I absolutely recomend them to anyone who has to have their crawl or basement water proofed. they came out within two days of being called to give me an estimate and then came out two weeks later to do their preinstallation inspection. Then a week to two weeks later came out and did the installation. The amount of time it took I'm sure is because we had just had 8inches of rain the night before I called and they were probably very busy. I still felt they did the work in a very timely manner. The crew that came out was very hard workers who obviously took pride in their work. they cleaned up after themselves both days that it took to do the installation. So far we have not had any rain sense the system was installed but I now love how my crawl space looks, it was just bare dirt with a thin sheet of plastic that wasn't attached to anything. Also it no longer has a musty smell that comes up when the hatch is opened or the air conditioning is started up. I thank these guys for their hard and wonderful work.
Description of Work: 16 cracks in the foundation repaired, sump pump and interior drainage tile installed, and their comfort crawl system installed.

Don't call another company, only use U.S. Waterproffing.( they have a 5 year garentee on all of the work they do, and come out right away,no problem. They stand behind their work......... Joyce
Description of Work: I was getting see-page in the bassement, i called U.S. Waterproofing, they came out and gave a estimate of over $800.00. When they dug out some of the founditation they saw it was not that big of a job, (Bob Weitzman the estimator) found this out he lowered the price to $435.00. Again I was getting seep-age in the same area, a estimator came out today and found out it was in the same area but a different spot, the estimate is $295.00, I called Bob Weitzman and asked if they would lower it $50.00, he said he would call me back. This Company is the best and most reliable of all the company's I have had dealings with.(some of which on on this list)

There were multiple problems with the process and the system that US Waterproofing installed. Firstly, the technician was very green and didn't appear to know what he was doing. I got the sense he just graduated from pump installation school. Once the system was installed, the tech ran through a system test and asked me to witness it. He dumped water into the pump to test the trigger and pump system. Nothing happened. The water was almost to the top of the pit, and the pump still didn't turn on. Then the tech reached down into the pump shook the housing. The pump turned on after he moved it. He tried the test again and the same thing happened. This is a failed test. In spite of these results, he tried to convince me everything was fine. Unsatisfied with his response, I asked for someone more senior to come out. US Waterproofing refused to send anyone initially. After 15 minutes of objecting and eventually screaming at the customer "care" rep, I finally got to a supervisor who agreed to send out the senior expert on the system. When the expert arrived, he immediately noticed the pumps were not installed corrected. He fixed the problem and demonstrated a successful test. A few days later, we started hearing the high water alarm. According to the documentation, this is an indication of pump failure. I called US Waterproofing again to report the issue. Again, their customer service was a nightmare. The person who answered the phone identified herself as Sandy. Sandy told me she would take down my information and someone would call me back. This was on Monday. By Wed around 4 pm, I hadn't heard from anyone. So, I called again. This time, Sandy said he passed the information along, but she wasn't sure if anyone was going to call me back or not. W**? I asked repeatedly to speak with a supervisor. Sandy said there was no one available. I asked to speak to anyone who is in authority and again Sandy refused to transfer me or provide any assistance whatsoever. At this point, I am assuming the system is defective or is malfunctioning. Considering we have $30K worth of renovation work in our basement, this is not a trivial matter. I am planning to call another company to replace/repair the system and dispute the charges with my bank. (Update on 9/1/10) We recently uncovered a new issue with the system. Argh! Apparently, at least of one the float switches was failing intermittently. It noticed it because the high water alarm kept going off. I called US Waterproofing and they indicated they would send someone out at the next available slot. A day or two went by and I was getting nervous about our basement flooding. So, I called another plumber. They plumber checked a few things and noticed the faulty float switch. Now, I was very concerned that a catastrophic system failure was eminent. I went back to the main phone number for US Waterproofing. Most front line service reps have a hard time dealing with emergencies and US Waterproofing was no exception. Fortunately, I was able to escalate the issue to the owner. After inspiring him to take action, he moved some things around and got someone to my house, with parts ready to replace the switch. At my request, they replaced all 3 switches in the system and fully tested everything. In the end, US Waterproofing did the right thing and resolved the issue. Hopefully, this is the end the problems that we have had with the Boss 3000 system. In my opinion, there are two issues with US Waterproofing 1) they don't have enough experience and support infrastructure to handle more expensive systems like the Boss 3000 ($3000) and 2) their front line customer service reps are arrogant, unprofessional, uninformed and generally treat their customers like they are idiots. If you need an more robust sump pump system that is beyond what you can get from Home Depot, consider working with a good plumber who has experience with installation and maintenance of higher-end systems. If not convinced US Waterproofing is the best company for these situations. With respect to customer service, US Waterproofing needs to improve in the way in which they deal with these situations. The only way for me to get anything done over there was to scream and yell and threaten to write reports on Angie's List. That works if you can get to the owner, but it takes years off my life and is totally unnecessary. I would much prefer it if they would be more professional, more proactive and more respectful of their customers. It seems clear they have grown too big and haven't maintained good service quality at every level in the organization.

