We initially got a quote on roof repair. The work got delayed on our part, and picked up again in spring. By that time a raccoon had taken up residence and had a litter. She and her babies were removed and JBD sent in a remediation crew to clean out every bit of insulation in our attic, which had virtually all been soiled by the 'c***, along with all the soil. All I can say about them is WOW! I was given an approximate arrival time, and received a phone call saying they were on their way from another job at about the time I was expecting them, so that was fine. They arrived a short time later and Ron Zimek introduced himself. I was a wreck because of the whole mess made by the raccoons but Ron very quickly set things right. He put on protective gear and did an inspection of the attic, taking pictures for the insurance claim. His crew, Romero and Luis, followed him; he quickly let them know what was needed, they suited up and set to work. It took them six hours to get us cleaned out but you would hardly know they were around. They were quiet, extremely clean in the removal, courteous and professional. Meanwhile, Ron had assessed the hole in our roof and decided that he would do a patch to prevent re-infestation. It was now about 4 p.m. He went over their office, dropped off pictures for the insurance company and picked up "patch" material. The next thing I knew he was up on the roof "patching" away. I say "patch" because it looks to me like a complete fix. Ron pointed out to me that it didn't exactly match, but I can't tell now, a few days out, where the patch is. The work that day, after all insulation and soil was removed, was finished up by Ron going up with an anti-microbial that was absolutely Green, spraying all the affected areas, and presenting my husband and me with a complete fact sheet on this wonderful product. These guys made a difficult experience so much better. I can't say enough about Ron Zimek's professionalism, focus, energy and cheerful good humour through some really difficult work. The same for Romero and Luis as well. What a great crew, and a great company in JBD Solutions!
Description of Work: Initially it was repair to a hole in our roof. Turned into attic remediation after a raccoon and her babies were removed. Remediation involved removal of all insulation and animal soil, and spraying anti-microbial on all soiled areas. There may be more work involved (replacing ceiling panels), depending on what inspectors determine needs to be done. That part has not been addressed yet.

The insurance company recommended JBD Solutions. The owner, Brandon Donatelli, provided the insurance company with an estimate of approximately $47,000 to repair my home. He over estimated almost everything and the insurance company paid him. As an example, there is 240 sq. ft of tile in my kitchen that was replaced. His submitted claim to the insurance company was for 481 sq ft however, he ordered 331 SF of tile. His line item listing shows that JBD removed 32 SF of insulation and replaced it with 384 SF of insulation in the dining room. He listed, and got paid, $823.04 for a microwave that I replaced for $200. He submitted that he used 261 SF of cement board in the kitchen when plywood was used. There is NO cement board in my kitchen. He submitted $752 for duct cleaning. There are about 30 items that were overstated to the insurance company. The workmanship in my home was horrible. I had to hire an electrician to correct their electrical work. The floor tile in the kitchen is uneven and the grout has holes and divots throughout. The cabinets were hung with 2 in. screws rather than the 2 1/2 inch screws provided by the manufacture and most of the cabinets were not level. Many of the cabinets were not screwed into the 2 x 4's. Trim installed on the cabinets was installled upside down. The countertop was installed without corner support and had to be redone. The island cabinets were not centered underneath the island light fixture. Because the cabinets were removed and reinstalled 2 - 3 times, there are nicks and dents on most of them. They did not insulate the outer kitchen wall initially. This was recognized when they had to remove the cabinets to reinstalll them up against the wall and level them. The oak flooring in the dining room was not acclimated for 72 hours as recommened on the label from the wood. They installed it the same day and it looks terrible. Some pieces of wood look like they have been outlined due to the amount of wood putty used to fill the cracks. They reinstalled the original moldy trim in the basement until I asked that they remove it. When installing the bathroom cabinet, they caused another flood by putting a screw through the water pipe. They had to remove and replace drywall in the bathroom and kitchen again. Their trim work - baseboard, chair rail, crown molding, etc. - was so bad, I asked them to remove it. Almost everything that this company did, had to be redone. They threw out my bathroom faucet, broke my bathroom mirror and banged up my stove. Work started in my home early March and my brother is finishing the work as JBD provided me with a $5500 check to complete the work myself as well as cover the costs of stove replacements parts, faucet, mirror and other expenses I paid for myself.
Description of Work: Due to a broken shut off, my home incurred water damage on three levels Jan 28, 2010. JBD was recommended by my insurance company so I hired them. They provided emergency service (removal of cabeints, dry wall, insulation) the day after the flood and were to provide restoration services: drywall, flooring - wood and tile, back splash tile, electrical work, painting, cabinet replacement.
