SWC Concrete

I never received a call back.

SWC came out promptly for a quote. They had done our neighbor across the street's drive last year and he was pleased. He also needed his storm drain replaced and not all the companies wanted to work with that. Anyway, the crew worked from early until late and completed the job in one day. The driveway looks very nice and we've had many compliments on it. They put a 'Cure and Seal' on it that day. They took most of the debris away, but did leave some wood that we had to saw in half in order for the garbage men to take it. The outside sides of the drive had quite a bit a stone and excess concrete chunks left there. We had to hire a landscaper to take it away & bring in soil. (We are hoping that landscaper took enough away for grass to grow...we'll see.) 'Not sure why the finished job left our sidewalk and drive about 5" higher than before, so Landscaper had to bring in lots of soil to bring it up. Also, in re-looking @ this site, it says there is a Senior Citzen discount which we didn't get, but the most important thing is that the driveway turned out well. Time, of course 'will tell', but it is looking very good right now....

.Called 3 contractors from Angie's list. 1 could not come for an estimate for 4 weeks, done. Next guy never returned my call. done. SWC John came to the house within an hour of me calling. Yes. Gave me an estimate for the driveway only which is what I requested. Not pushy, knew his stuff, and very personable. My kind of guy. Told me that in he would be able to start in a 2-3 weeks and left with the ball in my court. Now I happen to know a little about concrete, When I was younger my brother, best friend and uncle were all concrete guys and I helped out in summers, so I knew that SWC John was on the level with me. So I called SWC John back that afternoon and he and his father John Sr came over. I told him that now I would like a price for replacing all the concrete and fixing the foundation. Agreed on the price, work and materials to be used. Work would start in 2-3 weeks, which it did. Project took a little longer to finish due to rainy spell, taking about 2 weeks to complete. John and his crew were punctual, 0730 everyday, very professional and extremely hard workers. They cared about my property like it was their own and took great pride in their work and the finished product shows that. SWC John did a fantastic job!! Driveway is high quality and looks great! John stopped by a few weeks after it was completed to make sure I was happy with the work. They were also great with my family and grandkids that were excited to watch, giving the kids safety vests. Great family business. Good people. I would now consider him as family/friend. Now it's about 3 months after and concrete looks great. My crawlspace where the foundation was cracked is bone dry !! The rainwater runs away from house to the curb they installed and then down the driveway. Looks terrific!!! SWC and Johnny are the Great !!

Overall, I think SWC Concrete did a very nice job. It was a long wait from when we signed the contract , but John told me he was very busy and it would be a while before he would be able to start the project. I think it was worth the wait. They poured all the concrete last week and so far we are very happy! I would recommend SWC Concrete to anyone looking for a nice Concrete job.

In all fairness John's work may be the best on the planet. Furthermore, I called John late in the year, and most concrete guys are trying to get as much done as possible on existing jobs before the weather turns bad. Consequently, I had several guys tell me that they just could not get the work done this season. That being said, I was very disappointed that John made 3 different appointments with us and failed to make any of them. He could have called me to say he wasn't coming and didn't. When I called him the first time it seemed pretty evident he forgot and said he would stop by the next evening. Again, He didn't stop, and didn't call. I called him a 3rd time and he said he would and quot;do his best to come by on the weekendand quot; again no show and no call. I picked SWC because they were just 1 town away from where the work was to be done. Perhaps John was trying to be a nice guy, and felt because he was so close he could swing by on the way home. In this case, I wish John would have just said he was too busy, and allowed me to look for another quality contractor who wasn't as booked. If you call John, I would just make it apparent that your quote times are firm, and you expect him to call you if he can't make the appointment. Again, all the work reviews that I read about SWC were very positive.

John came right out to our house when we called on his way between jobs to give us an estimate. He was super helpful in working with us on figuring out the correct hardscape solution for what we wanted to accomplish. Though he was more than happy to provide a formal written quote, we were quickly convinced that stamped concrete was not the best or most cost-effective solution for what we were looking to do. He focused on what we wanted, NOT just getting himself potential business. That was HUGELY appreciated. We are now going another direction, but we would recommend considering him to bid on any concrete job needs since he clearly wants only customers who will be satisfied. They did an amazing job. Always cleaned up after themselves. very satisfied with the work and workmanship.

I had an excellent experience with SWC construction. John was extremely informative regarding options for our driveway and porch. He returned phone calls promptly, and was very patient when we made several changes after the project had begun. His workers were reliable, hardworking, and showed a remarkable level of professionalism. John was on the job everyday to monitor progress, and insure any concerns we might have were addressed in a timely manner The driveway and porch look great! SWC receives my highest praise for a job well done.

ultimately project was ok at best. Mats used to create stamp effect were dropped in spots creating permanent drop marks in the concrete. Other spots are barely stamped because not enough pressure was used to create the brick effect. All in all in was kind of amatuerish.
