Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Professional - informative all along the way - tested after the fix to make sure there were no further problems. The service man was pleasant and we were informed all along the way when he would be here as this was a call early in the evening.

At noon on Thanksgiving, I found myself with a clogged and overflowing kitchen sink. I didn't really expect to find anyone to come and help, but I called Roto Rooter anyway. A pleasant woman wished me a happy Thanksgiving, and said that she could have someone there within a few hours. Sooner than I had dared hope, Giovann showed up. He was personable and professional, assessed the situation and went to work. I have an historic town house with ancient plumbing that always adds complications. Giovann dealt with them, and soon my water was running clear. Because this was an emergency on a holiday, I was happy to pay the full price of $435, but if I could have waited, I would have taken advantage of the $99 dollar deal.

We have had many services provided by Roto Rooter in the past and the service has been exceptional. This last service call, we called for a plumber for a broken drain pipe outdoors. Someone came to our home and provided an estimate. He stated he would return next week to do the work. In short, it has now been 3 weeks and three cancellations with Roto Rooter. Stating the plumber truck is broken, he was out sick and today they stated that they did not hear back from the plumber yet. We asked to speak to a supervisor and was told "he will call us back". Prior to the third appt, I called to ensure the part were available for the work. I asked Roto Rooter to call back to confirm they had the parts. They never called. We have changed our scheduled three times over three weekends to have the work done. Roto Rooter could have declined the work, called us back and/or provided better service. I will be sure to share my experience with everyone I know.

Felipe was very friendly and helpful in explaining all of the work he was doing and took the time to make an additional pass through the pipes from my home to the sewer main so that I don't encounter similar problems from root growth for many years to come. He also took the time to properly cover the area around where he was working and made sure to put covers on the wheels from his machinery to make sure that my home did not get any dirt and floors did not get any scratches while he was working. Unfortunately, my main drain pipe connecting my home to the main sewer had severe root damage and Felipe was not able to clear all of the root debris. However, he was quick to call his supervisor, Gary, who was able to come to my home within a half hour of being called and inspected all of my piping with a camera and was able to pinpoint the exact location of the problem. He was also able to explain all the work he was doing and was realistic in his recommendation that I needed to have a portion of my main drainage excavated and replaced due to the severity of the damage. Gary was also very helpful in immediately scheduling repair services, handling all of the paperwork related to getting permits for upcoming work, and helping me secure financing for the future work that will be performed. In all, he spent about 90 minutes with me to make sure everything was in order for upcoming work prior to leaving my home so that I can rest assured that everything will be taken care of in a timely and accurate manner. I would absolutely recommend Roto-Rooter for any plumbing/sewer work in the Chicagoland area. They were quick to schedule an emergency evaluation (they were here the next day- and I called on a Sunday evening), performed quality work, and had great customer service.

I have used Roto-rooter before and Felipe did a great job. I would not trust anyone else to do this job.

Everything went very well. I was especially appreciative of the fact that the plumber was able to provide me with preventative care so that this issue will not happen in the future. He also took me through every step of the repair and let me know every detail as to what he was doing to help fix the problem. All in all I was absolutely amazed by the work that he had done once was completed and was happy that everything was able to be repaired in the same day.

Felipe, 3033, was our technician. He's come to our house several times before and is always prompt and courteous. We scheduled the appointment on line and received an email confirming the date and time frame we requested. We were called about an hour before he arrived within the time frame.

I had some slow moving drains in the double sink of my master bathroom. I called roto-rooter to come and rod out the drains to remove the clog. They came out super fast (in about an hour). Yuri was prompt, professional and neat. He did a great job and cleaned up after himself.

Roto-Rooter was the second plumber I contacted. It turned out that I had a significant block in the main line that resulted in my two second floor toilets emptying in to the base commode. So super fun. Mike-2722 (presumably he has a real last name in addition to the 2722) cleaned it out and was great about handling a relatively unpleasant mess. Some disposable gloves, a bunch of bleach and a roll of paper towels later, we're ready to install that new shower curtain liner. Also I really need to stop running a "Challenge Our Basement Plumbing" contest with our visitors.

They were very knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. They cleaned up after themselves and did a very good job.

I filled out an on-line form requesting service and sent it in, but received no response at all. Wouldn't think of ever contacting this company again for any purpose whatsoever.

The gentleman who came was thorough and cleaned out a main sewer line that was blocked with tree roots. The inside plumbing had backed up and had a solid blockage due to the main line running so slowly that grease had accumulated The time involved was in excess of the quote but the final amount was for the quoted service charge. Very happy as I was worried about having to replace the main line.