The estimator, Bob Weitzman, visiting our home, saw the cracks and gave us an estimate. He obtained a service date for us and created a diagram for the workmen so that they would know exactly where the repairs needed to be made. The workmen arrived exactly when scheduled, did the work in a workmanlike fashion and cleaned up after themselves. The work is neat and the cracks appear to be completely sealed.

Great experience. Steven, the sales guy, came out and diagnosed the situation and was very honest. We weren't pressured into buying something we didn't need, just what would solve our immediate problems (water coming in during heavy downpours). We didn't have biggest job, but experience with them was first rate. I would definitely recommend them to others looking to diagnose water issues in basements.

The person who came to diagnose the problem and give us the estimate was very knowledgeable and informative. The explanation of the work and the quote was clear. The person who did the repair showed up on time and worked quickly. I assume the results, sealing the cracks, will be fine but the work was really messy. I was busy with other activity and I didn't really inspect the work before he left. I called their office and they said I could scape off the excess, but have been told by other people not to do it. The bigger problem is the repair person talked me into sealing another crack which the first person had said didn't need it. Looking back, I wish I had not paid the extra amount.

I had water seeping into my crawl space everythime there is a heavy rain. I called only US Waterproofing because of the overwhelming positive reviews here at Angie's List so I didn't feel there was a need to call other contractors. although I found two back up contractors from the list just in case US Waterproofing didn't work out. Brad came out to estimate the work, explain the process, and schedule the repair. He was very professional. Mauro arrived on time for the repair. He was also very professional and explained everything he was doing plus he was very careful not to damage the rose nearby. He also walked around the house to inspect if there was additional cracks since having them repaired at the same time would be cost effective. Luckily for me, there was no additional crack.

I had a longstanding basement foundation crack with persistent seepage after heavy rains. The estimator arrived early(!), gave me a price on the spot and never tried to upsell. Even when I asked about other issues such as whether my existing sump pump was adequate, he said everything else was fine. The work was performed about a week later and there was a fortuitous big storm right afterward. There was still some slight seepage and when I called, they immediately scheduled a follow-up. After a minor touch-up on the repair everything seems fine so far.

Everything was great, from estimate, to follow-up site visit, to work done. Work involved a lot of digging (replacing 3 window well liners), and a lot of mud, but it went quickly and they left the yard spotless. Also had to core through the foundation to install drain system for window wells, and chip out cement to fix crack in foundation wall, but left the basement spotless afterward. We haven't had any heavy rain yet, but I'm confident the fixes they did will keep my basement dry for the first time in 10 years.

Very well - We discovered several cracks in our basement floor and seepage. Salesman came by on time and advised that he did not think that it was the drain tiles (which would have meant digging up the floor and replacing them = $$$$$) but that it was the sump pump not being able to keep up with the water coming into it. (The pump is only 5 years old; he said that they aren't really designed to last more than 9-10 and 5-8 is about the average depending on the amount of water the area gets. We didn't know that) We had wanted to put in a battery backup in for some time and now that we were actually starting to finish the basement we agreed to have them install one and adjust the old one if possible. The salesman told us that we could buy a similar pump at a Home Depot type place and install it ourselves for much less but, there's no warranty on a homeowner's work. Although Peter is quite comfortable with electronics, after he watched the serviceman install it he told me that it's not as easy as it looks and was happy to have paid the $ to have it done. As far as the cracks, the salesman said that if we wanted to seal them up with a basic concrete sealant after it completely dried, we could. There wasn't any repair that he would recommend beyond that; if the pump was the issue, the seepage would stop. After discussion about why the pump might be having problems, it came up that we didn't use to have a neighbor on the hill to the north of us. They dug a 4000 sq' basement last year and the drainage has definitely been compromised. This last winter the snow runoff was more than twice what it used to be. So we bought their top of the line pump. We're planning on building a berm this summer to try and redirect the water away from the house but the seepage was an immediate problem. If the berm doesn't work we'd rather have a heavy duty pump in there. The battery will run for 2+days. At the time the salesman was there, it didn't occur to any of us that (for the first time in 6 years) the GFI outlet might have tripped, which the serviceman discovered when he came out and tried to plug his equipment in. ! We don't know when it happened but once the melt water and rain started this spring, the water build up under the floor and cracked it. The serviceman was prompt, friendly and clean and all of our animals adored him (they usually aren't that interested in strangers.) The dogs came down and sat with him during the installation and the cats came by several times to check him out as well. :) It turned out that the type of pump we had wasn't adjustable; he cleaned the well out and put the new pump and battery in. He left the area far cleaner than he found it. Although we had not planned on paying this much, the 10% off Angie's List coupon helped

