U.S. Waterproofing

They were good and dependable. I had a problem after they finished the work, but they were very responsive and found the little problem that was causing everything. They did their job well. It was a little pricey, but it was a big job and I think it was fair. I would use them again.

I got a few estimates from other service providers (names I got from Angie's list), including US Waterproofing. Each walkthrough bid turned out to be educational (I knew very little about this stuff), and each estimate from the other providers included slightly different approaches to solving my seepage problem by trenching the inside perimeter of my basement. I really liked the first walkthrough evaluation that I got with US Waterproofing's salesman, but I thought their initial estimate was a bit high at $7200. My 60 year old house isn't huge (30x30 foundation) but I did need 360' coverage. In the end I chose them because I liked the time the salesman spent answer my many questions (we talked on the phone twice after), PLUS they offered 1year interest-free financing, but best of all I was able to negotiate price down to $6000 by allowing them to schedule me during their slow time in the winter (I got the estimate in late summer) since my situation was not an emergency. In January two trucks and a small army of workman showed up and got right to work. Sometime in the late morning, Ishmael, the Foreman, called me down to the basement. As planned, they had taken up the old sump, removing an area of the concrete floor to put in a larger replacement, and now there was TERRIBLE smell coming from the mud underneath. Apparently we had a 60 year old cast iron sewage pipe below the foundation that was disintegrated and had been dumping "grey" water (yuck) into the mud under the floor, probably for years. Ishmael suggested the crew take an early lunch while I called a plumber and we could plan what to do. It says a lot about Forman Ishmael and US Waterproofing that the rest of the story is a short one. They worked closely with my plumber to facilitate fixing the problem. They kindly opened up a few more feet of floor, allowing the plumbers to remove and replace the offending material and re-plumb the broken sewer line. Meanwhile the crew continued to work around the problem area. In the end they filled in the extra area (about a 3x8 section) and poured the new floor right along with the trench and new sump, all at no extra charge and right on schedule. I could not be more happy with the results, especially in the face of this potential disaster. I highly recommend US Waterproofing, and offer my special thanks to Ishmael and his highly professional crew for their help and flexibility.

They were quick, punctual, quiet and tidy. I am very happy with their work, and my basement has not leaked since they completed the job.

They came to analyze where we were getting water from in our basement, they came up with a very honest and cost-effective solution, and their estimate was one tenth what the other company wanted us to pay.

I found them through Angie's List and they did a good job. The first crack was $450 and the second one was $300. I don't know a lot about how much it should be. I'm not sure what they could have done better. They were pretty straight forward which is why I liked them. It didn't take long to get them out here. They came on time. They made an appointment and kept their appointment which was better than what my roofers did. They weren't real expensive.

They were very professional, showed up when they were supposed to and they overcharged. They charged me $ 1200 for an hour and half of work. I will use them in the future. I complained about the price and they responded appropriately. So that was resolved not to my complete satisfaction but they responded and I appreciated that.

I found them through Angie's List. They were very helpful. They didn't seem to be pushy. Some of the guys wanted to buy everything under the sun. They wanted to work with me the most economical for the situation that I had, so that was really appreciated. The workers were friendly and they really thought about keeping my kitchen clean, so it was great. Everything is holding up great so far.

It has been a couple years ago everything has held up fine.

They did a great job, very fast. Two years later the leaks are still dry and solid.

It went very smoothly and quickly. They called prior to coming exactly like he said they would It took them about 1/2 hour to do the job. I never got any other quotes so I have no idea if the price was right.

The estimate that they gave me was way too high. My wife also told me that he was pushy to get the offer signed right away. We did not have a good experience with their salesman.

