Michael Carr's Painting and Decorating Service

My mom had used Michael in the past and I called him for an estimate to paint the dining room ceiling as well as fix a small area that had had water damage in the past. Also to paint the living room walls and ceiling. He told me that I should pick the colors and email them to him. I asked him if he did exterior work and he said this son did and that he would see what I wanted done and his son would give me an estimate for the outside work. I did contract with them for August 11,12 and 13th, thinking this would be plenty of time for 2 men to get all the work done. Michael came on the 11th and said that he would be doing the work himself. He power washed the first day and it turned out fine. The second day he came back and painted the exterior work. After he was done I noticed that he just painted over the cracking and rusted paint, never scraping or preparing the area. I was a little disappointed because his didn't do a professional job but I reread the contract and scraping or preparing was not mentioned. The second day he did paint the ceiling of the dining room. The 3rd day he came out to paint the living room ceiling and living room walls. I had left that day because I did trust him and when I came home late in the day I was shocked. I had purple ceilings. I thought hmmmm maybe that is the color I picked out but I looked at the swatch and it was not. I called him and he said he would check. He called me back and said that his paint store had put 2.5 % red in instead of .25%. He said he would be out the next day to repaint. He did come out on Saturday, yet another day spent with a painter. (His son was no where in sight and no explaination given). He had an attitude with me stating that he wasn't getting reimbursed by anyone for the paint stores mistake. The next day the paint on the dining room ceiling started to blister and crack. I wrote him a letter and he never replied.