They were very professional and took care of everything. I would definintely recommend them. Anyone can do the work initially, but they took care of the customer afterward. That is the mark of a well run company.
Description of Work: We were having seepage coming in through the bottom of the basement walls during the exceptional rain when everyone else flooded also. US Waterproofing came out and installed drain tile around the inside perimiter of our basement and a sump pump. Because half of our basement was finished we had a lot of work to do before they were able to start, moving out furniture and carpeting etc. They were able to complete the entire job in one day which is amazing. The workers were very professional and did their best to keep the dust from invading the rest of the house. In hindsight my expectations of the mess left behind were too high. Considering the amount of work they did, jackhammering out the perimiter of the floor and excavating down a couple feet, it was cleaned up very well. That said it did take us a long time to clean up all the dust and dirt. In the spring we had a very heavy rain and we got water in over the top of the foundation where the framing sits on the concrete at the spot where the sump drain line goes out of the house into the yard. Then they dug the drain line in the yard they had left some of the dirt piled up next to the house and this pushed the water in over the top of the foundation. Once the water subsided outside it went away. I called them the next day and they had someone come out and dig out the spot in question and seal the foundation and framing, and also put some absorbant material in the area under the soil to help keep the foundation dry. They did all this at no charge without me having to put up a fight with them.

They came out and did the work. A few months after they finished the work I was smelling electrical smoke. When I looked into it, I realized that the sump pump was spraying water on the battery. The battery was waterproofed but the electrical outlet was obviously not. Enough water had actually gotten in there for it to start smoking and melted the plug. I called them about this situation. They sent someone out the very next day and he came out and he knew what he was going. He replaced almost everything. He installed a new battery higher than the other one had been installed so that the water would not be able to reach it. They were also able to fix the pump so that it won't spray out water anymore.

Over the years they have done several jobs for me like patching the walls, changing the downspouts, etc. I had a leak from one place where they had patched from the exterior. After 2 years I had a leak from the same place so I called them. They came out and patched from the interior this time. They did not charge me anything for it because they had a warranty for it. The price was in line with the other quotes. The people who have water leaks in their houses are not exactly the pleasant people to deal with but US waterproofing staff handle them with great deal of professionalism and courtesy. I have not had any problems so far but we haven?t had a torrent or a snow yet. I am not exactly an easiest person in the world and I am satisfied with them. If I ever have a problem again they will be the one whom I will be contacting.

I emailed to the company with a message on Saturaday about what service I need. Next Monday morning, I got the phone call from their service department and get the apoint there for estimat. Got the estimate in next week. Supposedly, they will perform the service in two weeks later, but we got a supprise phone call saying that they can provide the service earlier. The workers were professional, came on time and did a good job. They cleaned up the working area well after the job is done, covered their shoes to keep our hard floor untouched. They also checked other walls and suggested to get other two cracks sealed - which we agreed. The whole service was a good experience.

One crack held up very well but the other needed to be repaired many times. US Waterproofing claimed to warranty the work for as long as you own your home. I had them come out and the rep was not told that the work was originally performed by his company. He was very abrupt with us and stated he was unaware that it was originally done by US Waterproofing. He did not even offer to check the records to see. We went with another company.

The only reason I use used them is because they are the only ones that used the odor bonder for the cracks because it smells so horrible. They use it because it a lot messier and if it is not a big crack it would pop. Their prices were higher than the others, but they gave me a discount and made a note of it on paper. The work was fine and the gentleman was really good, but the only complaint that I had was he told me the seepage would be on the outside and onto my walkway. He should have told me that before hand and I could have put something down. I scrapped off as much as I could in the basement, but I have a fairly new sidewalk and I can?t get it off. I called to ask if they had a suggestion and the girl on the phone said that she would have a crew come out on the 2nd or 4th of November and see if they can take it off, but I said I would not be home. They person that came and did the work was friendly and nice.
Description of Work: We used US Waterproofing on Monday and repaired a crack on the side of my basement because we had seepage.