I tried calling another waterproofing company, that actually asked me if there was a Mr. in the house...and refused to meet with me without my husband. (!) So, I knew I was probably in for a first-rate sales pitch on waterproofing... I called US Waterproofing because of the reviews on Angie's List, and I was a bit wary of what they would say. Matt came right on time and spent a long time looking inside and outside the house, do a "hose test" to see where the water was coming from, etc. He explained to us in detail how/why you would get water in your basement, a lot about the company, things to look for, and so on. I know a lot about basement waterproofing now! What we discovered was that we had a crack in our foundation that was leaking in water. Matt didn't try to sell us anything more than a fix for that crack. When the work was finally done, the worker took a good look at the outside of our house and pointed out a few more places that we could repair, with no pressure to do so (showed us the cracks, but said that they may never actually take in water). We went ahead and fixed those too, and got a discount for it. In all, we got our problem fixed, I think we prevented any future problems, and the price was reasonable for the work done (he was at our house for almost 4 hours). My only problem was that it ook almost three works to get the work done, and we did take on water (again) when it rained in the meantime. BUT, in their defense, one of the weeks was Thanksgiving week, so pretty difficult for anyone to get anything done anyway. If I had a problem again in my basement (and I sure hope NOT), I would definitely call them again.

We are experiencing a significant musty smell in our unfinished basement and we had several areas where there is efflorescence forming on the bricks. Shawn, who came out to provide the estimate, identified 6 cracks in the foundation walls which were likely contributing to the dampness and suggested to call a tuckpointer to resolve the issue with the bricks. Shawn was very helpful to provide suggestions to keep our basement dry such as suggesting not to repaint the bricks since it inhibits their ability to breathe and dry out properly. We decided to repair 5 of the 6 cracks which although were not near the bricks with the efflorescence, likely contributed to the dampness. Shawn also greatly assisted in scheduling the work within the week which without his help would have been delayed and likely would not have worked well for our schedule. The 2 workers who came out were very professional, worked diligently, cleaned up after all the work and were finished within 2 hours.

Efficiently done and did not leave a mess.

I thought that they were great but just went with somebody else. They were very professional and the guy who came out and gave the quote was knowledgeable. He was well organized and had good ideas. Their price was too expensive so I probably wouldn’t use them.

They were highly recommended on Angie's List so I called them. They were very prompt. They set up an appointment for the next day for the estimate. They came out within the two hour period they gave me. They called 20 minutes ahead of when they came. I think they gave me a reasonable quote and we are going to use them. They were very professional.

They did a fine job fixing the problem. They included a lifetime guarantee. They cleaned up after themselves and were very efficient.

I completely understand why they are so highly rated on Angie's List. They gave us reassurance about the quality of work through a lifetime warranty with them. They told us exactly what they were doing step by step along the way.

The work they did was fine though the scheduling was not great. Came for one day, didn't come back for a few more. Never really explained that well and we had a big pile of dirt. My biggest issue wasn't the work they did, but why they did it. I had some water seeping in my basement. A plumber did not think it was from a pipe so I called US Waterproofing. The estimator came out an diagnosed it as the seam in the foundation wall. With the membrane and a wider window well, water would not get into the seam. Welll as soon as they were using the hose to clean up the mess from the work, I had water again. The plumber had missed a split pipe. All the work US Waterproofing did was pointless. I was definitely not pleased with the Plumber but would have thought that the Estimator would have had enopugh experience to know the water wasn't coming from the seam. Instead, I did $3000 of work for no reason.

It turned out good. The salesman was very knowledgeable and didn’t give me the runaround. He goes straight to the point and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t want. The workers were fine and on time. Two guys came, I think, for a week and the work was very good.

The estimate was a little high. He appeared professional and low-key. Under the window well, I thought there was a drain. I asked him if there was a drain there, and if so can we clear it out. He said he wasn't sure if there was a drain, and he said if there was a drain just cleaning it out would do more damage, and the best way to proceed would be to replace the whole thing for $2000. I ended up getting another company to clean it out and replace the top and hose for only $150.

We had about six people come and give us a bid about the waterproofing issue and they were all over the place. The highest bid was $12000. US Waterproofing & Construction Co was also not cheapest either. There were several cracks in the basement, but only one was leaking. No one else could find out the crack that was leaking apart from US Waterproofing & Construction Co who found out the crack that was leaking. So, we got the job done by US Waterproofing & Construction Co. They were very thorough. They came in and tried to figure out what needed to be done to stop the sewage. I would use their service in the future too.

Did not hire them. Salesman was too much of a salesman, failed to focus on the best solution for us - seemed like he pushed the best solution for THEM. More interested in talking about their sales volume and number of clients than on our problem and what we were looking for.

The price they quoted me was over twice the amount quoted by another well known basement waterproofing company for the same work. I can't really speak to the quality of their work, but the price was way out of range....
