were not able to fix the problem themselves, I am convinced that I made the right decision by contacting them first.

Their pricing was very competitive and they were very good to work with. I thought they were very courteous and professional and I would recommend them to anyone.

The estimators, Shawn, was punctual, knowledgeable and very helpful. When the work was scheduled and workers were also punctual. My only complaint was how horrific the bonding agent smelled. When the work was scheduled I was told the smell could linger for 1-2 days. Our whole house smelled toxic for over a week--even with the windows open. If I had known I would have scheduled the waterproofing for some time when we could be out of the house.

They came out and gave us an estimate. We did not have many other estimates but had a great idea of how much it should cost to have fixed. We contacted another company but they couldn't come to give us an estimate for three weeks. We agreed to fix the three cracks using this company. Total cost 975. We were informed the day before there is a strong odor. The guys came in filled the cracks. The process leaves some spouts sticking out of the wall. We just recently had a huge rainstorm but our basement was dry. This process was highly effective and I have great confidence in their work.

They were prompt and worked with a very structured/tight schedule (on my end). They did a great job and left no mess behind. The only critique is that it took so long to get a quote from the sales guy (almost a month).

Their prices were very competitive and they were very clear about the work that they were doing. They were timely both in their arrival and with the work itself. We were very pleased and would gladly use them again.

The guy said that the work was out of their expertise and I really appreciated that he didn't try to get himself business and was honest with the fact that it was a problem they don't treat.

Crew was pleasant, efficient & cleaned up after themselves.

They were fabulous and they adjusted their schedule to fit mine and did good work and took good care of my house. They were professional and I would recommend them.

We had no problem booking the appointment for an estimate, which was Friday afternoon. The salesman called and asked if he could make it earlier, and we agreed. But he called another time or two, asking to make it earlier than we had said we would be available. My wife was a little fed up with that because we said we would not be home. In the end we didn't use them because their price was higher than their competitors, even though the warranty was better.

They were honest and reasonably priced. Shawn Sinnicum came out and gave us the estimate and we felt it was very reasonable.

I did get several bids and chose this company because they were able to schedule the work as soon as possible. They did give me an estimate, but it ended up to be a little more. They did an excellent job. I am rating this after all of the rain we have gotten this spring.

We were happy with the quick response and appointment setups. The work was done within a couple of weeks after we signed the contract. Everything appears to be fine. The workers did a few extra things that weren't in the contract. They took down some drywall, sealed the area where the foundation met the porch, and re-cemented the whole floor of the room.

We haven't had any leaking since. There was a little difficulty with the communication with their office but we are satisfied with the end product.

This is one disorganized group of people. I called to get an estimate for a foundation repair, they sent a water proofing salesman to my house. He was kind enough to set up another appointment with the appropriate group. That guy (Ken) called more that halfway through our appointment window to inform me that he, too, was unqualified to look at the basement. He assured me that he would get the right person, then call me back to set up a third appointment. Two weeks later, I still have not heard anything. They wasted four hours of my time waiting for people who were not qualified. I was very clear when I made the initial call. I needed a foundation repair. Ken even admitted that he had not looked at the job description until an hour after he should have been to my house.

They came out on time. I called them just to set up the exact hour that they would be at my home. They were there on the hour to fix the cracks in the basement.

The representative called to say he would be 15 minutes late. After 20 minutes after the original scheduled time, I called his cell but he did not answer. I called again after 25 minutes with no answer. Finally I called the company who told me to just wait and he would be there shortly. 40 minutes after the original scheduled time, he called to say he was 10 minutes away and was apologetic, but was at least 20 minutes away. I would not be as hard on this company if they did not boast a 98% on-time metric. 1 hour late is not acceptable since I scheduled and wasted my morning around this appointment.

Jerry came out on a Wednesday, gave an estimate and called for an appointment for the next Monday. When I called at 9:00am Monday to get an idea of what time the workmen were coming, the receptionist told me both workers called in absent that day and didn't know when I could get service or even reschedule. I told her I was taking in water and I have a finished carpeted basement. At noon I got a call from US Waterproofing, they were sending out 2 workmen around 1:30. They came, fixed the problem and cleaned up afterwards. I was very satisfied with the work and so happy they responded by sending out another crew the same day.

They were very professional. I have had work done with basement cracks before (no major company). The rep from US Waterproofing said that their technique is better and that it has a lifetime guarantee.

US Waterproofing did a great job and gave a good price. As of this point I have not had a strong rain storm but so far I didn't see any leaks.