Jeff was polite experienced and knew exactly what to do! He had our train running in no time ! The only reason I gave a B for the price is because I was so frustrated that I had to actually call someone to clear out my drain!!

Scheduled to come out from 2-6pm. Took the day off & waited. They call me at 4 to tell me it will be a while. Okay? You said you'd call 20 minutes before arrival, why are you calling me? I wait and get a call at 5:11 telling me they're backed up but trying to get someone out, Ohhh & by the way since you said it was a "sulfur smell" it's $100 just to come out! Why didn't you tell me this earlier when I decided to stay home & wait for you not to show up?? They rescheduled me for the next day from 2-6 again after I told them I needed to talk to my spouse. In the meantime I called young plumbing & they came out an hour later and chargers me $40 for the call & told me since my hot water heater is still under warranty to call the guy who put it in. His charge is $100. Young wanted $325 minus the $40! I can only imagine how much this company would have charged!! DON'T USE THEM! DON'T!!

All went well, everything is working. Jeff was very nice and pleasant. We would use Roto-Rooter again. There was also a 40.00 coupon which helped a lot!

Due to blockage we were getting water seeping on the basement floor every time we flushed a toilet. I searched online for a plumber and read many reviews and called another company but they couldn't come until the next day. This company said they had someone in the area who could come within the hour to check it out and give us an estimate--which was perfect. The service man figured out the problem and gave us an estimate of just under $500 to remove the blockage. It took a couple of hours to do. Gave us a 30-day warranty. He then called his supervisor who came pretty soon with the camera to find the cause of the blockage. Found damaged section with the camera and showed us what was happening. The recommendation was to do outside clean out and pressure jetting, and to restore part of the 4" cast iron line, to prevent this from happening again. The house is 42 years old, a contributing factor. That work will be done in a couple of days after they call the gas company and get the permits. Of course that will be expensive (3,200 to start the work and 3,200 when finished) but it is necessary. They will dig down 7' to the pipe and replace the corroded section, and thru there clean out the rest, also correcting the angle, as I understand it. Well, so far so good. Both service men who came out were very knowledgeable and very good at explaining the situation to us so we feel comfortable at this point.

My main drain has been slow for years and finally it stopped completely. I live in Lake in the Hills and called the service number to set up an appointment. I called on a SATURDAY at about 11:30 AM. By 1:00 PM the service guy was at my house and before 2:00 I had a perfectly working drain. The thing that made this experience great was Matt, the service guy. He was polite, professional, and very good at his job. He knew exactly what to do, and did it promptly. There was no mess and no inconvenience. He included a 6 month guarantee and assured me if I had any issues, he would come back, no problem. I am relatively well experienced in home repair and maintenance, and was going to rent the rodder myself and do it. After having Matt out, I will never consider that option again! Well worth it, and will use them again.

I called between 7 and 8 this morning, and was told my window was between 8 and Noon. Jimmy, our technician, showed up at 9! He was very professional, listened to my tenant describe the situation, (wearing booties every time he went inside), and immediately gave me the estimate and started to work. In less than an hour the situation was completely resolved. Jim was so courteous, so professional, and efficient! I have a 6 month warranty on the work done today. I could not be more pleased!

The plumber technician, Greg, came out Wednesday night but had to return Thursday morning due to defective parts. He allowed me to watch him work and answered all my questions.

The Roto Rooter arrived outside the given time frame but they did call me several times to keep me posted on his ETA and took note of the fact that I had to leave home by 4:00 p.m. it took him a while but he finally pulled out all the roots and debris that was clogging my drain Giovann 2910 was a very nice young man who talked me through the process and then began his work. He was very polite and professional. I would certainly want him to come back next spring.

I had changed the pressure relief valve on my water heater and doing so turned the gas off to the heater and then could not get it to relight. the tech came and within 5 minutes he had it going again.He was a pleasure to deal with.The call center was a great help in keeping me informed as to when the tech would arrive.

Ball on Sump Pump not functioning because of size and wear. Not proper for small pit. Updated with new pump and vertical ball. Work was done efficiently and thorough explanation and demonstration of problem prior to installation. Greg was professional and courteous and he resolved our problem. He tested battery and said it was operating properly and just needed a recharge because it was used when main pump ball malfunctioned. No need to change battery. Later had minor adjustment needed on pipe. Harold showed me the solution and fixed it right away. They work on weekends and holidays at no additional charge. Quite a professional group.
