Description of Work: Just got horrible experience with them. I asked them to come to do an estimate for a job project. They schedule me right away and said that a plumber will come to give me a free estimate the same day. I explained all about the project on the phone to the operator. I received an email with my appointment time for " a free estimate"... Than 30 minutes after the plumber called. He asked description of the job and give me an estimate over the phone! Saying it could be a lot more depending exactly on the job ! Ok so this is not an estimate! I called the office where first the operator said that this is realty unprofessional of that plumber, that they do not work like this, and they always come to the job site to give free estimate... Than she transfer me to the " manager"... Who finally said that they do not give free estimate and they charge per hours for the time that they spend giving estimate.... The plumber gave me the minimum work estimate over the phone and that amount will go up depending on the real job... Of course I will schedule you and than paid whatever!!!

Description of Work: They had to reem out the pipes that were full of corrosion, grease and sludge. It took him awhile he explained everything before he did the work when he was finished we were so pleased.

Description of Work: Our kitchen sink/garbage disposal drain was clogged. It turns out that the the problem was further down the kitchen's piping. Apparently six years (age of our home)worth of accumulated detergent residue, food debris & grease from the garbage disposal had clogged the line. They "rodded" the entire kitchen line, made sure nothing leaked, and gave us some tips for preventative maintenance. The rodding process was loud but effective. The process took approximately 1 "hour and they left zero mess behind. My only "complaint" was the $495 cost. However, having never needed plumbing services before I have no frame of reference as to whether the cost was appropriate or not. I chose them based on a family member referral and because they had someone out to us within 2 hrs of my call (BTW...they're available Saturdays & Sundays at no additional charge).

Description of Work: This is an old building. When it was rehabbed they bypass the catch bason |so they could not find the entrance to it. Work man said the blockage was not cause from the tree roots. They cleaned up and said to call them if I need him to come back with a camera. I will call him when I need him again.

Description of Work: The plumber physically opened up my clogged kitchen sink and eventually rodded the line about 12-15 feet to eliminate any remaining blockages. They also offered a 6 month guarantee and a free return visit if the problem recurs. I was very happy with the service and their responsiveness and ability to schedule quickly (which I've found to be one of the most difficult aspects of dealing with plumbers- even the ones that I like very much). The cost seemed a "little" high given the nature of the work, but given their timeliness I guess that my overall satisfaction balances out.

Description of Work: While visiting my mother in Chicago, I called Roto Rooter because the bathroom sink was stopped up. I called Roto Rooter to come out and look at it. Making an appointment was easy, however, they sent an email the next day telling me they'd be there between 9-10a which was great, I requested before noon. At around 10:15a, I called them because no one had shown up or called. The dispatcher said my request was before noon. So I'm wondering, why send the email? Dispatcher called back around 10:30a says plumber is on his way, will be there before 11a. I called back around 11:30a because nobody had shown yet. When I ask the dispatcher where's the plumber, he tells me he doesn't know, but apologizes. I don't care about the apology, I'd rather have some information. Plumber shows up about 11:45a. I'm annoyed, but figure I shouldn't take it out on him, I don't know what happened. Anyway, says he needs to rod out the line, will cost $415. Goodness, knew plumbing could be expensive, but was hoping for less than that. Have him go ahead and do the work. Takes him about 10 minutes. Probably not their fault, but $415 for 10 mins of work didn't make me happy. Glad the pipe was cleared, but I feel that when you charge like that, even for plumbing, everything should run smoothly. It didn't. I probably won't use them again.
